Paigeythepigeon _ shoot, I’m 19 and I’m in college. But that’s a chunk of tuition money right there! 400 dollars is also several video games which can yield HUNDREDS of hours of entertainment(at minimum minus replay value). I have no clue what this company was thinking pricing a dollhouse that high. I will certainly not be buying something that expensive for my future kids if they’re not getting at least 100-200 hours out of it. And that amount of time is on the low end for that sort of price.

The LOL toys have always weirded me out, tbh. The clothing on the smaller ones seems wildly inappropriate, and the crazy underwear on the newer OMG dolls is.... well. OMG. Like, I hate to use the word "slutty" because everyone can live their life how they want, I don't judge. But that's what these dolls bring to mind. The late 1990s, early 2000s image of a "slutty" girl. Mid riff shirts, tiny skirts, needing the toys to be naked for the color change stuff (otherwise you ruin clothes).... they've just... seemed overly sexualized, when there's zero reason for it.

Palitato I totally agree! LOL could fix everything buy just. Giving kids the choice of multiple pieces of clothing for their dolls, so they’re not constantly pushing that “slutty” look into kids. I don’t think I’d mind if they gave kids a choice, because then it’s up to the kid on what they think is good fashion, but as it is now it feels really gross and kind of manipulative

Shout out to Toys R' Us for taking back a toy, that really wasn't their responsibility too. It's sounds like too me, they KNOW they have quality control issues, & as much as they "pride" themselves on not having faulty products. They do it on purpose for entrapment. Because why else would you release an obvious toy for Christmas, & a pricey one at that. & give a barely there warranty? They know what they are doing, & it's not for customer satisfaction. It's greed

When I was about 7 I got the Barbie Dream House (The one with the two elevators and instead of a garage a walk-in closet) for Christmas. I didn't know at the time, but I'm pretty sure it was like $100-150 (US dollars) (I think it was closer to $100) It was huge, came with *SO MANY* little accessories (silverware, decorations, SO MUCH FOOD, etc.) and 6 years later EVERYTHING still functions! The elevator runs smoothly, none of the plastic hangers are broken, The little TV still functions... the only think I can think of that is broken is the shower door but that was my fault. It was SO much bigger and better quality than this! I may be biased, but I really prefer Mattel to other companies. Not to say that there aren't some flaws, but compared to this!! Mattel looks flawless!

Hi! I had an extremely similar experience, not with this specific product by L.O.L. but the bus toy. I had bought it for my niece for her 10th birthday only to receive a call of her crying because there was so much wrong, broken, or just not functional. I greatly appreciate your honest reviews so that I can hopefully not make the same blind mistake. And as an add on, the company refused to send a replacement nor the store I bought it from despite it being well within the return date. As I said before, I am extremely grateful for your reviews. I was planning on buying this doll house, but now I am more unsure and will be sure to look extremely closer at the product and read reviews from the retailer. If you have any more L.O.L. product updates in the future, even if it's not reviewing their toys, please do share! You are a highly trusted source for an honest opinion. Thank you for the content you provide, you gave saved many of us from experiencing false reviews and Such.

I would honestly recommend looking at other dollhouses instead. Absolutely do research, look closely, and read reviews for those as well, but most dollhouses are closer to $100-150 US dollars, with much smaller ones being in the range of $30-60 US dollars. You might have to find them online and order now but at least then if something goes wrong, it hopefully won't be as drastic. If she really loves LOL and wants that most of all, you could buy one or two of the LOL furniture sets to go with it or maybe some blind balls/other LOL options of your choice and that still might be cheaper overall. Unless she has her heart set on the Chalet, I don't think she'll mind. LOL was super popular long before they had their own name-brand housing and other dollhouses would've done just fine up until then. :) Incidentally, if you don't mind plastic, you could check-out the Woodzeez, Calico Critter, or Playmobil houses (also possibly Enchantimals and Shopkins Happy Places) but there are a ton of others and many that are wood, some from Melissa & Doug, Hape, and KidKraft. Just make sure it isn't a hobby kit style house as that would probably take far too long to put together. Good luck! :)

I respect your decision. I never liked how much waste LOL produced as well. I also hated the fact that they considered literal TRASH as a "surprise." Like, how many collector's guides/combs/magnifying glasses/stickers do you need?! These are NOT surprises, they are GARBAGE. They are a waste of money/"surprises" to me, and it's sad to see other toy companies doing the same type of thing, counting trash as surprises in a blind bag. I hate where the toy industry is right now...

