Is Patty a Shiba Inu German Shepherd mix? Her ears remind me of Shiba. Face & coat seem like red coat color GSD.

While I can understand not having warm fuzzies about people who "drop and run", I do appreciate that they still had enough humanity to bring the animal somewhere they thought it would be safe. Think of all those who just dump their animals in the wild or industrial areas to fend for themselves. Those are the folks to be angry with.

There's been a rash of people dumping litters of puppies deep in the woods and somehow people found them, dragged them out and were looking for homes for them.... How mean spirited do you have to be to go to those lengths to conceal those puppies? That's just evil....

I don’t think I could ever get used to those sad eyes you must see every time you meet a new dog? Thank you Rocky for being so kind hearted!

@@calimero600 Ok, I guess I have to be more specific. It looks like they did not physically abuse this dog. I agree it's still abuse to give a dog up...for no good reason. The point being, we don't know why this person turned the dog in. The owner could have died. The owner could have gone into a nursing home etc.

The problem with pursuing someone who ditched their dog is that you could make people afraid to take the unwanted dog to a shelter. The scary alternative is that they could abandon them in a place where they wouldn't be cared for, or worse, destroy them.

Yes! It’s true! But if people offered fostering and others to fund it and rescues had time to network more people might just be willing to hold off dumping them to keep them until there was a better answer!

I totally agree with you. I really try not to judge, but most times it's very difficult. Dogs are full of love & loyalty. Why can't people be like that as well. 🌻

Some shelters don't have nice people like Rocky's shelter seems to have.

She is super sad because she doesn’t understand why she was abandoned.😞 I feel so sad for her. She’s such a special dog. She’s so sweet and so full of feelings. Whoever gets to adopt her is going to be extremely lucky.🩷🙏🏼🥹

Not a stray dog by her apprearance, not too thin or worn nails and toughened paws and roughened fur or parasites - in short, even given 5 days in shelter, she looks like a dog who was reasonably cared for. Hope she finds a very loving home.

If we start penalizing people for dropping off dogs they might do something worse. Penalize those who abuse, not those who drop off or surrender dogs. We can seldom know the whole story. Rocky is an angel on earth❤

Right, back in the day I often took dogs who were loose in the street and in danger from traffic down to the police station so their owners stood a chance of locating them. The police would relocate them to a shelter and the paperwork trail was good for anyone trying to find their strayed dog, most of whom most likely found a hole in the fence or jumped over a gate when the owner was not around. You have to get out of this thing of being judgmental of people taking pets to the shelter or of losing their pet, If I had thought people would think that *I* was cruel to get the dog in a shelter I would have thought twice about getting involved and those dogs would probably have been run over. The boot was on the other foot when my own highly intelligent mutt worked out that she could open the front door of the house and vanished. How glad was I that someone like myself took her to the police station and I got her back from the shelter in 24 hours. Shelters are good, safe temporary places for dogs, a whole lot safer than the highway for sure

Her owner may have gotten sick or died. And family may have been ashamed to admit they weren't going to take care of her. She does look worried.

There are situations where you can't take care of an animal. My son almost died after a heart operation and as a result he could not come home to his cat....cat litter poised a serious health concern. He gave up his cat to a local shelter and was shamed and harassed as a result (even though it was the responsible thing to do). A couple of years later he was in the position to adopt a shelter dog and it has worked out beautifully. People can't always fix the problem ... but their concern still matters.

100%. There's so many reasons why someone might have to given up a pet. It's hard to imagine, especially when we're told they dropped her and ran. But there's numerous reasons why that could have been, even down to it being too hard to say good bye, or being scared of the perceived backlash of surrendering a pet.

It was definitely the right thing to do. If family and friends are unable (for any reason) to adopt the cat, a shelter or rescue is the correct option. Although when we needed to surrender an animal, we spoke to the vet first. We wanted her to ensure the guinea pig was healthy: as it happened, her niece was eager to have one! Perfect and lucky timing.

