Extended warranties are a total scam, got one for my Mazda, but when the freeze plug came out at 3000 miles, they said they wouldn’t cover it because the extended warranty didn’t cover the cooling system. Basically, there were so many exemptions, that the extended warranty was useless.

The only complaint he had about his GMC is that it only comes in automatic He loves it. Much smoother less bumpy rocky and quieter ride and solid Has not had not 1 single issue with it since he bought it in 2017. It was a new left over got cheap (cuz it was a last years model!😂 saved $8k off the MSRP) He got it at the right time cuz reg gas prices here at that time got up to $4.75 a gal and diesel was even more.

I almost bought a used truck from a national used car dealer but found out before I signed that there was a known issue with some air pump. They offered an extended warranty for extra but I wasn’t sure because my past experience was the warranty did not cover everything they led me to believe they would. They brought in the service manager and he assured me that he could write up the service ticket to assure the warranty would cover any work. I realized I was in the company of crooks and walked out. Never been back.

@@cormaro13 Are you serious or delusional? I've seen videos that mechanics have posted of used cars that customers have bought and bring in for a rattle. Getting the thing up in the air reveals the frame is totally rusted through and that a piece of metal bar has been bolted across the gap and bolted on with bolts from Home Depot. Look up "Dealership Scams" and you see page after page of things dealers have tried, some going back to the 30's and using sawdust in a tranny to smooth it out long enough to get it off the lot. Scammers ARE crooks. The service rep just told me he could word the writeup to validate the warranty. Don't be naive. I use to be young and stupid, then I learned from my mistakes.

Yeah, I agree, these things sound like a total scam. The fine print probably reads that if your car breaks down on a day of the week that ends in 'Y', your 'warranty' is null and void. Scotty knows what the hell he's talking about and is a national treasure.

I got lucky with the one and only extended warranty I ever bought. It was for my 1996 Plymouth Neon. A cooling fan failed and my engine overheated in traffic at around 40K, blowing the head gasket and warping the heads. The EW picked up the entire cost. The lesson, though, wasn't that EW's are a good value. The lesson was not to buy crappy cars. That Neon was nothing but trouble. I traded it in at 63k miles, and never looked back.

It is my daily driver, I drive 124 miles round trip a day, 5 days a week. My transmission has NEVER been serviced, and it shifts like it should. I have replaced 1 set of plugs, 1 battery, 5 sets of tires, 1 set of rear brakes and 3 sets of front brakes, 1 water pump just last winter. I replace the 1pc belt every year, just because. I have replaced 1 throttle body 2 years ago. Other than that, it is all original. Believe it or not, even all of marker bulbs and turn signal bulbs are original. I have had to replace headlight bulbs twice. With 288k and running smooth as silk, I can and will NEVER complain about my Silverado. It has been the best vehicle I have EVER owned. Dave

It's still doing good despite my dad forgetting to change the oil. My 02 Envoy XL has almost 250,000, original engine, differential, rebuilt transmission, and mostly original suspension (outer tie rods and CV axles). It's odd to me how different GMC and Chevy build their vehicles even though they're EXACTLY the same but rebadged.

Nothing has been replaced except the in-tank fuel pump when it was nearly new. Just failed, no idea why. That’s it. I’ve got nothing bad to say about that Chevy truck. I have an '04 Sierra 1500 SLE RWD 5.3L with 213K on it. Aside from the very typical rusting rocker panels, there is nothing wrong with this truck. And I'm not a hard driver, but I don't baby it either. After all, it's a truck. It's not supposed to be shiny and with luxury items. I love this dang thing! 2 years ago, my son and I drove my grandson down to Daytona Beach for college. I towed his car, and we drove straight through. On the way back, when my son was behind the wheel, I looked over and said to him, "The 95 on the signs denote the interstate number, not the speed limit." V-8, baby!

My torque converter took a dump and ruined the whole transmission. The all-inclusive total was $6500 for a factory reman, my extended warranty covered all but $2200 because they wanted to replace it with a used transmission so I paid the difference for the factory reman... so the warranty saved me $4300.

I bought a 2014 Ram. The dealership pretended the best finance rate was 8%. I said sure but please give me 3 months no payments. I negotiated a price including all fees and taxes. In the finance office they charged me $500 for nitrogen tires. I paid the loan off a month later. After 3 months they called me and said I owed $500 for the interest on the loan. I said the loan is paid off and you won't get another cent from me. If you think I owe you $500 take it from the fee you charged me for air in my tires. I will never buy another new vehicle from a dealership. The whole 5yrs of ownership was awful due to having to work with the dealership. Never again!

Last I checked, everything that's connected to the powertrain is part of the powertrain and it's warranty, it's even in the dictionary what a power train is.
