I Made a Delicious Snack From My Sour Cherry Harvest

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Obviously key to any permaculture system is picking varieties of plants that are productive, and the sour cherry performs really well in our area. My pie cherry tree, a Montmorency, produced abundantly this season. The fruit is kind of tart to eat out of hand, though some don't mind. I like to dehydrate the fruit so they can be stored for longer. They can be sweetened for an easy snack, trail food, or ingredient in salads. There's nothing better than local fruit, and these cherries a loaded with flavor.

Banjo is doing great, and enjoying her free roaming status--which means she is able to be off leash at the ecovillage. She just follows me around wherever I go. Thanks for the compliment and encouragement, Bobby. I love the videos you make too.

If you had missed one and it went in to that bowl with the seed and you grinded it and ate It , game over

Lots of pits ended up in the bowl, but it's pretty easy to notice a cherry pit. They don't even get ground up in a food processor. But if you did grind a seed and ingest it, it's unlikely it would kill you. There isn't enough there to cause cyanide poisoning. I know people that claimed stone fruit pits had cancer prevention qualities and would actually eat apricot seeds regularly. Almonds are stone fruits as well and contain a small amount of the toxin in other stone fruit seeds.
