It’s very easy to be skeptical about the AirPods, and I was when Apple announced the third-generation models. But, all it took was to put them on to find out just what sets them apart from other headphones at the price. Because it's certainly a crowded market.

This is so true. I 100% love this about this channel. I know it takes more effort to get out of the studio, but honestly the payoff is so worth it. On another note, it’s super interesting to see the outdoor design similarities between my home Sydney vs Vancouver. I feel like over the last 10-20 years a lot of cities have gone through a similar renovation of their foreshore areas for one.
The production quality is next level.

Yep its the formula most I-product or general Apple content producers ( who have the means ) use... I feel like there is a production recipe all these content makers pull from, and it borrows from apples own marketing and on stage work quite a bit. Its hard to put into certain terms, but it just feels very apple-ie

It's kinda funny that the AirPods Pro is now cheaper on Amazon than these, at 159 bucks, compared to 169 bucks for these. As a happy owner of the AirPods Pro, I'd happily choose the Pro over these any day, especially since they're cheaper now.

I still love my AirPod pro, I got them after watching the review Linus did quite a while ago. Before my airpod pros I had owned a lot in ear wired and wireless in ear headphones and was never quite happy with any of them, some were better for calls, some better for music, but after getting the pros I have used nothing else. Truly perfect. After the right airpod development a problem with noise cancellation and transparency mode, I was impressed with Apple swapping it out free of charge within an hour of calling and being out of warranty

Honestly… I know most KZreadrs keep proclaiming that the AirPods Pro are sooo much better, but I can’t stand ANY earbuds with silicone tips, and I’ve tried a lot. I have yet to find any that don’t irritate my ears or fall out, so that’s why I stick with regular AirPods. I even got a headphone jack version of wired Apple EarPods to use with non-Bluetooth devices just because Apple is the only company that can get silicone-less earbuds right.

I have the opposite issue. I can usually find some silicon tips that provide a good seal and stay in reasonably well but I have an issue with airpods falling out since they don’t fit my ear canal well. They’re useful when sitting down and doing stuff elsewhere though.

I was in the exact same boat as you, I had gen 1 AirPods from release and loved them but they recently died and I needed a replacement. I bought the new gen 3 AirPods right when they came out! But the bigger heads on them and new shape made them actually hurt my ears vs the old design that I couldn’t feel at all. The pros went on sale the other day and I bought them, turns out the silicone tips aren’t quite as bad as I thought, especially compared to the month of sore ears I developed with the new AirPods. I had my dad try the new AirPods and the bigger heads still fit in his ears great so I gave them to him

@@hahaiseewhatyouredoing9086 Probably the large size and lower portability compared to Bluetooth earbuds.
I'm from the time before silicone tips became a thing and there's a good reason they're in almost every earbud today. I remember the first time I was able to use my first sony earbuds with silicone tips, and OMG, it was a complete game changer, suddenly I could hear amazing music coming from my discman like never before, I could hear amazing highs and lows, I could hear amazing things no matter if I was on the bus, school or just in my room enjoying the possibility of hearing things I've never heard before on my favorite tracks. I never went back to not silicone tips earbuds and I'm just restarting to discover open, over-the-ear headphones, but the silicone tips gave something to earbuds cheap and high-end that wasn't there before. The new airpods have an "innovative" form factor that I'm sure helps to bring the quality of audio to a non silicone tip design better, but I'm also sure it just can't get to the same level, it's interesting that these type of earbuds are getting popular specially in the apple community, but I would never go back to an earbud that doesn't get me the same audio experience than silicone tips can give you

I was a die-hard "No, I'm not putting something in my ears. It's open buds or cans." For so many years. Then I got a job where I was forced to wear ear plugs at work and once I got comfortable with ear insertion I tried in ear monitors and was blown away. I can enjoy music *this* good, just out and walking around, or while traveling with something so compact. Never looked back

I wish they'd highlight a bit more what it is to work with a mixed ecosystem, though. I have a Mac Mini and a Macbook, but I use Android because some of the tools I simply require can't run on an iPhone without jailbreaking it. I don't want to use my work iPhone just to adjust my earphones, either. So in the end I am stuck using almost anything but Apple's audio devices, regardless of how good they are, because my phone isn't really compatible even though it's just a Bluetooth device and Apple could have easily spent a single FTE on making an Android app as well.