Not all surprise toys do that, like Na Na Na Surprise dolls, they use less plastic (like the case is reusable, the plastic thing in the pom-pom is reusable like keeping it for stuffing in the doll and for keeping the pom-pom's shape) And they aren't really a surprise, because they put a sticker with a shape to know which doll it is (example: my Na Na Na Surprise doll case has a circle, I can check the checklist and search the doll with that shape so I know which doll I'm getting) And the sticker on the case is useful so you won't get duplicates if you purchased another one Honestly, Na Na Na Surprise dolls are using less plastic than Lol surprise dolls. P.s: the Na Na Na Surprise dolls are made of cloth/fabric but aren't stuffed Edit: I just realized how much I praised Na Na Na surprise dolls-

Nintendo was much nicer than MGA was being in this video.... So my brother had gotten a Mario New 3ds that didn't come with the game like it was supposed to.... It looked brand new when still in the box... My brother immediately could tell it was a store return because of this... The Wal-Mart was supposed to send the Mario 3ds to Nintendo to make sure it came with everything when someone else bought it but they didn't... Some employee must have put it back without thinking... My brother called the number on the box and told them what happened and they gave him a code to get the game for free off of the Nintendo Eshop... We also noticed he did not have a charger in his box... I luckily had 2 chargers for my dsi and my 3ds so I gave him one of mine... This is why I like Nintendo better. Nintendo actually gets you a replacement for what you should've gotten with your product if you're missing anything that it should have came with...

Starlight Shimmer I agree that Nintendo's customer service is amazing. My Wii U Gamepad charger broke in 2017 and we couldn't find a new charger anywhere. So my mum phoned up the customer service people at Nintendo and they quickly sent a new charger to us. Nintendo customer service have also been nice to us when we've had other issues. And over here in the UK we usually get a 1-2 year warranty on electronic products. I think MGA needs to take a few customer service notes from companies like Nintendo who do customer service well.

The price was extremely high, but atleast you got a nice, detailed, full length doll *of your choice.* and, number 1, they didn’t classify stickers, checklists, and magnifying glasses, as “surprises” and, number 2, the ammout of plastic and trash was significantly lower then a normal tiny doll that you get for like, 16-20 bucks. Hey jen, Just to note, my little sister got it for her most recent birthday and it was very defective, here's a short list: *Lights didn't work *Both of the dolls arms where glued together, and One of them only came with one painted eye (Super creepy ngl) *The snow machine didn't work *It didn't come with the bunk beds at all *Box wasn't dented, but wasn't like, properly built? hard to explain. * it didn't come with 3 bags of snow, it came with one that was half filled. It was very ridiculous, and we contacted Mga and we couldn't even get a replacement, as they said the proof was invalid or smt. So we returned I to the store and we decided to get Ella a bunch of OMG dolls and lols, it made her happy but regardless it was redudnent and unethical. Bad on you mga. Bad on you. Edit: Sorry yall, I was miss informed. The dolls both came with two eyes, but one is kinda messed up. It came with the bunkbeds, my mom lost the box they came in. My dad said he would have been able to fix the lights, but my mom was so agrivatied she instantly returned it. Sorry for the bad spelling and such

My best friend Veronica, bought the Winter Disco Set a few days ago. It wasn’t for Holidays, it was as a Birthday gift for her sister which she bought with her mom. When she opened it to give it to her sister, they decided to build it up. Turns out, the green bunk bed was cracked in half, the roof had scratches, the pool was also cracked, and the slide wasn’t even in there. We tried to go to exchange it, but the stores said they couldn’t as if it was already opened. Edit: They also contacted the company, they said we didn’t have enough proof, and that the due date is already over when it wasn’t.

Cupcake Cutie Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I’m happy to hear you have had good experiences with MGA products. But many people have not. In fact, Jen have gotten some faulty MGA products even before this but she hasn’t made a big deal out of it since the price hasn’t been worth the struggle of getting some sort of compensation. This time the product was extremely expensive and MGA have been extremely greedy with their profit margin with these poor quality items. If MGA was a company that cared about their customers they would have given her some sort of compensation, but they really looked for reasons not to. Jen, and the commenter to whom you posted this response, wants to point out that the price for this toy gives a big dent in your economy and therefore it should be of excellent quality. I apologize for the long reply, but I felt that I wanted to explain to you why so many have decided not to buy MGA products anymore. But like I said I’m happy to hear that you have had only good experiences. There’s absolutely no shame in buying their products and if you like them you should of course continue to buy them 🙂. Hopefully you will never have to be disappointed ❤️ Just a little sidenote; it’s ”you’re” not ”your” when it comes to describing what someone is doing ❤️

I am so glad to know this before i decide to buy something like this from a MGA. What they are doing is unethical and makes them a bad toy company. These products are for children not adults. Adults that buy these things for themselves are less likely to be upset about these problems. My daughter is autistic and wouldn't understand why a product is not working the way it should it would cause unnecessary frustration. The issue with the lights could cause injury to children and makes this product dangerous. The fact that the company is not willing to fix the issue and that it is multiple people with the problem shows me that the company is no longer interested in the quality of their product and is more interested in money.

