I'M DECLUTTERING EVERYTHING...things I’ve learned from my *luxury* minimalism journey

Hello, my luxurious friends!
I've been really into decluttering lately. I feel like this is definitely part of my "luxury minimalism" journey or whatever you want to call it lol. I feel like you can definitely have a luxurious lifestyle without owning SO many things.
Hope you enjoy. Let me know if you have any video ideas!

I’m getting ready to move right now too and with regard to selling furniture, I sold almost all of our on FB marketplace. It was amazing. You have to price it to sell though bc that’s the only way it will move quickly so as long as you’re ok with making sure the item goes to a new home vs trying to recoup money on it, it will sell. Good luck on your move. Moving sucks so much! 🤡

You are so right! I always tell myself I will declutter after I moved, which I never did! So I still have the clothes I got 10 years ago! Now I’m decluttering 10 years of my stuff , it was not fun, but I’m glad I’m doing it now, or I might end up with 20 , 30 years of stuff lol Also your video make me feel like I’m not doing it alone! Thanks for another video, Can’t wait to see your new place :)

LOL I am all about returning stuff I don't like. If I order something and as soon as I receive it, try it on, and I don't like it on me, I go and return it immediately. Its funny, because when I go into Nordstrom, as I approach the counter, the SA girls are already asking me, "You have a return?", before i even get to the counter. I know they don't like the amount of times I go in to return stuff, but I do keep most of my orders too. Online shopping is the norm and they need to understand that I can't try the stuff on when shopping online.

I try to declutter once a month. I give away clothes and shoes. The only thing I sell are my purses. Everything else goes to either the Goodwill or the Salvation Army. My aunt always told me, how are you going to be able to receive new things if you dont clean out the old stuff?

Oh I am that girl with a lot of old electronics (and their boxes). Moving is hard, but decluttering can feel rewarding ... After the annoyance of actually getting rid of the stuff has passed.

Habitat for humanity restore. I’m new to your channel like very new so I have no idea where your area is but I suggest hitting them up they also pick up and always appreciate furniture. You can really help a poor person or family live in a comfortable environment by donating to them. Also they will give you a tax right off for the value of the item and every location I’ve been too has let me pick that amount so I haven’t felt ripped off.

OMG! I need help..LOL. Remember that backpack by Bally I want. There's 9 left system-wide. Its 50% off now at $1150 (orig. $2300). I want it, but I don't need it. Should I buy it, being that it will be my first designer bag. I feel Bally is designer; just underrated. Also, there are these 2 designer tees I want. They are 40% off - now $87 each (non-logo-mania), I have 3 from the same designer brand yet to be worn. I love the fit and the jersey feel of the soft cotton its made from, but should I buy the 2 new colors even though I haven't worn the 3 I bought early this year? They are essentials, but I tend to grab other clothes to wear when doing errands. I don't need to de-clutter, because all I have and own are essentials, but I feel I need to buy more of the same tees in FOMO because these colors may never get released again and may never come back. What should I do? I'm just like all the youtubes who buy in excess (of bags) only to display them on shelves. I display my tees on hangars...LOL. Keep in mind my tees can be worn day/night. Should I buy them? Let me know before they sell out.

Your comment led me to think about something, I have questions- appologies in advance::: How was your childhood? Did you have both parents growing up? U read somewhere if somebody us too indecisive then it's linked to their relationship with their father/ not being loved enough,?

@@Manifesting_Secret_Sketchbook Yes, I have both parents growing up. Both my parents worked, but my relationship with them today is better and we are very close. My childhood was good with my parents, except I was that kid everyone teased, made fun of, and had my lunch money stolen by bullies. I got spat at, bullied to no end. I spent most of my time hiding from them in the library during lunch. I am older today. People treat me differently - way better now than when I was a child. I must admit, people are more receptive to me. I tend to receive a lot of compliments on my appearance. I had to work on external self, because I know my confidence stemmed from being harassed when I was young. I don't give people the time of day. I am cordial and polite towards people, but I don't give a sh*t about any of them.

@@Manifesting_Secret_Sketchbook HI again..please read my first response to you before reading this. To clarify, the people I dislike and don't give a sh*t about are the types of people I grew up with. For example, I have a very close friend (not close anymore) who use to name call i.e. fag, gay, queer. Well, this friend now has a gay daughter and all of a sudden he is all about supporting LGBTQ. To me that is B.S. because if he didn't have a gay daughter, he'd still be in the mindset of name calling those under the LGBTQ community. I don't dislike everyone and everybody. I just don't trust many people, because people, many of which are hypocrites and many are selfish, insensitive and entitled.

@@KateSwan retro computing is getting really big. lots of old computer programs just can't be run on modern systems, so you need the hardware of the era to be able to run them. and with how old this stuff is getting, a lot of it doesn't have many years left before it decays too much to be usable.

Real talk...are you losing significant money in all the things youre selling? You do buy a lot of your luxury items secondjand, so that may help but i find the resell is so low for many luxury items its not worth it for me to sell vs give to my daughter. Although i think a I have a fraction of your collection so space is not an issue for me!

Like you mentioned, I only purchase pre-loved so even though there are times when I lose money selling a bag, it’s not usually a lot because I didn’t pay retail for it. But for shoes, yes absolutely I’ve lost money on shoes. I bought most of them 3-5 years ago and I was not careful about my purchases at the time so now I’m selling them at a loss.