PC user thats shopping for an iPad (and some airpods) over here! I just want to say how great this channel is. There's a lot of either "too enthusiastic" Apple die-hard reviewer or, on the other end of the spectrum, Apple haters reviewers out there. But not much quite like Jonathan and Mac Address. Aside from the obvious high production quality and attention to details, I like how you bring a great balance of understanding how great the Apple experience can be, but without getting too "fanboy" and still pointing out their flaws. Thanks for this quality content and I'm looking forward for what comes next!
I traveled to Vancouver in September and stayed in Surrey during my trip (a lot farther than I expected…), but this is the first video I’ve seen from LMG that I recognize the location, knowing that the LMG offices are in Surrey. I’ll never forget those double bridges with one for cars and the other for the metro/subway.
It’s nice to see a refresh in the base model, especially the AirPods Pro like design
I’m so glad that these don’t have silicone tips and that in general apple provides these. I can’t use silicone tips, my ear canal is too weird for them and they fall right out, they don’t hold in my ears at all. But these are *SO* comfortable, so nice, and so pleasant to wear over longer periods of time. I’m really happy that apple is one of those companies that gives us the choice because not everyone can wear silicone / gummy tips.
Love your videos. Covered it from every angle possible. The ear wax part was unreal. Great production value. NEAT
I would love these. Just for the form factor. But the added fun sound… that’s another bright side. I have the Airpods Pro but I recently started mixing between using it and my OG wired Earpods. Man this design may be a bad fit for some people, but I love it and when it works, it REALLY works.
I have a pair of the 3rd gen and yeah, I love the fact I can get good quality audio, without the pressure of noise cancellation and discomfort of the rubber tips. For them select needs along with the apple ecosystem stuff, they're honestly the best thing ever

Exactly, and I can lay on my side in bed with them in and not have a silicone tip dig in to my ear , I had the Samsung buds pro and they hurt my ears after a half hour or so , had 2nd gen AirPods for 2 years now until one didn’t charge anymore and just got 3rds now
Just got a pair to replace my failing first gens and they’re great. The sound is noticeably better but it is a little more difficult to hear the outside world, even when they aren’t playing anything compared to 1st gen.
Your style of reviews are amazing. Storytelling camera quality. Camera movement etc
I didn‘t realize you lived in the Vancouver area! So cool, hope you‘re safe during the crazy weather recently.
I just started watching Mac Address yesterday on a lazy Saturday. Despite being all-in on non apple products (aside from my iPhone) I’m still captivated by Jonathan as a presenter. It’s a great plus that my girlfriend can watch and actually get interested in a tech video too. You guys kill it on MAC addresses. I don’t know if it’s just being an underdog to LTT that makes you go above and beyond, but I’m marathoning these videos and I can’t wait for more.

