When my mom was dying, I was not ok. I still did work, homeschool and A LOT of dr appt with my mom. The family dog was a grey hound we had found at the local shelter. He loved me unconditionally. He did not care if i was crabby, crying, mean, nice, loving..... He would just put his head on my lap and refuse to leave me. I really, really miss him. He died when he was 15ish. We all need something to support us from time to time. Heal. We will love you from afar. ❤️

I don't know what you're going through, but I do get the "it's okay to not be okay for a while". I hope that you have a lot of love and support around you to help you through this hard time. You have inspired me to pick up knitting when I was going through a not-okay period, and honestly, creating things have helped keep me sane and standing. So lots of love and appreciation and virtual internet support from a friendly virtual internet stranger

Support avian armada is a great name! A group of geese on land are called a gaggle, which also makes me chuckle, because to me it sounds like cackle. Geese in flight are called a skein, so the emotional support skein would also be funny since they're made from yarn.

When I had hard times in my life, I turned to knitting adorable animals. I found that even when things were falling apart and I had no control over it, I COULD control making this toy. And it was cute and everyone I showed them to thought they were cute and it absolutely helped heal me through it all. To this day, I occasionally knit myself an animal just to perk myself up when im down and I need the boost. I hope whatever you're dealing with passes soon. ❤

There are many weird and varied duck-kinds. But the head of that mother duck was something new to me 😄 The ducks ended up very very cute! I would call them Fowl Friends.

I’m going through breast cancer treatment right now so oh, boy so I ever get the whole “get through it to get better” thing. Hang in there! Luckily for me my surgeon told me knitting is a great thing to do while recovering 😁 Your avalan armada is soooooo cute! I immediately thought of Jemima Puddle-Duck, too!

The chicken and ducks are absolutely adorable, I hope they bring you the comfort you need. My favorite quote to think of whenever things get hard is "everything will be okay in the end, and if it's not ok, it's not the end". It reminds me that even when things are hard, and I'm struggling, I should keep going because it won't last forever, and there will be light at the end of the tunnel again. I hope that that light at the end of the tunnel is approaching for you, and that you remain kind and gentle with yourself as you deal with the tough times while remembering that healing- no matter what from- isn't a linear journey.

There are several names, including a bevy and a flight of doves. I believe a pitying of doves is a more obscure one.

I am nothing if not a sucker for making plushies, and most anything about ducks. Thank you for showcasing this vintage pattern and showing the cover art. Because of that, I was actually able to find it for sale! So someday I'll be able to make my own emotional support Mrs. Cuddlesworth too.

I wonder if the gusset on the duck's head was to help support the bonnet? I cannot get over how cute these turned out. I too am going through a tough time and this really brightened my day. I hope that life gets easier each day.

As you said, it's so cool when one thing, even knitting a bird, turns great, in comparison to other things in life which maybe one can't control and aren't ok. In my experience it is very important to be honest to oneself when you are not ok. It is also good when you don't have to pretend for other people that you are OK. The internet does not need to know the story, but I think it is good, that you don't need to hide your emotions.

I moved away from home almost a year ago (oh god, it's been that long???) and left my chickens behind. I miss them so much. They practically (ok just did) lived in my room with me for a few months after they hatched and despite that, they're not all that cuddly (and they have claws) and they got in my room because of how desperately lonely i was at the time Also i was once pecked in the eye because i was sad and Eggggg was thirsty. Another one of my chickens is called Hose (as in garden hose. When she first hatched i picked up her brother first and she went chipping her luttle head off, when i said "hose mad" and it stuck)

As I watch you I’m finishing my 6th Emotional Support Chicken. I used all different yarn weights. Mine have all been gifted except for one for me. My family has been going through an extremely stressful year so far so I understand the “I’m not okay and won’t be for a while” sentiment. Starting with my oldest daughter having brain surgery January 14 and one crisis after another through the year so far. Hugs to you.

This was absolutely adorable! I have an army of support plushies so haven’t knit any (chicken or Douglas the duck) yet or my partner might not fit in the bed/house anymore. Never underestimate the power of squishing cute animal shaped stuffing 🤣 I also have real ducks and geese and they are just as adorable but not as cuddly. I hope you start to feel better soon. I do highly recommend watching real ducks as therapy, while cuddling Mrs Cuddleduck.

Your color type is cool and without going into the meanders of seasons and saturation levels, I will simply say that the absolute best hair color for you is platinum blonde (cool light blonde), and right after it the next good color would be black.
