This is an amazing scene. Mary is such a good actress.

It is absolutely amazing how Mary McDonnell can change her facial expression from happiness to sadness in just one second: 'You're ready... I'm not'. Where's Mary's Emmy? She totally deserved one, at least.

Oh my god, this is an amazing scene -- so much emotion, so much heartache. I don't understand why they deleted it. :(

@mrcinema01 She has that one moment to smile and laugh and then she is reminded of her illness because she starts coughing. This scene was really sad because Lee loves her like a mom and he has to watch her suffer and cough. She can't just be happy. I agree, she deserves an Emmy.

I think Mary should have won an Emmy for her role as Laura Roslin and Sharon Raydor.

SERIOUSLY? Every time I rewatch BSG I just think- why the FRAK did they not win every award ever? And WHY doesn't Mary rule the emmy's?

I think that the writers got it wrong with this Roslin line about how Lee wants to do the right thing but he forgets to do the smart thing. I always asked myself how on EARTH (ironic) does that line fit Lee, then i realized that it fits Helo perfectly. He ALWAYS wants to do the right thing and so he NEVER does the smart thing. Like when he killed his wife for her to retrieve Hera, did he even think about how they could just dissect her and that’d be it? Or when he sophocated the POW’s to prevent the cylon genocide (if the plan was going to even work), the cylons were literally hunting them down for years then and completely exterminated their race, and there was 0 hints that they were gonna change their minds. OH BUT SINCE 1 OF THE THOUSAND OF THEM TURNED they shouldn’t get wiped out. It was literally us vs them, that stupid moral decision could have costed the lives of the minority that was left from the human race. Helo just disobeys orders if he thinks they’re not moral enough, he does the “right” thing and NEVER stops, not even a second, to think about the possible consequences. He’s not reliable to follow orders, he’s not fit to he a soldier. Helo’s philosophy is that because he won’t eat the lion, the lion won’t eat him (said by user Ali Bryant).