The battery in the case of my 2nd gen let go a few days ago. I’m in love with the 3rd gen. I’ve now had all 3 and always been happy. The pros have those silicone tips which for a segment of the population who have higher water content in their ear wax, are deeply uncomfortable.
Excellent video as usual! 👌🏼 Could you tell us more about the issues you experienced between AirPods and the 24" iMac please?
The editing is so good!
Thanks, this is just what I was waiting for ( just ordered mine)
ok so at 1:59 when that airpod activation sound played i joined a discord call at the EXACT second and the airpod sound and discord sound played in absolute harmony and it was amazing
This channel is the best addition to LMG by far. Quality content!
Seriously nailed this subject down for me. I will upgrade from my typical AirPods to these. Thank you 😊
Great voice recording while outside! And great quality!
I prefer silicon tipped ear buds because it naturally isolates the outside sounds by blocking them via the silicon tip. It also doesn't hurt my ears the way the molded ones do while fitting perfectly.
i have airpods pro and purchased third party foam tips to go with them. they’re awesome, the silicon ones kept falling out unlike the foam ones
Yep. That’s me, always wearing my AirPods Pro’s in transparency mode. I feel like I’m missing out on the world around me if I can’t hear it. When I had first gen AirPods I would always wear just one so the other ear was open. I can never go back to earbuds that don’t offer some sort of transparency.
The more videos Jonathan posts, the more I like his style. Those vids are on another level. Somewhat similar to mkbhd style ❤️
....the outdoor audio is GREAT on this vid...
I got these for myself recently, I tried the linkbuds but they just wouldn’t stay in my ear. I got lucky and got a new pair for £130, for comparison in the UK my local store sells the older AirPods for £119 so I feel I got a good deal. I’m quite happy with them and the Apple magic is quite nifty with my iPad.
I have these as my first wireless earphones and the only issue I have with these so far is, that I fling them across the room occasionally when taking off my face mask in a hurry
I like the sound cut in the edit when talking about connection problems
After watching this video, I might have to cop a pair of the 3rd gen AirPods. I currently own the pros but I mainly use transparency mode most of the time plus they get earwax more easily
They are pretty great for those of us who hate IEMs but still want some earbuds that sound good and are pocketable. While I wouldn't call them audiophile they do sound pretty good when compared to my X2HR's that I use at my desk. I was lucky though the fit is good for me and they don't seem to fall out. No isolation at all though like wearing open back headphones you hear EVERYTHING around you. My only real complaint is I wish apple would come up with a way to replace the batteries since they will end up being replaced I'm guessing in 2-4 years.
This channel is sooo enjoying to watch
the quality of the production is amazing, i dont even have an apple device, but i love this videos
I bought AirPod Pros and they sounded really good and best thing was the way they release the pressure from your ear. Unfortunately they didn't fit my ears. I needed to adjust them all the time, even with 3rd party ear tips, so I sold them. Good thing is that they keep their value :D Maybe I could try these AirPods, but I would like to have ANC.

The battery life on these headphones kzread.infoUgkxfcgbtZkf0B7t-ZSQGpzARDR0fqMdcrVW has been great! I use them regularly at work to listen to podcasts and they hold up a few days before needing a recharge. I was also a bit concerned that they would knock off Apple headphones but they are the real deal!
Just want to say that I am a PC and Android guy, but your content is next level. I watch every video.
The cinematography and the narration is great. IEMs with sillicone tips and a wire. I am not willing to use wireless because of batteries and most importantly latency. Any latency above 0.1 second is noticeable to me.

MA most case shooting outside. It feels much vivid on the big display.
I use a MacBook Pro, an old iPad Pro and a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phone. The S21 Ultra came with the Buds Pro, but I don't really like in ears, so I didn't use those a lot yet. Also: for noise cancelling, my over ear Sony WH-1000XM3 phones are way better than any in ears! So, I found a deal on the Air Pods 3 and I decided to give it a try. They do sound a lot better than I expected! And they are far less annoying than in ears. Battery life is very good. In only use them with the Mac and the iPad, but that's fine. Just one con: they are not very firm in the ears. If you shake your head, they will not fall out immediately, but I had them fall out spontaneously already, just because they tend to move a bit in my ears while I wear them.
I use the airpods pros with complie foam tips with ANC always on. Couldn't be further away from the non pros
Running out of budget, is it still recommended to buy 2nd generation AirPods?

This isn't exclusive to Apple. Earbuds from other companies also have their own cases where you can't put other earbuds even from the same company, for example you can't put AirPods Pro in AirPods 3 case or Galaxy Buds 2 in Galaxy Buds Pro case.
You can swap for third party foam tips on AirPods Pro.
I wish I can test out a pair of Airpods/Airpods Pros to see if they can at least fit inside of my ears. My ears aren't friendly to earbuds, and I need to stick to (over-the-ear) headphones but then my ears get sweaty.
After having used Airpods Pro for 1.5 years, there is no way I am ever buying headphones without ANC again.