One problem was that the wings were attachable, and thus prone to breaking easily if you werent careful. One day one of the wings broke off, and it wasnt easily fixable. My mom emailed mattel, and we got new wings through mail for free! At that point I had the toy for almost a year. Whenever I buy something where I am not 100% sure if it's gonna be good, I order it online because here in the EU, online stores are legally required to offer costumers a 2 week withdrawal period for the purchase. You also don't need to name any reasons. And once you tell them you are gonna withdraw the order, you have at least another two weeks to ship it back. *And* usually, stores just ship you a withdrawal/return label with your order, that you can send back in one package with the products to make things even simpler. It's just one of those awesome laws that really make things safer/easier for the consumer, especially when you live in the countryside and literally don't have much of a choice between physical and online stores. **throwback to my teen years**

I'm really happy that you are so honest with your reviews. I've seen too many channels that are like “this paint is smudged, but that's nothing some acetone can't fix!“ which completly misses the point. No one wants to buy stuff that they'll have to fix before it's useable.

Little late to the party as I just watched this video and the unboxing, and wow! I've seen short warranties but that's something else, especially when it was a pretty good chance the fault started at the factory and not at the store. Thank you for making me aware that warranties can be that short and it's the stores that extend them for the holidays! Also, love the new intro music.

I've seen several reviewers have issues from small to large with this item. The number of issues over a broad range of consumers for such a large price tag is ridiculous. Seriously, just watching your videos, their quality has gone downhill as their prices go up. We actually decided to no longer purchase these products for our niece.

Honestly if someone spends over $200 for something it shouldn't happen at all, let alone with the frequency it has happened on this item. In general the LOL products are overpriced, overhyped, and under impressing. Hence the reasoning for us refusing to waste our money on them.

  • @niffry

    @niffry

@@SimoneOconnell The main issue here is that IF there were any defects you would've basically just flushed 400$ down the drain. And here's a fun fact to view this in a better perspective: A GAME CONSOLE like the Nintendo switch sells for roughly half of that price, and it is arguably more valuable than a dollhouse made out of cheap plastic. Luckily Jen's local Toys'R'us were nice enough to replace the product, but not everyone has that kind of luck.

The amount of waste, the terrible design of the clothing, and the deeply disturbing image of fish-net wearing toddlers (did Dr. Frank-en-Furter raise these kids?) was just...weird and annoying. I had a product I bought on amazon 4 months later when I got around to writing the review I wrote about the product and it was not the most positive (broken item but I made it work for what I wanted) the company saw my review, emailed me, offered a refund and sent several emails apologizing. I did go back and added that they fixed my issue but my negative review is still there and when apologizing they thanked me for being honest as it can make them a better company. I have since bought more of their products because they clearly cared. I can't believe that a company would do something like what they did in your case because that is such crap. Honestly, its a joke! I have always hated the whole surprise toy deal and thought they where stupid but this just make it sooooooooo clear that big companies just don't care.

Actually, I bought the little mermaid sisters set and I had one doll with a arm that broke off while I was unpacking it and the other arm was about to break. Another one had a arm that was about to break, a mess up eyes, and a bent tail. I emailed the company and I was sent a set to replace it and I have to send 1 set back. That bothers me because it is a waste of plastic and I only needed 2. I dont like to return toys because I feel bad doing so and now I have a dilemma.

I have never been happy with the amount of waste these toys produce (which seems to have gotten worse), the relentless predatory nature of the company (leaving parents struggling to keep up) nor are they produced at a quality that meets their asking price.

At a store I used to work at, a women's clothing retailer, we had a special holiday policy! anything bought before christmas day and after Black Friday could be returned at any point before February 25th. It was natural for people to buy early and store until Christmas. It's what any natural person would do, so we accommodated. It makes no sense why they wouldn't do that, considering the product they sell as opposed to what we sold.
