Big goal, lots of training ahead. Interested in following your training & journey. I’ll up my 21km runs to 30, then +42 again. Will report back
I hate winter, the cold, the rain, the darkness, and yet, every year now, I'm hyped because in winter we get... the wintering ! This is my motivation to get out and run when I don't want to, to get uncomfortable, and to see if I can manage it, cant wait for this new series!

For real. Don’t love winter, therefore I just started a running streak since winter weather has is moving in. Don’t want to run in winter…time to start running in winter. Yesterday was cloudy, rainy, and 35 degrees. Got it done. Loving the uncomfortable challenge. It’s just what I needed
I've signed up for my first ultra next year, I'm a beginner endurance runner so it's 50k - but for me, it's this huge, scary, impossible sounding, amazing thing that terrifies me and excites me and makes me feel so alive. Your channel has been a huge inspiration to me, can't wait to see you tackle this challenge! I run because of my mental health too, a decade of bereavement, addiction, depression and undiagnosed ADHD had brought me to my knees. I feel like running has given me my life back. Thank you for everything you do, so excited to see this unfold!

Go for it.
im 16 years old andI hate training early morning before school and especially in the winter yet you always manage to inspire me to do so mate. Ive recently been getting into endurance training in preparation for the royal marines and you have been a huge part in my journey so far fergus. Thanks a lot man you are truly the most genuine and underrated fitness influencer out there. Honestly stick at it brother!
You've made me face my silence and im running 331kms this November for the 331 suicides recorded in 2022. What this has made me do is open up about my struggles of everyday life and its all because of you telling your story. Thanks fergus
How have you only got 91k followers? Content is fantastic mate and the challenges you have undertaken are mind-blowing. All the best for your future endeavours 💪🏼👍🏼
Absolutely stomping challenge, fair play and wishing you the very best Fergus.
I can't wait to watch your journey! It is so fun to see your progressions!
can't wait to follow this journey. Seeing how you tackle the day to day training is super interesting to me as I consider doing ultramarathons sometime in my future.
Great! Go on Fergus. Keep moving and keep inspiring us. To me you are a role model. Have been running marathons and triathlons for the past 2 years on top of some Calisthenics and Martial Arts. Seeing how you perpetually challenge yourself really helps me stay on the path you know. So thanks for putting yourself out there and telling your story. Your athletic journey is pretty mindblowing already and I'm thankful for all your content. Keep up the amazing work and best of luck for this absolutly crazy challenge! P.S. subscribed to the newsletter, good stuff
Every time I watch one of your videos I'm amazed as to how you don't have at least a million subscribers. Not only are the videos incredibly high quality/production value, they are inspiring and informative. Hope more people find this channel❤
Signed up! This is what got me interested in you and your channel, the endurance side of things, the double brutal. I'm so excited you've come back to it! Love the wintering series too. All the best with the training 💪🏻
Good luck, im sure you’ll smash this. Looking forward to watching your journey 💪
So excited to follow this preparation, currently having a super rainy stretch and turned back the clocks resulting in the shortest two months of our year here in the northern United States. Taking time to be intentional and plan what I want my wintering to look like. Will be jumping in the lake this week and start ramping up strength training and cycling in preparation for some long ski days in the mountains. Proud of you man, stay strong and spirited!
Awesome work man, I wish you all the best! Such an underrated channel, motivates me every video.
ive been following your trials and challenges for a few years now and i find your inspiration and outlook something that is worth listening to and feel that due to your motivation/inspiration that its given me and probably others fergus the kick to keep going and continue our own challenges as far as we can take them despite the fear and negativity that is sometimes said or presumed by others. i would wish you the very best for this particular challenge and by damn youll do it. good luck in your training and ultimate goal.
Just wanted to thank you! Your content, your way of thinking and attitude towards life and difficulties is giving me the little extra mental strenght that is needed to keep going when things get tough. You are an inspiration! May your journey be... whatever it will be. A leap into the unknown is going to be exciting and full lessons to be learned! U r the man!
So excited for this series. Like many other in these comments, you've been a massive inspiration to me and catalyst to me pushing myself further out of my comfort zone. Fully believe you'll be succesful in your latest endeavour
Can't believe I've just found your channel. Watched the last few videos and really enjoyed this one. Good on you Fergus, you're a legend and an inspiration mate. I've been in a really rough spot, almost flunked out of college after holding a 4.0GPA for 3 years in a law degree, and a few years ago completed a 100km orienteering race with about 2.5km of elevation throughout. Been inspired by this video, planning to get back into running and have signed up for a marathon in April 2024 with hopes to do an Iron Man in the future. Thanks for being so honest and raw - keep it up mate.
