I'M STANDING UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT...
Ойын-сауық
This is not a typical FunSized Allyson Berger video. If you know me, you know I am one of the happiest people you will ever meet. Unfortunately, I am not happy in this video. These are not happy tears you see streaming down my face. These are tears of hurt and frustration. I am frustrated at myself for not walking off a set once I found out that the shoot was being used for a billboard and the compensation did not match that type of usage. I am frustrated at the talent agency that booked me for this shoot for not fighting to get myself and all of the talent that was booked for this job proper compensation for having their face on a billboard. I am frustrated that I am the only one out of the 16 talent that was booked for this project to speak out and fight for what is right and proper compensation to be on a billboard. I am frustrated that the ad agency did not advise their client in advance that they need a bigger budget if they want to use real models in their billboards.
I am not just bringing this issue to the public’s attention for myself, I am doing this for the 15 other models that were used for this shoot, I am doing it for models across the state of Florida, I am doing it for all models across the country that are aspiring or already working in this industry. Learn from my mistake. A few hundred dollars is not proper compensation to be on a billboard. If a job says the usage is for “all media,” that should be voided for vagueness and it needs to be specified. If your face is being used to make a business money, you need to be making money, the proper amount of money.
What happened to me and the 15 other models that were used for this shoot is unacceptable and should not be allowed to happen at any level of the entertainment industry. Whether you’re a name brand like Katherine Heigl, or someone just starting out in the industry, you should be compensated more than a few hundred bucks to be on a billboard. Don’t let what happened to me, happen to you, so ask questions, stand up for yourself & fight for proper compensation for different usages.

Yea, but this was his second shoot. The first time the contract says "peanuts" and all he got were those crappy marshmallow "Circus Peanuts". He learned a lesson an insisted on "REAL peanuts" this time. You listening Allyson?
So you read "All Media", assumed it meant only Social Media, then did the shoot, and are now assuming the ad agency acted in bad faith? Seems like the bad choices were all on your end.
I was in a similar situation. I was offered a job at McDonalds for $10 an hour. After working a week I checked out my first paycheck, those bastards only paid me $10 an hour. I couldn't believe it.

This has big time "Main Character" energy. You made a mistake by not being fully aware of the nature of the work you agreed to. It's ok. Everyone does it. However, ya gotta own up to your mistakes and acknowledge your shortcomings. Use it as an opportunity to make new connections and build new relationships to book better gigs in the future. Instead, you chose to be prideful and burn literally every bridge you've ever crossed. Unfortunately, because of the whole "main character" thing, you'll probably just view this as you being the victim and this comment as some sort of attack. Which it's not. Since when does what you thought mean anything? That’s why you sign a contract that specifies the terms. I “thought” you were supposed to know that? I think the bigger thing would be to accetpt responsibility for your actions. Could be a good learning experience.
TBH, if she wasn't wearing the same exact outfit as she was when she took the picture in the billboard, I would have no clue it was the same person. Attitude's like this person's is why most, if not all, marketing is going to be AI-generated soon.
You signed a contract saying all media. You knew it was for billboards and you still did it. Stop crying and enjoy your pay for doing absolutely nothing.
I wish you listed the ad agency, whom you feel slighted by, instead of the zoo, who didn't know what was going on. I'm also guessing the zoo didn't have the funds to go all out for what you think you're worth and they would have had family in the ads had they realized it would be such a ruckus. If you feel your image deserves more, go for it, but the zoo wasn't trying to be manipulative. If you were that upset, take it out on the agency.
A few points here: 1) it is a local market billboard and you were used on how many? One? 2) Zoos typically operate at a loss and their marketing budget is quite small 3) YOU signed a contract that read "All media". No one held a gun to your head to sign it. All being said, maybe you should have been paid a little more, I don't really know. But the fault is entirely yours. Also never wear that shirt again, throw it in the trash.
You didn't understand that all media means all media. You even asked and got your answer. Yet you still went through with the photoshoot. Instead of learning and growing from the experience to improve your self, you do this. Lol

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the term "all media"? Does than only mean "some media"? Or does that mean "all media"? It's so confusing and vague. I feel like if the mean "all media" they should be legally required to say "all media" and not just mention "all media" in the contract. I support the talent and definitely feel like if they mean all of something they should be legally required to say all of something and not just say something else that's exactly the same thing.

Please do not speak for the other 15 models. I’m sure they don’t want any part of this.
Why would a shoot for "social media" (ALL of social media) be cheaper than six measly billboards? That makes no sense. Social media covers a lot more that those six boards. On top of everything else, your logic is faulty.
How much *SHOULD* U have been paid den?
ayy Allison Burgers from The Dictator
This is incredibly common on non union shoots these days. Advertisers ask for complete buyouts for a low number. You're either non union, or ficore. Either one, you know the inherent risk of doing low budget that you agree to, or accept yourself. If your agent was involved, then it's strange that the agent didn't ask about usage. I'm a EP/Line producer. In these situations, I try and get more money for the buyout, and limit the usage once I ask the clients how long the campaign will run. If the client wants in perpetuity, again, I try and up the rate, but I also limit usage to 2 years with a re-negotiation clause. Agency producers don't usually do this because they just want to make their client happy. They're also adding a % profit onto any costs, so they also don't care... The short answer is, never agree to a fee without knowing usage. Don't show up to a gig, and not know usage. IF you show up and then walk away, you certainly are within your rights to do that, but it makes you look bad. You've agreed to the rate, the time and the shoot. You've made a commitment. Regardless of the terms, you're now going to put that shoot in a bind, and scampering for talent to replace you, and that's all they'll remember. She took the gig, tried to strong arm us, and when she couldn't, she bailed. Out her on the do not hire list... You'll stay on that list regardless of good job or bad job and the folks on that shoot - ad agency, production company, photographer, end client - will now all avoid you because you didn't take the time to clear all details before you showed up. Do not show up for shit gigs you don't want. I cast off FB all the time for low rate gigs, and I'm explicit about rate, usage, etc. I answer any questions with details. People still show up for a few hours of work on a Wednesday for a couple hundred bucks - because it's not for me to decide if you feel like making $200 on a Wednesday for getting in front of a camera. If you do, great. If you don't, I totally understand and don't blame you for not wanting to take the gig. I'll keep you on my list. This is how freelance, non union talent works. It's your choice. No one is forcing you to do anything.
