I believe that Zion has good intentions from these videos but it also important he sheds light on the full scope of living abroad. Its very wrong to convert someones earning abroad to equate outright prosperity. wen you take away your tax and rent alone, almost 50% of that earning may be gone. there are other bills like water, electricity, telephone, car etc that he pays that he may not disclose. He will eat, he will take bus/train or buy fuel. I'm not saying its bad to travel but if you let people know the full context, they make a better judgment.

@@mohammedtashmit5353 who told you 500 cedis can’t get you groceries for the month . It depends on what sort of groceries. Mind you I’m not making an equivalent comparison. It’s not advisable to compare both currencies . The fact that the cedi has depreciated doesn’t have anything to do with my statement. My point is you can’t earn €2000 and compare it to Ghana cedis . So what if all things being equal the 1 cedi = 1€ ? Earnings €2000 a month in Europe is actually base salary. Take out rent utilities Groceries like you mentioned and transport. How much are you left with ?

@@lafete6863 You're still left with far more than you'll be left with if you were an average degree-holding salary worker in Ghana 😂. How many cleaners in Ghana earn even 1000 cedis after tax?? Do they even pay taxes and health insurance??

  • @lafete6863

@@user-pc4ut4hv7s you’re missing the point . The money you earn in Europe doesn’t have anything to do with Ghana . When you’re goin to make a transaction in Germany you don’t convert the money to Ghana cedis . I agree with the fact that it’s better than what many people make in Ghana but in Europe , that’s not a lot of money. It’s just decent enough to keep you going until you improve upon your skills to earn a better salary . A comfortable salary in Europe for a month is €3k and a little over . Mind you I said comfortable

@@lafete6863 Again you're completely wrong. One of the main reasons why the advanced world presents so many advantages over poor developing regions is due to high income equality standards. You assume because there is high income inequality between low and high income earners in Ghana, it is the same in the developed world, but that is false. You also wrongly assume that because low salaried workers in Ghana experience low standards of living, that translates similarly in developed regions, but you are wrong there as well. Minimum wages are more strictly and fairly enforced in the advanced world behind the basic principle that even the lowest earners are deserving of a dignified and high standard of living. Therefore the government enforces that employers/ companies pay even the lowest-skilled workers very well to make sure that they live as comfortably as possible, even when compared to the highest earners. This ensures that there is very low income disparity between workers (see The Gini index). In other words, there is a far lower income inequality gap between the lowest and highest workers in the developed world compared to poor developing regions. The point of the minimum wage here is to ensure that workers are paid as high as is acceptable to be able to sustain a satisfactory standard of living, however it's totally unenforced in Ghana. Therefore low income earners in Ghana endure far more poorer standards of living, compared to high earners. This is why for example, you are more easily likely to find a medical doctor, a professor and a cleaner in Germany taking the same public transport, or patronising the same shopping malls or entertainment avenues. In Ghana, this is rarely the case. It's far more common for the lawyer to usually shop at Accra Mall, whilst the cleaner goes to Makola or Agbogbloshie market. And it is very rare for professors and medical doctors in Ghana to be patronising the same troskis which are patronised by cleaners, carpenters and market women.

30,00ghc is about 2,300 or so euros. Not a whole lot of money in Germany. We should stop this attitude of converting foreign currency into Ghana cedi which makes it looks like a bunch of cash when the person does not even live in Ghana. It makes ppl in Ghana feel like oh he's making so much. Then they'll start hitting him up asking for some help cos they've converted how much he makes to ghc. Ask him how much he pays for rent, monthly cost for food, phone bill, power etc. People are really trying to make a living abroad, but this our way of converting how much they make to Ghana cedis right away when we hear of it is not good at all
