I have a strong feeling these dolls were designed a long time ago and just sat there without going intro production. Just comparing the new sunny and the new skyler that’s gonna come out, they’re on another level and more in tune with RH current design aesthetic/vibe. Not even the base dolls are great

Definitely feel the same way. I’m glad they released as these have been so heavily requested buuuut… maybe they could have given them some accessories? Or a new face paint design?

I think they’re just trying to give us new dolls to replace the series 1 dolls. Sunny is as updated as she gets with all new edges and no bangs, not to mention more points of articulation than the original.

I do know the second outfit sunny wears 100%showed up in the show and everyone lost their minds saying they needed it so I'm not mad at the second outfit being a recolour

I feel like RH's biggest strength is that they can replicate real-life fashions into doll scale. Runway takes a more avant-garde approach than what we're used to for the brand and while I welcome said style, I feel like they still need some work. I really dig Sunny's umbrella dress, but I feel instead giving a second dress, they could've used the budget to perfect the umbrella dress with details like maybe clouds or any kawaii motiffs. While the runway dolls are crazy insane, a lot of them look like they could really benefit from the budget of the second outfits tbh. To me, its seems that RH is currently going through a transitional stage were they start to explore more fantasical clothing especially with storywood coming up so maybe they're seeing what works and what doesn't(but that's just me, don't take my word for it). For me tho, I'll probably have to skip this line even though I really love Sunny. RH is not my priority so I'll be happily to wait for a sale.

i think the word to describe Sunny's outfit it's camp. this look its camp, fun, obnoxious and different. i love when they just have fun with the designs 💖

I have no idea why they chose this runway from 2 years ago, after just finishing the contest. I’m not convinced these dolls aren’t from that time and sat in a warehouse. Lately it’s been easier and easier to pick out what items are just repainted.

Because it takes 1,5-2 years start to finish to make dolls. The fact people were hounding MGA to make these dolls and that they weren't planned means it was going to take at least 1,5 years to get it done.

@myra0224 it does take that long. Maybe not 2 years since the base doll itself exists already, so probably closer to 1,5 years. Idk how much we can go by the timeline that MGA shared when that one creator accused them of stealing her looks for a doll, but that should give us a rough estimate. Then we gotta factor in the pandemic.

@@fridawarnemyr6025 I just don't really believe that because it wouldn't make sense with most doll releases. MGA is a huge doll brand, with a lot of designers and factories who probably work 24/7

I feel the second outfits are the recolors meant for the canceled fashion packs, especially since the shoes were a lot of recolors too.

I want both Sunnys ! I like this hair better than the 2 pack, but I love her teddy bear/child outfit on the other.

The box looks gigantic! I feel like these would've been a huge success if they had come out close to Winter Break or instead of it.

The box design is absolutely gorgeous.

I think Sunny looks spectacular. I love her face, her hair, both her dresses and shoes. She wins my favorite pick of all. I especially love her hairstyle. I love the second outfit because it (almost) looks like the one she wears in the first season and it fits her nicely. I love the shade of pink on her lips. She’s overall a win for me 🎉

5:05 the thing is it’s not that they have their basic makeup it’s actually lowkey just Sunny. If you look at that certain episode you will also see that Sunny is the only one with the „same“ makeup as before while the other dolls have different makeup

Boo :( I don’t understand taking the most fun character with the coolest look in the line and giving her the same makeup as always. That’s good for the other girlies but why did Sunny have to be shafted

I love the box 😭 and i'm glad we have more polished versions of every series 1 girl now, and I am excited for Poppy and Amaya

It would have been interesting if she had a blue gem teardrop on her cheek and/or some of those raindrop strands coming from her ponytails.

I don't collect Rainbow High, but that box is epic for display purposes (sorry that yours got crushed). Your videos are so chill, thank you for making these

I think these would have popped off IF they came out when the outfits were first seen in the show. I feel eh about them personally. I’m really only excited for skylar and Amaya. I think they should have redesigned the outfits slightly just to update them to match the newer rainbow high girls. Sunny should have had rainbow makeup btw. Like an actual rainbow coming out of the corner of her eye not just all the colors in eyeshadow

I have a theory that they waited for the right things to be made before the Runway Dolls arrived, like the fabric shoes, new molds and etc

i think they where trying to replicate the exact looks form the show and thats why sunny make-up is simpler. i feel like this doll would have benefited if they had changed the designs from the show ever so slightly with more extravergent make-up and deffently a necklace of some kind. the umbrella dress is so cool and i haven't seen anything like it before but i feel like theres to much empty space between the top of her dress and her head and if they where to put little water drops necklace there like the one on her dress it would fill in the space and connect the doll more to the dress. im excited to see the other dolls from this line, what iv seen off poppy so far she has a really pretty face and a amazing dress to look forward too.

Why does no one like violet ? She’s one of my favs. That one episode where she got locked in the bathroom was funny 💜

Yeah, I agree with you: I'd rather the first look be elevated and lose the second outfit. Which is weird! One of the things I loved about original RH was the multiple outfit pieces. But as cool as these runway looks are, they feel a little unfinished

I believe Sunny wore the second outfit in the episode where Ruby gets invited to a party by Colin. Those were her party clothes.

