One of my favorite lines ever, "you're loud dogma is just a ruse, to shackle all the fools!" VOB song called PMS, first song of theirs i heard, great song , different sound from some of their other songs, but one of my favorites.

You ended with a good point. I not only like them a lot, I think they are an important band. And yes, they have endured a lot of hostility and even threats because of what they do, and it just motivates them to do more.

I've seen them live, in a much tinier,grubbier venue. They are tiny, but are just fearsome on stage. Widi (bassist) is a monster talent. They always cite Rage as one of their most important influences. Thank you for checking this out--I just love this band.

There is a docu about them.. It almost made me cry.. The struggle they went through was enormous. These girls really had to fight for their right to play. Also they are the sweetest girls you can imagin.. Just watch how they react when they can talk to Tom Morello from RATM on their channel.

@@NittPicc Im Dutch and the mini docu is in German which i can understand. I dunno if English translation is available. but its called.... Indonesische Frauenband begeistert Wacken mit krassem Heavy-Metal frpm the channel Weltspiegel Reportage.. @ 4.25 one of them says.. We only had 3 posibillities.. Get married, get married to a person your parents choose or leave and work hard. BUT EVEN without translation you will feel the positivity of these girls.

@@ThirstyTunaTaco While the documentary's in German, you can hear the band members speaking English. No closed captions, but my very fragmentary understanding of German in combination with the English and the looks on Marsya, Sitti and Widi's faces was more than enough to carry me through. I highly recommend the documentary even to people who don't speak German.

This band had effectively done nearly all covers until the official release of the album RETAS which contains 10 original songs, released in 2023. These girls have always fought the good fight. They are a great live show. I told you when I went to go see them live Widi on bass won my heart. She was phenomenal. The anger here is real. Part of the live performance magic is the genuineness of what they are doing.

You can hear her vocals go in another radically different direction in "School Revolution." It is musically their best work (in my opinion).

VOB has matured a lot, meaning tighter as a band, not afraid to try something unexpected and push the limits of their religion.

I love this cover, for all the differences, the poor sound, bad lighting, it really captures the rage, but a different rage against a different machine. Heard Many covers of this song over the years . . But, this is hands-down my favorite. Marsya's stage presence is always good, but she has the real Rage inside to totally SELL this song. And the arrangement is Great. They stay within their musical limitations and make this song Their Own. I recommend the earlier comment with the link to the Tom Morello interaction. Their 1st album on 2023 was huge. I played from the 1st song and like it all. The most tight song was Age Oriented show their musicality. But the most important song was What the Holy Nobel Today, it will bring peace to world.

They start by age of 14 from 0 to learn music instruments which most musicians normally start in early age. In many cases they are autodidact with surprise musical perspective performances(unique energetic testy full sound with own flare). Tom Morello contacted them to perform in the USA in 2017/18, but it was cancelled rgd. visa problem (I can not imagine if they fully prepared at that time for big stage that they never did before. They are really fearless trio) First Europe tour was in 2021 I think 4 countries, e.g. the biggest one was Transmusicales de Rennes in France. They will perform in Glastonburry UK in June 2024(3rd Europe tour). It will be sofar the first indonesian band can perform in Glastonburry. Amazing!

Hey, great review of this awesome band! There actually is a better quality version, of at least the drums. Here they mixed the drums to sound like wet cardboard boxes lol. If I can find it I'll post it here.
