As a PBA card holder bowling league on a 5 man team... Its tough to focus on yourself and everyone else. Guys ask "what should I do?" And its tough because their execution isn't consistent. I just point them in the area they need to be with which ball and tell them to execute the shot. Tournaments are kinda nice because I can focus on myself haha. Great content Darren!

So, I've found my way to the channel fairly recently, and having watched all the current league videos, I've been slowly wading through some of the older content. LOVE all the analytics and critiques of this particular night! So educational for those of us just starting out. Maybe bring back some of the analytics in the newer videos! Of course, with Lance, it's all about the comedic relief lol. Thanks for putting these out there!

it was so awesome how you were helping your friend during league, i sometimes need that. ive been a 120+ league bowler for around 3 of my 6 years of bowling.

I know you are trying different balls each week for different scenarios but if you were to throw your normal stuff which balls would you throw. Always a pleasure to see your videos and how smooth and effortless it seems for you.

I love watching as the lanes progress. I feel like it is helping me watching what you do to adjust. Can’t wait for next weeks League vid!

I'll say this much, as someone who just started bowling league again after 9 years away, finding these videos by KZread recommendations has been a blessing. Darren has made bowling fun for me again. Which may not make sense but it's how it feels to me.

This made me feel better about my bowling lol .. I bowl on house pattern for leagues, but yall only had 2 players... we have 4-6 person teams on each lane so it is extremely hard as the lane is different on every frame after 6 people so I always get down on myself struggling to stay in the 190-200+ range

Darren i love me some pearl bowling balls. Solids are good when the lanes are calling for early read. Hybrids if you need just a little more length. But pearls are more of my go too.

what spare ball does jesse use?

I love the Crux pearl by Storm, but the senior league I bowl in has changed the pattern. Now I find it almost impossible to score with it. Looking to go to a Black Rino Urethane.

Pretty cool he asking question about why certain pins was left. And do you think about how you pick up your spares. I have noticed for myself. That once I go left. I need to go back right with ole faithful. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Next week Darren you should only use urethane. Bring out the pitch black, pitch purple and fast pitch. That aside it's cool to see how much you are helping your partner. I know when I was 18-19 and PBA pros took the time to help me out on the lanes it was invaluable for me.

When you say “super slow wheel” what is your speed reading at the pins? Typically 13ish at the pins when I’m hooking 10 or more boards is normal for me but I’m sure that’s very slow for pros

Straight ball is great for single pin spares. However, I always throw a slight hook at multiple pin spares!

Strongly disagree. You can get away with it on THS. Do not want to hook at spares if there's any desire to shoot sport shot...period. 34ft is going to be way different than 44ft. If using a spare ball, the mark is always the same. Only spares that require hook are if there's "sleepers." E.g. double wood and 3-6-9-10. Darren's pal eventually wants to bowl sport shot so is working on throwing straight at spares.

Darren, In league bowling you need to bowl using 3 different balls in rotation. Not counting your spare ball. It will help your swing and consistency overall. Seriously. I had to stop as everyone else was complaining about it because I'd average 700 + most night.. give it a try, you'll be able to have fun with it.

From what I’ve heard it’s a good ball for beginners, hooks a fair amount. I’d suggest looking up review videos for the ball on KZread, I know there are some!

I think you should just throw it on a 300 game. All resetting will do is make you wait extra time after already throwing two shots. Meaning you're more likely to miss. Due to psychology

I strongly disagree with that. I didn’t mean rerack just for psychological advantage; I meant when the rack is bad. In the video, Darren scoffs at the idea of reracking during league, even though it’s a terrible rack, which I totally understand. I was just curious at what point someone like him would actually rerack a bad rack in league. Like let’s say you’ve got front 35 going for 900 and the rack comes down bad - obviously you’d rerack that.

Without going into detail, the glove protects my bad left-hand. I wear a golf glove on my right hand to warm up in practice. I tried bowling with a golf glove last year, like Pete Weber but it wasn't eas y. I have bad arthritis in one of my right fingers.
