Good stuff man! I personally am only a DC guy and its sad to see someone trade away such a beautiful batman book, but all respect to you for building the collection that you like and want.

Oof, I don't know I could have made that trade, but the hobby is yours. You should get what you want for your collection.

FF5 is an awesome book. Mine is a conserved copy, but boy would I love to get a nice Batman 3. My crazy long term goal is to complete the Batman run, but that’s crazy.

Just bought a golden age Batman # 13 .. CGC 1.0 for $ 1.000

Obviously your needs are your needs but I’d have held onto the Batman 3. It presents well too. That FF 5 is nothing to sneeze at though.

That Batman is worth $ 13,000 in a CGC 6.0. In a CGC 4.0 it's worth $ 11,000 to 12,000

I like the trade

I'm a bias batman fan, but I think the trade was reasonable. it's better that you collect your focus first. I tend to have problems with that like, but not love a lot of books.

i would have kept the batman 3. that book is hard to find.

As an investor in comics, that Batman #3 is rare with less than 200 universal CGC census. I would have kept that one as it has a much greater chance of value growing over time. But if you have the mindset of a collector instead, then a trade like this might make sense if these are books that you enjoy more.

If they are anything like this Batman, please please pretty please hold on to these books - and don’t be quick to trade them.

Interesting video and decision. As long as you are happy with the deal, then that’s all that really matters but because you asked.. I, personally would not have made that trade (and I don’t collect DC, Golden Age or Batman)! I just know that you will be extremely hard-pressed to ever add that Batman book back. It is scarce, significant and a really nice “sexy” investor-grade copy! Thanks for sharing and best of luck with your collecting goals!

The Batman book is super rare and difficult to tell exactly the value. My guess is that the value of the trade is pretty close with a slight edge to Batman. That being said, i admire your focus on your goal and getting it done!

Every trade is personal but as long as your happy that’s all that matters

I like that you are realistic with your goals. It’s ok to let go of good books to get good books. I think you did ok. If you want to let go of any other golden age in a trade let me know.

@@ComicsWithBonics Cool. I sold it about 8-9 years ago in the raw... but it wasn't easy to move. It's hard to sell books that aren't super key or high grade. Plus, people like to talk up the golden age, but I don't know a lot people who actually collect the golden age other than the affluent hard core collectors in the US. So I think trading it for some silvers was a good move.

Hold on to your other golden age books, that’s my thought. Maybe next time you can trade several other silver or Bronze Age keys to acquire the books you want. There’s a reason these GA collectors can’t wait to trade silver age for golden age.

I like the trade except I’m passing on the lizard. The tanning is really bad. No curb appeal.

100% the Batman book was better and will most likely go up more in value. Silver age marvel has shown how hyped up it is and I think it still has more to drop.
