We bought so much into the idea of making games more accessible to get more people into them that once we got more people into them we forgot that complicated rules can also be fun.

"A game designed for everyone is a game designed for no one." There's definitely something to making a game with a distinct point of view that targets a specific set of gamers. A solid niche fanbase can still be successful / profitable. As a proper grognard I'm in favor of anything that gets us back to some good tactical wargaming.

This is exactly how I felt going from 40k to Horus Heresy!

Super excited. Been working hard on printing a 1250 point dark elf army. Sucks GW sold out of everything but it saves me money. There'll be a few GW models I'll buy when they restock and I want to take the army to 2k points. Haven't gotten any games yet obviously. Maybe I'll see about getting into some Table Top Sim.

I was hesitant to jump into Old World because at first it felt like a nostalgia cash grab, but the more content I see the more I'm interested I am in building a dwarf army...sigh, RIP wallet I guess. Love the (non)content Crendor, keep it coming please!

Very excited about old world myself. Not going to stop playing sigmar but the old world is just so cool. I loved total warhammer one of my most plsyed video games

Personally much prefer the more RPG like style of HH and Old World over the other warhammer games. The latter just don't feel immersive at all to me. For example: in 40k there's this character called Ahriman, who in the story is one of the strongest psykers in the galaxy who has cast crazy impressive powerful spells - and in the game, his spell does a single hit with strength 6.

Currently building my Tomb Kings. So happy to have such a wonderful miniature line back!

Thanks for the vid! I have mixed feelings with old world and wish there was more support for the "legacy" armies. Also, looking at the restrictions of the Ogres makes me a bit discouraged/sad. The Gnoblar Scraplauncher, for example, had potential to be a fun unit. Yet they seriously pitted it directly with the Ironblaster for an either/or slot per 1k... Etc. Etc. But I'll try to enjoy it anyway. :) Perhaps a "counts as"/proxy ogre list with a non-legacy army will do them justice.

Afaik there are no BattleScribe files for TOW yet, but they usually have the option of summarizing the special rules for your list in the final export which is nice. Making a Turn flow chart for each phase of the turn sequence to have at hand is probably a good thing as well ^^

I'm excited to play, but still waiting on my orders to arrive at the moment.

Just played my 2nd game and it's so much fun

I haven't played Old World but I remember in Warhammer fantasy there were so many opportunities for a greenskins player to screw themselves over and it was great.

I've preordered it, even the first in queue at the local Warhammer shop... alas, GW distribution is so bad that none of the pre-orders at the shop were fulfilled... same happend with Legions Imperialis which takes the piss slightly!

It looks interesting but i haven't even gotten to play much of 40k or aos, and well if im entirely honest i prob wont ever play it much because the models are just not good looking for me, i could 3d print an army but also have that problem of i don't know anyone that would play with me haha :P

I can't wait to break out my Lizardmen again man