Patty looks like my first rescue dog Cash. We figured she was a Golden Shepard. She was 1 1/2 yrs old when we adopted her. Cash was so malnourished and sick that they didn’t spay her before we brought her home. 3 weeks later when we went to have her spayed found out she was pregnant with 4 puppies. We presumed whoever had her before us knew and didn’t want to take care of her. She was such a great girl, perfect for us as first time dog owners. She was 13 when she passed. If I lived in California I would adopt Patty! She’s beautiful. 🐕💜

No, I've never seen her before besides I live in Colorado, I just have a knack for "hearing" what animals are saying/thinking/communicating. Been working with wild and domestic critters all my life.

having had gsds since 1968, i hope she gets a loving home -- i can't imagine why anyone would throw her away.

She's a very well-behaved dog, especially considering the circumstances. She's afraid but isn't showing any anger (who could blame any dog for being that?). I think she's been in a loving home, her condition is so much better than many that come in. Maybe her owner lost their job or home? It's too easy to accuse people who are acting out of desperation but who are too embarrassed and upset to tell the truth. Let's not judge - were she in a bad condition, terrified of people to the point of cowering and crying, I would think differently, but she's absolutely known love.

Non sense! Stop Impowering abuse! Call it what it is! In order to change things people need to face truth! This dog is traumatized! They are deeply upset after being rejected and abandonment! This could be avoided if they reached out and received help! If the community steps up to care with a foster home saves a donkey g so much trauma! Not to mention their lives! So many are killed! It’s a Holocaust! Silent bc people dump and run! People like that should never have the freedom to have another animal! And we must change laws to ensure renters are able to have their whole family!

I can see that she was from a home too. My German shepherd is very much like this when I'm not around. Barely eats , wants treats, or plays because they miss their owner so much. Also highly aware because they're waiting to see them again. I hope this baby opens up to a new life with love and doesn't remember the abandonment.

I think this little dog was looking for his owner to come get her. I wish people realized dogs grieve when they are abandoned. I surmise from her grading that she’s definitely not Ben shown much or any affection. Patty is a gorgeous dog. My husband had a German Shepard when he was younger and she looks a lot like her. I’m praying she’ll find the perfect forever home. Thank you Rocky for your kindness for these dogs. ❤ ❤🐾

@@GhostBlueEternalFlame If that’s a Malinois, my name is Rip Van Winkle. You might be able to make the case that’s it’s 50%… but I still highly doubt it unless it’s 50% GSD.

She doesn't seem malnourished or abused, just unwanted. No point in chasing down the "good Samaritan" when the resources are needed for real abuse and neglect cases. It's not illegal to not want a dog, and they kinda did the right thing by the drop off. She'll find a great forever home. She's young, and pretty, and sweet. If I weren't 3000 miles away, I'd adopt her. I adore GSDs!!

I Love it when Rocky usually always tells all these Angel Fur Babys " Hi girl / boy your okay, you did not deserve this, you are Loved by us all, your going to be okay now, I promise you, you don't deserve this, I promise someone is gonna give you a home, you deserve it " Rockie always says these words or just about similar & keeps this promise to these fyr baby's because he goes to end of the Earth to forfill this promise & he usually does. All these fur baby's mean so much to Rocky & I Feil he never rests till he knows he has fulfilled this promise to them . Thank You Rocky you Are a Angel to Animals. When you last day on Earth comes Saint Frances has a place by his side for you. I Feil the dog belonged to the Woman the only thing I can say about it is I'm pleased she didn't drop the dog just anywhere it's better she took her to Dog shelter the woman may Feil embarrassed or simply she had to give dog up not by chouse. Not trying to make excuses for the woman but no one knows what goes on in people's lives & like I say it's better the way she did it than just dump Dog to wander streets & have to defend herself, savage for food so maybe dog might be in better place

Patty looks like a GSD mix. She’ll be a great family dog, loyal and protective of her family. Hope she finds a good home soon.

She's definitely a Sheba/German Sheppard mix. My fur baby Patty is the spitting image of my girl. My fur baby passed away in 2015 when she was 14 years old. She had a double fur coat and when you became her friend she howled every time she saw you. She was talkative from the beginning and she adopted me from a shelter too. I always think dogs adopt people and not the other way around.

I can follow you with the breed. There is this extra front and eyes of the sheba and more yellow than most GSD-Malinois. Very nice mix. Cool and sweet. Love her mystery 😀.

