Reactions can be prioritised through donation at my Givell site. app.givell.co/profile/wDsh9FX...
WHY AM I DONG IT THIS WAY?
A lot of channels do Patreon or KZread Memberships at a cost to the viewer which puts a lot of content behind a paywall, meaning it is pay to view, and a large amount of the subscriber base miss out on a lot of content, or the quality of the content available to non members reduces. I don’t like this approach.
My way - EVERY one will get to see ALL content. If you aren’t in a position to donate - you still get to see ALL content and your current experience of the channel will NOT change at all. If you do want to support the channel then you get to decide how I prioritise the videos.

100% valid!! We understand why you do not want to react to the chapters. It IS very intimate, and as a third party watcher: I'd rather watch a reaction on a deep music video rather than a reaction to a deep talk! I can understand the logical side of this decision!

I really respect you for your decision. I feel like the Chapters are being created as a "memoir." His music, on the other hand, is his art, and he actively invites people to interpret and take from it what they see for themselves - just as any artist worth their salt may do...

Totally respect your decision! Ren’s current series are absolutely fascinating, horrifying, frightening, enlightening, and inspirational. They are his stories as only he can tell them. Anyone trying to analyze them can only speculate and respond based on their experiences. I’ll look forward to more reactions to Ren’s music in the future! ❤️🎶

I respect and agree with your decision (and it has nothing to do with your face, lol). Music is a lot more interpretive, making it easier to explore various different things that could be going on for the artists. Ren is essentially releasing an autobiography with these chapters of his life; there's not a lot of room for interpretation. How would one even react to an autobiography objectively outside of saying, 'Yeah, they had some hard times,' or 'Wow... [insert random person here], they did horrible or good or honorable things.' It makes a weird kind of sense in my mind to not do a reaction, as I have read numerous autobiographies and biographies, and the most I could react to was the writing style: was it engaging, was it informative, etc. I am definitely looking forward to your reaction to the songs he'll be releasing after these.

I think it's great, what you're saying. After one of the chapters in particular I felt like posting a comment but realized I had nothing to say, because Ren had already said everything. And comments that I did make for other chapters sounded trite. I've been through therapy and lots of self-therapy, but I have to say that the "Ren Modality" has been one of the most effective therapies I've ever encountered. And Ren's life chapter readings have taken it to a new level, helping me take a harder look at my own thoughts, beliefs and experiences. Thanks for this video!

I can't watch/listen to his Freckled Angles song either after personal losses. Ren has the ability to draw out things I just need to suppress for my sanity. Especially since I think they’re very important chapters that as many people as possible should watch to help raise awareness of the missing. This might make some people curious who haven’t seen them yet. I’m not sure if all Renegades even notice them since they’re saved on Ren’s secondary channel after the live/premier? One thing I have learned from comments on his videos and social media posts is that there are a lot of missing people 😢Hopefully they will feel a little less lost and forgotten as Ren shares his story so publicly.

What Ren is doing is something that is a privilege to witness and great respect is owed to him for being so honest and vulnerable. There is no place for evaluation and a reaction is to say "look at me and what I have to say about this", which is totally out of place in this context.

(Not a native english speaker, sorry in advance) “I don’t have anything to add" is an absolute valid statement for not uploading it. In general I dislike it when content creators react to something and bring no extra value to it. In your videos you seem really empathetic and to have high emotional intelligence. It’s obvious how you put effort into trying to understand the artists message and interpret it in different ways, in addition to that you convey us your own message and thoughts with your experience. Hopefully this doesn’t change as your channel grows, and it sure will ❤️. I really appreciate and respect your work and wish you the best on your journey. P.S. The channel „Reaction Therapy“ seems to have drifted away from that „concept“ over time, he sometimes still makes valuable videos but often it’s JUST a reaction. Just my opinion cause you make it in an better way.

I'm pretty sure that I understand what you mean because I've been reluctant to even leave a comment on the chapters. I definitely couldn't do a reaction to one when I wasn't even able to form a sentence worthy of posting. I wasn't even sure why everything I thought to say about them sounded wrong, but you're probably right, that it was probably related to that intimacy. How can anyone have a response to something which was so directly self proclaimed.

I support your decision to not react to these chapters and respect why you've chosen not to. It makes complete sense. I even applaud you for it. 💫 They are intimate on a level much deeper than even his music (which I never thought possible) as he bares his soul for all the world to see. And so publicly and painfully. Through music he's guided us on a journey through his life: his world, his pain, hopes and dreams; both dashed and realised. But this is an entirely different form of vulnerability. Ren has already made such an impact through music, touching so many and bringing a wave of people together all while raising awareness. He's pushed the envelope showing us that if he can do it then so can we. He dares society to talk about things we've been told or believed we shouldn't. To erase the stigma. The world desperately needed a person like Ren, and one day I hope he realizes how much he's done for us. These chapters will certainly up the ante. You are both a gift to the mental health sector of the world, and I thank you for that. 💝

I think this is a fantastic take and I am glad you expressed this. Probably different POVs out there, but imo even if its emotionally driven rather than logically, the logic of it from my perspective is not needing a public therapy session on account of private life details that are willingly made public. I think you hit the nail on the head of its his story and how he wants to share it. Its different than artistic representations where there is more room for tangents of interpretation "diagnosing" or discussing the art as the subject, rather than the person being the subject. That's how I feel, at least, when sharing some of my own writing where some pieces take artistic angles so it can be topical versus the topic being me in an assessment if its detailing more factual account stories I have written down from my life. Its kind of where perspectives are attached to a piece of art versus thrown onto a whole human being.

