I'm suing David Lloyd Gyms for Failing to Provide Girls with Privacy & Dignity in Changing Rooms

On today's #NCFWhittle we are joined by Emma Hardy, a gender critical mother who is suing David Lloyd Gyms over their policy of allowing people born male to use female changing rooms in which her daughters might also be changing.

I hate it too, but she is in a legal process and is using legal terms for fear of harming her case. Changing rooms should be sex specific, not gender. Male or female. Any grey area, use the disabled toilet. People in the grey area should just get on with their lives and stop antagonising everyone over the very sensitive subject of non-females entering spaces where girls require privacy. If need be, change the name of the disabled toilet to disabled and inclusive.

The problem is the term "gender" was introduced as a way to produce an ambiguity between that and biological sex. It started with sex being fixed but gender is the interpretation of sex, it doesn't hold up to scrutinity but once you dilute a meaning, it can be tough to start talking about reality.

Emma Hardy is clearly a thoughtful, considerate, determined mother who, as right thinking people do, has the wellbeing of her children as paramount. To my simple mind, these ‘woke’ gyms and other providers of facilities could provide three sets of WCs and changing facilities; ‘male’, ‘female’, ‘not bothered’, with ‘biological’ prefacing each. Or am I really, really simple minded? I suspect I’m absolutely full of common sense.

  • @loganblackwood2922

    @loganblackwood2922

The common sense part is the problem. It is intuitively true that men and women require their own spaces. Yet it is illegal to have male only gyms and other facilities yet there are women only gyms and spaces. Since this double standard has been permitted, it has created a standard for which picking and choosing application of the law can be done based on word dances.

I can understand your point in that it is a mental health problem but unfortunately we live in a society that allows people to be whatever they want to be in life. So if a man wants to be a woman they can be one and vice versa. It's not my fault 'responsible' adults in the UK produce messed up offspring 👍 You should direct your blame at the very parents who give birth to these people. While you're at it, can you also blame the people who bring into the world an unwanted child. What about the many promiscuous men in UK society? Do you think they've contributed to the rise in messed up children (adults) over the years? Many of society's problems are down to shagging the wrong people!! But it's to be expected when people aren't given a proper education. Oh and just think of all of those job losses in the Courts, solicitors, Police, social workers etc if people stopped shaggin the wrong people? Wouldn't society just be so wonderful if people stopped acting like animals 👍 @@robaudi20v

In my Australian state most public toilets are unisex. This predates this nonsense. I think the reasoning was more like say a man takes his daughter to the park and she needs to go to the toilet. If it's a unisex toilet the father can inspect there is no one lurking and no syringes or other hazards, before his daughter uses it. He couldn't do this if they are separated by sex. In some toilets separated by sex men don't have access to change tables for babies either. These unisex toilets are rooms with solid walls and doors not cubicles. And they ussually have a toilet, a hand sink and often a babies change table. If gyms and schools really wanted to deal with this problem they could do so in this way. The fact that they don't show their is evil at play.

@@apebass2215 That's an excellent question. They are sensible in places where responsible adults are present. I've only struck unisex toilets for the 4-6 year olds, who are not really in danger. I guess if teachers want this nonsense they should be made to supervise. Actually here a large number of parents choose small private Christian schools. They are not expensive or elitist. But for many families if it's a choice between your kids learning about Jesus or 50 ways to change your gender, it's a no brainer. I know the toilets at my grandkids school are proper bathrooms. I've used the girls bathroom, it had a toilet, a sink, with pretty soaps, a mirror, and a shelf with sanitary napkins for girls old enough to reach the shelf. But they are nominated as boys or girls. Even in the 70s and 80s girls often got bashed by gangs of other girls in the toilets of government schools. I went to a religious highschool for this reason and so did my daughters. The school's I describe might only have 50- 90 students so if an incident occurs the culprit is easily identified and expelled. Whereas government schools don't expel violent kids.

The idea that biological sex is on a spectrum and therefore difficult to clearly define, is a complete distortion of the truth. For the vast majority of people there is no ambiguity. Their biological characteristics align with either male or female. There is a very small minority of people whose biological characteristics are not so clear-cut, but the existence of anomalies does not invalidate the general rule. People who are teaching this guff about 'spectrums' are distorting the facts to support the dictates of their political ideology. They should, therefore, be sacked - they are doing immense harm.

No need to sue David Lloyd just! don't use their Gyms if they have any business sense they will soon change their policy or don't use the changing rooms. it is difficult for a company in this day and age to appease all genders under the law. But we still have the right to not do something, belong to, be a member of, etc.

My partner just said this: If its a matter of of jow the person is presenting, then once they remove the clothing, they are no longer presenting as what you are claiming. They are presenting as what they ARae, biologically. Therefore, if there is a potential for that person to remove their clothes, then this policy does not apply .

I left David Lloyd over this. Their changing rooms are communal, with only one cubicle in the female area. It’s hard for me to be naked around other women, even harder when little boys are in there with their Mums, some looking as old as10-11. So the thought of encountering a Man was just too much for me. I left. I didn’t complain because abuse it would only cause strife for me and I preferred to just leave. But I am very grateful to this brave lady.

Unfortunately 10 year old boys are no more capable of defending themselves against adult dodgy blokes in changing rooms than you are, hence mothers bringing them in to the womans changing rooms when access to family spaces are not available. I appreciate that this can be a difficult situation, and I certainly think that this should be a last resort and not the norm and certainly not when there are family spaces provided.

Then the devil is chained for a thousand years to give humanity a chance to build back up. Faith in Christ is the thing for me to work on now and if you're not baptised you might want to look into it.

I would argue being placed at risk would reach the threshold as a damage if the risk and consequences are high enough. An unwilling game of Russian roulette can serve as an example. Furthermore there is the question of balancing, as someone claiming being a women when being a man should normally be regarded a claim of an insane pervert and hence be considered extremely high risk - just by the claim made.

I don't mind how people wish to gender identify but there are practical problems to be addressed. You can have unisex or "trans friendly" changing rooms for people who don't mind this but separate changing rooms for people who do. It works both ways, men may also wish for privacy. Then I expect service providers will complain about the expense. But it's for governments who wish to push this agenda to foot the bill with subsidies.

More people need to stand up!!! 👏 It's very simple..... If YOU are ambiguous in your identity then YOU must adapt NOT EVERYONE ELSE...... WE have a mixed changing room..... Its very small and we only used it for mixed parent/child usage.... If a MAN enters CLAIMING to be a woman then HE MAY use that room OR if HE causes an ISSUE IN ANY WAY HE MAY LEAVE... END OF STORY..... ITS MY BUSINESS AND I MAKE THE RULES

Im a member of a gym chain. A few months ago i was walking out of the shower and there was a woman in our changing rooms using the scales. She turned around and shouted t me, 'do you mind??!'. I said 'it's the male changing rooms'..then a man jumped up getting in my face, presumably her boyfriend. I assured him in no uncertain terms that he would be making a gross error of judgement if he didnt back off and escort his g/f from our changing room. Imagine if a man was in women's changing rooms as they are walking round butt naked..This entire gender thing is madness and it's not just trans 'men' who can have a sense of entitlement.
