Not just the looks. That fighting scene, that style of using Kamui passing with super agressive and efficient woodstyle is the most badass fighting style in the whole series in my opinion.

I actually prefer the anime version of this over the manga. The additional scenes and the music really make it IMO the best horror moment/character breaking in NAruto. Even slightly better than Naruto basically disappearing when he watching Pain murderstomp Hinata right after she said that she loved him (people forget, this is the first time that anyone ever told Naruto that they loved him in his entire life).

@@jesusrodriguez4. they awakened it at the exact same time. The difference is that Obito via Madara and possibly because he was an Uchiha, new that there was such a thing. Note the reason for Kakashi not knowing he had it is because of all the retcons to the story made from the Konoha Crush forward.

I like the symbolism of Obito’s Kamui. Him getting his ability to slip through things at this point representing how he rejects the world refuses to accept it anymore.

Kakashi probably was never aware of Mangekyo Sharingan. He may have looked into trying it out after realising there was a higher level to Sharingan after encountering Itachi

I would argue on that tbh. Kinda illogical. Whole scene of him being there when Rin unlived herself on Kakashi and everything being really orchestrated feels superficial (even if it was most definitely organised by Zetsus and Madara). Him turning evil because of that is pretty stupid as well. Yeah my friend died, lets genocide whole world and not think it through at all. Yeah let's unlive my master, his pregnant wife and hate on clearly destroyed by whole situation - other friend. I feel like it justified madness of the younger Obito, but the adult one? It doesn't make sense especially if you consider the ending he gets. Kishimoto writes Uchiha as evil until it doesn't work for his plot and he is always inconsistent with it.

@@mjm3091 ur not understanding the point of obito’s fall into darkness. the reason why that happened is because he went from being hopeful and full of joy to having one of the most important people in his life killed by his best friend (he didn’t know that madara and zetsu set that up) and the seeds of darkness that madara had been sowing in obito for years had come to fruition after that moment, that was when he realized how cruel the world could be.

Here’s another thing, I won’t spoil, but does anyone remember when “Tobi” was told to go by himself to find the three tails because Deidara was annoyed by him, Tobi finds the three tails and only in THAT moment does he use his Obito voice and says “we’ll look at here”. I’m sure you all know why he said that.

21:35 Funny thing a lot of people don’t consider when remembering that scene. Kakashi pulled Deidara's arm into a completely different dimension yet Tobi just so happens to find it on the ground and talks about it when Deidara is within earshot. Obito brought that arm back, dropped it onto the ground and made a little play so Deidara could get his arm back without asking too many questions!

Notice how the form of the wood-style surrounding the red moon represents the Tobi mask with the red Mangekyou, and the red moon is also symbolic of the Infinite Tsukuyomi

Just some info for you two, yes this takes place before the 4th mizukage Yagura since he was the current 3 tails jinchuriki, and during this episode Rin had 3 tails inside her, hidden mist put it in her with a bad seal so it world break out in Konoha. Also at the beginning of Naruto Kakashi and Zabuza are supposedly both 26 so the blood mist kill your classmates thing was going on during the time of the 3rd mizukage. Obito only made Yagura start killing blood one users starting the civil war, which Mei won and Yagura was killed, releasing 3 tails

This is an old joke, isn't it.

The first time I saw this in the I manga was shocked. Every time after it just hurts my heart.

By the way, the different masks Obito wears represents different things: Swirly mask obviously represents Kamui The mask he wore before that one actually has 9 marks, probably symbolizing the Nine-tails attack he orchestrated And the war mask looks like a mix between the sharingan and rinnegan.

The creepiest and most tragic awakening of the most OP Mangekyo ever. This chapter is so sick and twisted than became one of my favorites to watch and never get tired of it. It´s kinda cruel we presence how Obito manages to keep moving on his rehabilitation training, we see his previous "normal" life how he makes great efforts to progress....how lovely is to see Rin encouraging him to never give up....it shows how caring she was to him, no wonder why he loved her so much. As the boy is waiting for his future returning life, he sudenly is alarmed by the Zetsus and leaves Madara´s cave....as he hurries to rescue his comrades he senses something awful and macabre coming. The atmosphere on the last minutes of the chapter starts to change so quickly than it turned so dark than it looked like a horror movie. Obito turns into a hopeless soul with a hatred for the reality....but this isn´t exactly what made him colaborate with Madara´s Plan. What´s more important.....we see how TOBI is born from Obito´s pain, sorrow and hatred. The Kamui is the reflection of Obito´s lost dreams and hopes and molds into a twisted whirpool of madness.....I love the symbolism of his character with the mask.

