Dude, it’s becoming more automatic now for you. Make sure you snag some Ennui Shin Guards bro. You WONT regret it and your shins will thank you especially once you start throwing harder combos and difficult grinds like true spins, AO, Topsides. Keep killing it bro

THIS. You dont realize how important shin guards are until you get a proper shinner. I had to get 6 stitches last year after shinning on a knee high p rail. Right down to the bone, had to get tetanus shots, the whole deal. Even cheap $10 soccer shin guards at any sports store are even better than Ennui cause they are hard plastic.

I’ve been learning royales lately too so here’s two thoughts. Early on, you say something about pushing down and back. I don’t think a royale is a grind you need to “push” into place. If you watch your footage it’s pushing your back foot back after you’ve got on your royale that’s causing it to pop out of shape. If you just st on it, you’d be fine. Here’s my second thought. One of the very good skaters from my local group gave me a life changing tip last week. Try to land on the edge of your H-blocks. I started ripping off royales one after the other once I started doing that.

ill give that a shot next time I try royales for sure!! and yeah I need to just lock in and stay there, I keep pushing my foot back because I'm scared its going to launch out in front of me, which is what happens when my weight is wrong. But like you said if I just get on top of it and sit on the royale I shouldn't slip out unless I just miss

Glad you landed these so easily. Let me tell you: it took a year for me and it was super frustrating!

I still have such a long way to go, it's a hard trick to get better at because I feel like I have to be ready to take some big slams. Which means having no injuries... And I am very injured 😅 as soon as I'm fully healthy I'm going 100% at these royales

Your royales are progressing. One thing you want to do is sit down rather than bend over. You have the same issue I have when coming back into blading. Bending over means you always going to be on the other side of your grind. sitting will help you get more balance and a lower center of gravity.

yeah thats been an issue for me in all my grinds to be honest, I think ive done a good job fixing it with souls and acids but when I'm learning a new trick I always go back to bending over at the waist, really bad habit

One thing the guys in my crew told me was to stop anticipating falling off the grind. That’s what was keeping me from sitting down and squatting like I’m sitting in a chair rather than bending over. When I would bend over, I’d get in my head to be ready to bail on the trick rather than stick it out. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you

Yeah I think that's what's happening to me too, it's like I'm reaching for the ground early getting ready to fall which makes the fall worse, if I just sat down like you said I would just fall on my butt anyway

I'm not great but it helps me to loosen my cuffs a little for royales.

If my cuff was any looser I would break my ankles 🤣 I already have these set to "easy mode"
