As a freelance filmmaker/film editor, every year or so I find myself trying odd jobs (fitness associate, working in a warehouse, etc.) for the same exact reason of not only having extra income but just to switch up my environment and try something new. Being a creative full time is fulfilling, but exhausting. Not making art my full income allowed me be more selective and pursue projects based on passion vs. desperation.

TLDL: I enjoy part time creating over full-time. Full-time "influencing" requires the delusion to assume people actually care about knowing my every move. (I don't even care about my every move LOL.) I will continue to pop on both channels when I have a storytime, experience to share or something educational. I genuinely cannot bring myself to make errand lists, record myself crying trying to be "raw" and relatable or showing my bedroom doing tours. It's weird LOL. Also I'm forcing myself to attend community college classes in person starting in summer!! I have time for a part time job or I can do one or the other.

let's break this down. $4000 for a 1 to 2 minute spot. that spot brings brand awareness and customers to said brand. said brand makes sales and a profit. which is good because said brand has employees to pay (employees feeding their families). said brand might ship items, so now the economy at large is benefitting (truckers, warehouses, packaging manufacturers). said brand pays taxes which goes into public services. influencers need to get over their imposter syndrome. it's important work and those who think it's silly don't understand economics. you've made quite a few of these "existential crisis" videos over the past 18 months. here's a quote that might give some clarity. "every where you go, there you are" the call might be coming from inside the room.

Not religious anymore, but when I used to go to church I volunteered as a Sunday school "teacher" aka daycare for the 3-4 year olds. Just a once a week commitment for just a few hours and it could offer good opportunity to find aligned friends/community. Or volunteer work with special needs, or maybe work at a flower shop/planet nursery. Since money isn't an object, definitely lean toward something that will bring you fulfillment/peace♡

This is exactly what I was thinking about today! Working with the kids at a church. I’m not sure what the requirements are, but I think if I attend long enough and just ask somebody it’s possible. I went on a few dates with a guy who did this, and he found it very fulfilling. He works from home and got completely bored as a programmer, and it filled that natural void for intimacy.

I always wondered about people who influenced full time. I can see how it can get boring doing the same thing. Like opening pr packages and filming grwm and things as such. Thanks for being transparent! Praying that The Lord continues to lead you 🤎

Kelly Kelly! Get your degree and get a job in avionics. It seems like that's what you're meant to do. You have brains, looks, humor and talent. You have the whole package, go for it! Please don't regret not getting your degree, time passes by VERY quickly the older you get. Also, i would love to see the artwork! I didn't know you could draw... Thanks for this very honest talk, I'm sure influences are bored out of their minds sometimes if they do similar content as you. People need people and the younger you are, the more social you should be. Having a purpose in life is a GREAT thing and not to be underestimated. Wishing you all the best!

I've loved your channel since I found it a year ago!! I do see your point - having a job does give some type of structure and a different purpose outside of ourselves, a feeling like we are contributing to a community. You will have a unique perspective going back into the job force, and you may very well treat it like a hobby you get paid for! Which is a dream in and of itself :) You don't need to work a 9-5, you *want* to. Cheers Kelly!

That’s a great way to look at it. It’s the same reason why I wish all influencers would work a serving job or have some type of responsibility before living the lavish life. I feel like I’m the only one without rich parents backing them up. Being in the service industry showed me that most of humanity sucks, but you can draw inspiration from it lol. If I was an actress, I would see it as method acting.

I totally get this. I read something today that really put life into perspective. In the Bible before Adam got a wife, he had a job. We were meant to work. The accomplishments we have die with us. Work isn't the way to achieve the goal. It is the goal. You just need to find what it is you'd rather be doing, and do that. And for me that was giving up making other people money and watching my own kids. I"ll get back to "work" when they're older. Love this Kelly! I hope you find something cool!

Girl, I feel you! I got tired of it and super burnt out. After doing it full time for years I chose to work part time jobs. In the past two years, I have been a server, a weed budtender, smoothie maker, receptionist, bartender, and an optometric assistant. And now I’m back in university after dropping out 5 years ago so I can find a full time job after and make KZread my hobby again. Views have gone soo low ever since I stopped posting as much but I have more peace and can enjoy it more now. Best of luck! Looking forward to seeing your journey! 🫶🏽

I’m going through this now. 25 and have been a self employed at home with no one to see and no where to be, sitting around, for 5 years. Lol! (I’m not a career women either, which is why I chose a job from home with my own schedule) I always think about the times where I was never on the phone and I was going to school, always with friends. Now I go online because I’m so bored all the time and it’s so unfulfilling. I want to be busy with work and friends and forget the phone again!!! It’s funny because I just applied to Panera 5 days ago and I am SOOOO excited to work a part time job too Im going to quite this job where I’m sitting at home, work part time at Panera and go to school for a career. I want a job with people, stress, goals etc. I want to be excited again!!

I think I’m about the same age as Kelly. I graduated college in 2019 and have been an electrical engineer since I worked really hard to get this career and it did provide me a lot of life changing moments and money, but I also feel like it’s not my purpose A lot of times I fantasize about being a cashier or being a tutor like I was during college. Because right now I just feel constantly stressed about deadlines and mind numbing engineering work. Having an easier job sounds like it would be kind of fun

I understand your perspective. Initially, I believed I was a highly creative individual who found fulfillment solely in creating art or music. However, I gradually came to realize that creation wasn't my primary motivation; rather, it was fueled by curiosity and a commitment to learning new skills. While I deeply enjoy being a musician, I also feel drawn to more analytical pursuits.