The first thing I thought of when I saw her was I'd take her home and name her honey. She has all the rich, golden hues of honey and has such a sweet, sweet look in her eye. And, so intelligent. Between whatever her adoption cost is, supplies and travel, my wallet would be that much lighter if I had a way to take her right now. And, my house and car would have extra insulation.. GSDs shed like crazy. 😂 What a beautiful girl! ❤

Good chance that she's a Carolina Dog (or American Dingo). They don't trust easily, but amazing companions once that is earned.

Okay I am glad you mentioned this. Especially cause I am at the shelter and it's messy. I wash them. I wait until the converse are on sale and buy a couple pair then when I get home they go in the washing machine with bleach so I don't get my dog Kobe sick. Then they sun dry.

Im thankful for Rocky who does everything he can to help these babies. My heart goes out to these an who do nothing but give unconditional love. Also a loving owner could die suddenly, or have an operation that drastically curtailed their strength and abilities.

Rocky, you know as well as i do that dogs can sense energy, that dog already understands what type of person you are within the first 30 seconds.... That dog looks sad because she is confused as to why she is there.

Story after story of abuse. Oh Lord have mercy on our little friends, open people's heart for them.

This Shepard just breaks ones heart. A puppy takes a lot of work. I love puppies; who doesn’t. The dog looks brokenhearted . I hope the puppy finds good people!

She was initially afraid whenever you tried to touch her or reach for her. But when she sat down and leaned against you, that was like you said the upmost of respect and trust. I’m a member but I thank you for what you do. It means the world to so many of us.

There is a lack of trust in those eyes for sure. I think she will give someone her trust for sure but it will take time.

She looks just like our Belgian Malinois, albeit she has much less black in her face. Our girl is exactly the same age and same mannerisms. We also rescued her from the local animal shelter and she had PTSD. We've had her just over a month and she's a delight, very chilled, intelligent and no signs of the PTSD. They are a breed of dog that needs a specific type of owner or they don't do well. As for the person who left her, I don't think they should be judged - you don't know the story and everyone deserves compassion.

I love sensitive babies who want to stay by my side always. These babies give me companionship, unconditional love, and support. I would adopt this baby if I lived in the USA. I live in Egypt now. Every baby I had was a sensitive baby who wanted to be with me always. I enjoy babies like her. You are so fantastic, Rocky, with every personality.

Feel so bad for her not eating or drinking makes me nervous hopefully she will have some food..am so so sad. So well behaved as I can see. Love you Rocky for being so patient with her. ❤love from 🐾🤗

Poor Patty, those sad eyes are so hard to see! She is beautiful and I hope she gets a home quickly.

How Rocky hasn't lost faith in people... is beyond. Each time I see an abandoned dog video or something, it just boils my blood.

Judgment aside for the way she was cruelly betrayed, she's beautiful and young enough to regain her trust in humans again. My figers are crossed for her happy ever after and i'll keep checking out her updates when they're posted.

She looks almost identical to a dog I had years ago, Nikki.... She acts like my Nikki, too. We had adopted her from a shelter in Denver. She was extremely intelligent and one of the best dogs anyone could ever have. It looks like Patty will be, too. I hope Patty gets a great home with lots of love and fun.

The mix of sadness and anxiety is so heart breaking. Thank you for doing this. More shelter dogs need someone to show how great they can be with a little patience and time.

Many dog owners are struggling to feed themselves and surrender their beloved pets out of desperation. I knew of Seniors actually eating cat food in order to survive. Sad. I lost my dog last April 17TH, boy was he struggling to hang on, couldn't walk and was losing control of his bowels and bladder, I still shed tears over his loss.

Seniors have been known to eat cat food to "survive" for decades...or so the stories go. A can of tuna or chicken would be a lot smarter.

Those eyes break my heart. So glad you help these poor babies. That is a smart dog, she is interested in everything. She will makes someone an awesome dog. I don't know if I would keep talking about the person that dropped the dog off. If people feel uncomfortable bringing them somewhere safe, they will start dropping them off somewhere unsafe, like on the side of the road, or out in the wilderness.

On January 7th 2023 I've adopted a girl similar to this young lady. She was 7 months old that time. Found in the field - no chip, no name, no home. Abandoned, lonely, scared. We cannot see into minds of these dogs, what they have been through. But as humans we can help them.
