    I think Steph is a lot like Kawhi in that he’s a great on court leader but he’s much more passive in the locker room. Golden State’s locker room leader was always Iggy just like the 2019 Raptors’ locker room leader was Lowry. I’d argue that lack of clear locker room leadership was a huge contributor to the Clippers not winning a chip yet aside from injuries and I get the sense it’ll be the same for the Warriors with what little window they have left.

  • @pheloniusmunk

    @pheloniusmunk

    honestly it’s the opposite. most players will get the benefit of the doubt on the Nurkic play and a max 3 game suspension. same with the Rudy incident. the league even came out and said his history was a factor in the 5 games. even Metta World Peace, with his reputation, got under 10 for that elbow to Harden. the fact that this is a constant pattern of behavior for Green (and that he’s unapologetic about it) is why the NBA’s gonna throw 10-15 at him. and it’s earned.

  • @eliyarrows2456

    @eliyarrows2456

    @@pheloniusmunksaying the history factor made it 5 games is still special treatment. If you can choke a dude in the nba and only get 2 games for it like that’s ridiculous, anyone who chokes someone for 10 seconds will get 5 games but luckily the nba hasn’t had to enforce that outside of draymond. Dude has 3 ejections in his last 9 games and is only 5 games removed from choking a man for an altercation his teammate started. He should get a minimum of 15 games but will probably only get like 5-7.

    @@eliyarrows2456 to your point, there's not much precedent for someone doing that in the Adam Silver era. Ben had KAT in a sleeper but wasn't punished at all. it can't really be special treatment because there's no record of punishment for that act that we can look at and say "Draymond's getting off easy based on how the league typically handles this." 5-7 feels like a lowball for all the reasons you mentioned. Silver's track record shows he's not trying to throw the book at folks but this is a habitual line stepper so he might want to send a message with a double-digit suspension. we'll see though.

    Draymond Green has 3 ejections in his last 9 games. If he plays in 60 games this season, he’s on pace to have 12 ejections overall. And that’s assuming he gets suspended for 17 games or less for this one. Edit: there are only 8 players who have more than 12 ejections in their entire career, one of which is draymond who has the second most all time and would become the all time leader if he keeps up his current pace.

    hypothetically if a player had 12 ejections in a season, it's probably hard for them to be in 60 games. like Draymond missed 5 games because of one ejection. If a hypothetical player gets two five game suspensions, and all the rest are one game suspensions, you're already looking at 20 games missed just from the results of the ejections I guess ejections can not have suspension time (like if you get double technicals). Although in years past, if you got a certain number of technicals you started getting automatic 1 game suspensions every 2 technicals I think

    as a guy who's been a warriors fan since steph's rookie year and witnessed every step of the rise of the warriors dynasty, it's so sad to see the state things are in now. I knew it couldn't last forever but it still sucks just as much to see it. I can't imagine the warriors without steph, klay and dray, but barring some miracle it's impossible for those 3 to win a championship together ever again. i'd consider a "miracle" to be klay accepting a bench role, dray accepting a reduced role and some big free agency signings - but I don't see any chance of that happening. regardless it was extremely fun while it lasted and I feel incredibly blessed to have been a fan watching every playoff game from the beginning of this legendary trio.

    Im a heat fan so this is outside looking in… but i feel like for atleast the last 2 seasons now… Kerr is desperately holding on to those glory days by starting Klay and Dray… its also stunted the growth of moody and kuminga… fee like 2 yrs ago it shoulda been like steph, moody, minga, some type of stretch 4 they trade for and looney at the 5… with klays shooting and drays hustle off the bench… this woulda opened up the possibility of moody and minga to reach their full potential… instead Kerr is holding on to the 2018 or whatever starting 5 with moody and minga getting like 5 MPG in the playoffs

Try to trade him for a few second rounders and sign klay. Hes not playing well anymore but hes not actively hurting the team he just needs to be on the bench.