This was the very first video of yours that I saw..and there is no question whether I'll follow you or not. The passion you talk with, things you are doing and the way you are doing seems truly inspirational. All the best for the Big day(s)!!
Literally my favourite youtube channel. Started watching 2 months ago and so far I have run 300km, increased my strenght in the gym and have been on a self-development which I am extrememly proud of. And I even got my bodybuilding friend to join hybrid training with me. Thank you Fergus for all your content, I really look forward to it.
What you have done and continue to do is just absolutely incredible. No words. All the best, we’re all following and supporting along the way!
Awesome! Loving this!! I tried my fist trail marathon after just 5 weeks of the hill strong plan and got some huge plans for next year :D Im very hyped to see this years wintering, after this video im allready so hyped to go back to endurance training! You will crush the 250k in march💪
What a goal, I know you'll smash it and will be watching eagerly 💪💪
Epic stuff - well done for simply everything !! Great plan for a great reason…
Amazing challenge I look forward to the highs and lows of you moving forward
Unreal! Can’t wait to see the job get done👊🏼🏃🏼♂️ man in the arena
Outstanding big man, I’ll always admire your drive into uncertainty. Looking forward to helping if we can 🤙🏻
Fergus… you’re such an inspiration. Obviously your physical challenges are impressive but I continue to be inspired by your vulnerability with your past battles with mental health. It’s an important topic; certainly one I struggle with… and probably always will. But the lessons learned from the physical challenges and journey to those achievements have definitely helped with my internal woes. Thx again!!!
Love the channel and goodluck!
Well done you Furgus, I turn to you for your simple but direct talks and it helps me dig deep and fight my mental Battles whilst training and becoming a better Human. Thank you
I never ever comment but can I just say your film making is insane, felt like I was watching a documentary! The shots you get are amazing, can’t wait for the rest of the wintering!
Go and smash it, excited to see this journey!!!!
And just when I think you can’t get any cooler. So excited to follow this journey, especially through these winter months where it is no secret we all struggle more mentally, some are victims to this more than others, but journeys like this are instant reminders that we can do it. CANT believe you could receive any hatred about anything you do but thus the world we live in😂😃 we’ll be supporting you no matter what!!
Amazing!!! Enjoy the whole journey
The past 3 years I've followed you, the wintering series has been my favorite. I love winter. The cold, the wind everything about it makes me feel peaceful
You are a tough man Fergus. I walked the WHW a few years ago (admittedly with a 20kg back pack) and there were bits in there that made me want to cry - in a bad way! Haha! Your sticks are gonna get some good use! Can't wait to see your progress. All the best with your training!
Fergus you are mad man, also a freaking legend ! Smash it !
Been a while since commenting on one of your videos Fergus, but I feel absolutely compelled this morning - what an inspiring gentleman you are! And as an Irishman, i approve of your choice of reward pint wholeheartedly 😄 Can't wait to watch this journey.
Absolute madness surely?!? Best of luck Fergus, can't wait to see you smash it.
you got this Fergus, truly inspiring 👊
video quality is just getting better and better WOW!
One of the greatest and most underrated KZreadrs and one of the best 'hybrid athletes' out there
This shit gets me pumped! Great challenge, go on Fergus lad
sounds massive! Good luck!
Such a strong and powerful speech, no matter whatever happen you're definitely on the right path..
You’re going to smash it!!
Inspiration Fergus!!! The way you try regardless of potential outcomes, is why you are crushing it. We all can learn from this. All the best 😊
Legend. Jonny’s Full body Fridays bring me out in cold sweats just thinking about them 😅
Superb mate 😊🏴🍀
Awesome route. Enjoy it
Let's go man!!
U got this!
In 2021 I ran my first half marathon and was due to do my first full in 2022 followers by an ultra. Sadly I was then diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer and had to go into treatment. I’m now due to run that same half next April with a view to achieving my dream endurance race of 55 miles. My mental health has really struggled but having something booked to work towards my dream will get me out this winter.
Best of luck mate #BELIEVE
The clocks will change that weekend, great way to start British summer time!
I’m trying to convince myself to take part in the “fan dance” endurance event next summer over the breacon beacons. Never done an endurance event before but i’m going to give it a go.
You know what's funny, is that I'm watching this after my morning swim today and I've decided that I'm swimming the channel within the next 3 years! It's been in the back of my mind for a while but today I've decided it's going to happen!
Fergus, just listening to the why, it made me cry. I'm where you were at in 2014 and I feel my only real out is exercise. Watching you tackle the double brutal was inspirational to say the least. I wish you luck for the 250km