Obito witnessing Kakashi kill Rin hurts so much. But the rampage and wrath that follows is absolutely insane especially when both Kakashi and Obito’s eyes awaken. Obito’s rage is truly chilling when he slaughters the Mist Ninjas. So gruesome but so harrowing and shocking. Glad to see Lindsay finally react to the ending. It’s absolutely beautiful. The focus on Obito, the imagery, the tragedy of the nature and Rin walking through Obito. The imagery of the perspective that the ending showcases is really effective. I still think the opening works really well for its detective vibe due to lots of secrets coming out in this arc but the ending is truly sublime as it really give us a good summary on Obito’s tragic past. Shoutout to Carson’s beautiful voice crack at 0:50😎 But Yes! Ending 28 is solid. The outros are especially so great at this stage of Shippuden.

"Naruto is a kids show" * *Hold my episode 345* * In the uncensored version, you see (not explicitly) Obito having to pull his stuck fist out of the dude's skull. Shits brutal.

This ep was hella horror and thrilling. These last two ep gave enough slow burn to reach that terrific conclusion.

It is theorised that each mask represents an event: 1. The mask that he used in the 9 tail attack has what looks like tails and a biju dama as the eye 2. The tobi mask represents the kamui 3. The new mask represents the rinnegan

I really loved your reaction to this episode! I was so hyped for you guys to get to this point for so long and it was for sure worth the wait!

It's crazy and quite heartbreaking seeing Obito, this kid who was compassionate about helping people, become instantly consumed by rage and mercilessly slaughtering everyone around him.

Obito had EVERYBODY fooled. He even had Itachi fooled. Imagine if Kabuto told Sasuke and Itachi the truth during their fight. They both would have been totally shocked.

It was too intense for me watching it for the first I cried a lot I never really cries but this was something else for me,, I wrote about obito in my dairy like 7-8 pages it was to good to forget soon it was in my mind for whole month and I still get goousbumps watching this

Obitos's rage scene was best in japanese version , the intensitiy in his voice there was amazing

awesome reaction guys! And its fine you talked about the lighthearted stuff despite the tone of the episode, since you ALSO covered the darker parts, and as you said, the episode just ties into so many things, primarily obito's transition itself!

In the manga you could see the organs and insides of mist shinobi hanging on trees

Kakashi did not know what a Mangekyo was at that time. The Uchihas and the Leaf hierarchy kept it a secret due to its potential to control the Kyuubi. It's not confirmed but either Minato told him about it when Kakashi joined ANBU and became Kushina's bodyguard or shortly after Naruto became the Jinchuriki and Kakashi basically became his chief bodyguard despite the 3rd Hokage banning all contact between them.

I wish there was another scene in this episode. In a future episode Obito tries to hold Rins body after defeating the Mist ninja. But his fingers pass through her, leaving him in shock and disbelief.

In later Naruto and definitely in Boruto - endings would often fit more as intros, due to them getting most of the plot. As we get two endings per opening - they can be more specific, as they last for less episodes. Which I guess is better idea cause they can put more spoilers in outros than in intros, as less people watch those?

Yes but yagura was already fearsome before Obito took control of him. We dont know the exact date when the hiden mist becsme the bloody mist nor when the academy barbaric ritual began, but we do know that yagura at least had became famous because he used to dispose of some people and he was possible the mizukage zabuza tried kill when he failed to coup detat

Everyone thought kakashi killed the hidden mist shinobis. And thus he got many names like cold blooded kakashi, sharingan hero, infamous kakashi of the sharingan etc...

To keep with the Fullmetal Alchemist Ed theme remember the philosopher's stone is created by the blood of sacrificing many others so the blood mist was a fitting start to making a stone 😉

Obito’s voice actor is the one who voice Edward Elric from Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood.

The chunin exams when Zabuza attended it was 2 years later when Naruto was born. So Obito was already 14 years old when Naruto was born and was 16 when Zabuza went into the exams. Zabuza is the same age as Kakashi but Kakashi was already a jonin at age 12 and just 3 years later Zabuza would have been 15-16 years old when he went into the chunin exams and he wasnt a student, he just went in their and killed everyone (I think). Obito was already controlling the 4th Mizukage who is a kid (which could like 12-14 years old when being controlled by Obito and he was 143 cm which is around the same height as 12-13 year old Naruto, so yea)and 10 years later after Naruto was born, Obito talked to Kizame while controlling Yagura. If Yagura was 12-14 at this point he would have been a baby or would have been 1-2 years old when Obito saw Rin die. So it would have been the 3rd Mizukage who would have been the Kage at this point. And when the 3 tails died with Rin, tailed beast come back to life after they die and so maybe 1-2 years later, they would have have sealed it away in a 3-4 year old Yagura. 3rd Mizukage was the kage who made the mist village into the "Blood mist village" and Obito kept that up later on after controlling Yagura, maybe that's why he was feared as the tailed beast user because of him being controlled by Obito through out his years.

Man I don't know if it’s just me, but Vic just can't sell the brutality of this scene in the English dub with his voice acting. He tried with his screaming but it just sort of came off as him just yelling loud. The Japanese for this particular scene is just far greater with a greater sense of excruciating emotion and tensity, like his screaming in agonizing pain.

I think what Obito did to the Hidden Mist was his way of punishing them for what has happened to Rin