@@TherapistReactsOfficial That is one area that I think you making this video in and of itself hits really well for me. Compared to visual arts or (some) writing, musicians or actors tend to get very little distance from people attaching narratives of the art to the person making the art, let alone when it comes to sharing personal life in any form. Its already hard enough to find a line of distinction with natural curiosity, connectivity, and projection of every day life. So I really appreciated from another spectator the way that you still made a point to make the video to explain why you are NOT doing that

I've not watched any reactions to rens story and don't plan to. Your decision is spot on I think, Ren has his platform and chose to share these stories with us now, and for others in the future as well. That's a legacy right there I think

I totally understand and respect your decision. These chapters are connecting many people, not just to this amazing person and artist, but to each other and to the truth about suffering, redemption, love, courage. I am one of the so called "Thalidomide babies", and maybe this reality I have since I can remember made me feel close to other people. Yes, there were times of anger, have GAD so there were moments of fear, thoughts coming from the shadows. But here I am, a fan of Ren. Sorry this long comment just to say I am happy for your decision and will keep watching your reactions. Greetings from Porto, Portugal.

Although I love watching your reactions to Ren and I felt a bit disappointed when I saw your title,I totally understand your point. What Ren shares with us is too personally to comment on.There is nothing to ad what he said. It's his own experience,we can just listen and understand. I hope you do reactions to songs of him instead. You are a very kind human and reacter.😊

I think I understand what you mean 🤔 and of course I respect it. However, a reaction is an emotional thing isn't it? At least for me. When I watch reaction videos I look for people showing their reaction and emotions. That's what I want to feel a connection with. No analyzing or explaining needed. Maybe we should add a category called "analyzing videos" instead of "reaction videos" on youtube 😁 After all, Ren puts these chapters out to create awareness about serious health conditions and if we don't spread the awareness... then what was the point. 🥰

Any person who loves Ren will agree with and applaude your decision here. I think that a reaction video for Ren's open-hearted and honest story of his life would seem crude, and it would cheapen his message as well as disrespect it. Thank you for going with your heart!

I think it’s good that he explained His story behind His songs so people will know where He’s coming from when others write their songs people can only speculate what they sung about but REN definitely cleared all that up in His chapters even tho the songs might have different meanings to us it’s still all good the music is great ❤😂😊Rock on😂

You lined out the exact reasons why I made the decision to not watch any reactions by anyone on the chapters. And I'm a huge Ren reactions fan. Chapters are extremly intimate thing where Ren sits down and says "listen up mate, here is my life for you, nothing more, nothing less" and anyone reacting and adding their takes to it feels just plain wrong.

  • @piwaka50
    @piwaka502 ай бұрын

Good on you. Totally support your decision. These chapters are just someone pouring their heart out and bearing their soul. To me - not reacting is a measure of respect for his intimacy. Sadly I have made a few comments along those lines where I have seen reactors that chose to react. Unfortunately all this does is garner negative comments from that reactors following. Sometimes vicious and or obnoxious responses. I have noted that some of the highly rated reactors e.g. Cliff Beats, Black Pegasus, Knox Hill, Fischtank etc have all chosen not to react. It really is a simple matter of respect. Some just don't get.

Stuart, I think you made the right decision not to do reaction videos to Ren’s life story Chapters. Ren’s words are perfect and they say it all very eloquently. I think we have the personal right to comment in the comments section of each video, especially if we have shared similar experiences ourselves, but to make reaction videos out of them is another matter. As you said this is his actual emotional life being laid bare. We are fortunate to have Ren’s artful music out there for obvious reflective consumption to be shared, played about with in remixes or to be reinterpreted by fan covers. Also to be dissected in critical, therapeutic, emotional or artistic ways in reaction videos such as yours. You do this so well. I respect your heartfelt and intuitive belief that these ‘Chapters’ should be left alone to exist as part of who ‘Ren the man’ actually is, and not the ‘figurative Ren’ he chooses to project artistically outwards to be consumed by the masses.

The only thing I will say is IF you change your mind, a reaction to the section in part 6 where he speaks about his psychosis, from a science/medical perspective would be very interesting, to me anyway! I understand that goes exactly against what you said in this video!! I just find myself so intrigued and wanting to understand how/why his illness lead his brain to that outcome. That’s all!

Hey no need to explain, I appreciate and respect the fact that you did, but not necessary. I'd like to think most Renegades agree, his story hits deep, and affects people different ways. I've seen some reactors do them all together on a live stream and everyone discusses what they're feeling, and others that felt the same as you, and would rather have it be a more personal experience. You travel your path down the Ren rabbit hole as you see fit, and we'll support whatever decision you make! ✌💚

Actually I'm glad. I don't mind watching a reaction to this of an observer or fan (for instance there's this one fella who had only watched Hi Ren before starting these and knows nothing of Ren's backstory - it's interesting to watch him learn it all) but watching a therapist comment on it would be like watching someone else's therapy sessions and that wouldn't feel right. Also, he doesn't have a lot of great medical experiences and at some point you might feel the need to defend a therapists actions because of whatever clinical reason make is ok. That would just tick me off.

How dare you. 😂just kidding. This is an incredibly personal story. I totally get where you’re coming from. Ren describes it all perfectly well, no need to expand. I don’t entirely mind the reactions. I’ve only seen two or three people doing them. They’ve done a good job with it, and have a better understanding because of it, but I don’t think it’s totally necessary for it to happen. It’s all being done with love and showing support to Ren, so, it’s not terrible seeing people reacting to them. Look forward to hearing your take on “Troubles”.