How are you doing brother? It's a hard time when the dark cloud of depression comes knocking but it's fantastic that you've identified exercise as a way to manage it. Keep going
This is the stuff that makes you different league to other prominent hybrids on here. Cant wait to see this
I used to be one of the "powerlifter that hates running" types and started watching your channel. I realized I didn't hate running because I hated running, I hated running because I was bad at it and was afraid of doing something hard. So I started running and am doing my first half marathon in a month. After that, my second powerlifting competition next year and then, as long as I stay healthy, a marathon or longer after. I did and am doing the hard work, but you inspired me to start. Thank you
Hey Fergus, look forward to following your journey, you're going to smash it!! I would recommend doing a two-camera set up if you want that aesthetically pleasing side shot. Using purely the side shot where you never engage with the camera, means it feels like you never engage with your audience. It feels like we as a viewer are watching a conversation we are not part off which can be pretty off-putting and unengaging for your audience, meaning people are more likely to switch off and not watch/continue the video. Just an idea, again really looking forward to following your adventure, good luck!
Jesus wept 🤣 This makes the Celtman look like a breeze. Looking forward to my own version of the wintering under your guidance! Seán
Love this
would love to see you at UTMB next year
You are the man
Good luck Fergus and don’t let the nay sayers in …… I’m starting my marathon training tomorrow at 52 and weighing in at 118kgs 😢 But I’m feeling very inspired by your videos Take care buddy
What a guy! Keep pushing! Makes me want to buy some merch haha

@@ferguscrawley95 man of your word!
In the immortal words of Frank Herbert - "Fear is the mind killer. It is the little death of all things. I will permit my fear to pass over me, and when it is gone, only I will remain." I go running before work and in the winter it's dark and cold and wet and it's intimidating to face whenever I get up. Watching your videos motivates me to get up in the morning and improve myself. I'm looking forward to this series of the wintering. I hope your training goes well and you can smash the challenge.
this is great!
I’ve seen from Omnia that your programming structure is/was essentially… Monday: AM: Heavy lower body PM: Sprint work (5x1km or 8x400m) Tuesday: AM: Heavy upper PM: swim drills or intervals Wednesday: AM: Turbo (sweet spot of your FTP) PM: Tempo run (threshold of heart rate) Thursday: AM: Volume swim Friday: AM: Full body (emphasis on pre-fatigue and accessories) PM: Liss run Saturday: AM or PM: Long zone 2 brick work Sunday: Rest Hypothetically, how would you structure 2 days of M.M.A/Muay Thai into this? Once again great video and the best fitness channel on this platform.
great video
Hope you succeed
A great guy for you to chat to is Woody Felton. He ran the 212 mile Race Across Scotland. Then tuned around and ran back the same route! A truly inspirational guy.
You got this Fergus
5:05 Holy shit I never realized how beautiful Edinburgh is, definitely need to visit there some time
Savage 💪
@ferguscrawley95 what is the best program to buy if I wanted to mimic the strength/metcons you are programming for yourself in this video? I run mountain ultras so was thinking the 100km plan would be best
Go on son 🔥
nice brah, only 1 pair of shoes for the whole thing? if so what shoe?
Guys get in here new wintering just dropped
Go on lad, can’t believe there’s people out there hating on the Ferg. You’re a class act

The correlation between high performers and past or current mental disorders Both are fueled by the same agitated energy that has to burn some way More kilos on the barbell, more and faster kilometers becomes such a desire

The worst part of this might well be when you run thru the Union Canal Falkirk Tunnel, lose GPS and cut 1km of your actual tracked miles 😬😬 All the very best! Looking forward to the next vid.
Next up: MOAB 240? 😏
Fergus the year after, "the double 250km " Edinburgh to Ben Nevis and back. You won't do it 🙄😅🤣
Come on now, Fergus. That's much too far to run in one go.
Your r mad
Grateful for your openness about Mental Health struggles @ferguscrawley95 as someone who has also struggled with his mental health.Cant wait to see what's ahead 😁