💛 I prefer the Runway Sunny face! Its a nice updated look of the original, and in my opinion it looks better than the one in the 2 pack as well.

im not sure if the two new sunny have the same face mould or if there different, its really hard to tell but to me the baby hairs on the FF sunny are bigger and so is her forehead but that might just be the way the hair is styled. its crazy how much a different hairstyle and makeup can make a dolls face look completely different. FF sunny does say 2023 on her head and it seems strange that they would do two different facemolds for the same character in the same year but if they are different then maby its because they wanted either the FF sunny to be reminiscent of series 1 so they changed her face ever so slightly to more resemble that time or they wanted the 2 pack sunny to have a unique face mould because she's a special edition.

I love that they recreated the recolored outfit from the show as her second outfit. Wonder why they didn't do that for the other characters.

I do agree with the point that this release is very interesting. I also think it’s cool that they even made the dolls in general because I feel like they were very high concept dolls, so I really was not expecting them to get produced and I think the final product is OK considering how they looked in the show.

I love this sunny! I wanna make a runway for all the girls on display. she had glitter gel on her braids front and back on the show, I’m gonna add it to her hair! ❤️ I love that runway dress. This is a beautiful Sunny for sure! I love the Luna and sunny dolls but these runway looks hold the most special place in my heart! ❤️❤️❤️ I think the price is reasonable for these crazy outfits and extras. We’ve had worse. Also I like the second outfit. It’s fine! Can do a lot with those pieces.

I might get poppy for her dress. But i am very underwhelmed by this line. Waiting for shadow high series 3. See what that brings.

I think that you are a bit disapointed because you just opened the best Sunny doll ever not so long ago. Also I feel like the fact that this outfit is ONLY yellow basicaly makes it very one dimension. It's a bit less appealing than the other Sunny dolls that have white and silver parts and pieces in her outfits. I agree with you that this design was the most mind blowing and original on the show but my most expected doll for this series is Jade! She looks incredible! 💚💚💚

I think there are variations in the make up, because my rainbow Sunny is very different from yours. She has very beautiful make up above the eyes. It is very bright yellow, almost the same as the Sunny from the two-pack, but without the glitter. There is also almost no shine on her face. She is very beautiful.

yeah i think shes a bit too simple and couldve used taller boots to be more heavily represent rainboots, perhaps opera length gloves with strings of raindrops, strings of raindrops in her hair, or some kind of headpiece evocative of a rainhat. Sunny and her dress are campy and they couldve/shouldve done more with it.

I honestly miss second outfits. As someone who is 1000% buying the Poppy doll, her second outfit is just gorgeous along with her runway which is stunning. As much as Karla and Priscilla are my absolute favourites I own now, second outfits in their colour would have been killer! But I am an older audience so for kids, I do get that accessories are better. (I like the cheaper cost too). In any case Sunny looks great! And I’m so excited to see what the rest of them look like! (I’ve also been waiting for this line for awhile so I’m very excited!)

The umbrella dress is a marvel of construction especially at doll size scale. I'm not crazy about it though I much prefer the Sunny from the twin pack. That's more my style.

I think that Sunny is missing a few accesories just to make her look more cohesive and special, i mean, the clothing is good and the base doll is cute, but it seems quite basic 🤔

Looking at my Runway Sunny now, and while she IS gorgeous, and while I get that there's only so much that they could fully duplicate from the show onto her doll in real life, something about this doll feels....off?.....missing..? I feel genuinely bad for saying that too because ever since I saw her runway look on the show I swore that I would get her if they ever came out with a doll of her like that. Now that I actually have her and see her in person I just feel heavily underwhelmed despite them getting the clothes right. Maybe if they had given her more bold dynamic makeup with more metallic golden hair like in the episode instead of just straight typical yellow.? My rating of her would probably go up. I'm really wondering if I should've just went with the Sunny & Luna twin pack instead.

I really love sunny i know jade's dress glows in the dark. I am hoping they all have a transformation gimmick to them like the episode. A little bit of fabric modpodge will seal that faux painted pleather fabric in and keep it from chipping overtime but also you can repair it with angelus brand leather paint repair then color match and it will help restore the chipped fabric.

I took the umbrella dress apart. Now I have a mini dress and the umbrella skirt to add back on either upright or upside down.

I think it's so weird that sunny and Skylar have such series 1ish makeup, because the rest of the line has such incredible screenings. Some of them make even better use of the s1 face mold than 2 pack sunny. They really dropped the ball facially on her

Runway episode was 3 years ago when rainbow high came out in 2020. It took mga this long to make the rainbow Runway dolls I love these dolls I'm just curious as to why it took them so long to get made and now out.

I feel you on being conflicted. Like should they have released this earlier? Yes, for sure, but they were focusing on so many other dolls that got released last year. Then should they have never released the runway fashion series if they couldn't have done so earlier? I mean... lots of people wanted these, and now they're here. I wish Sunny this face was the official Series One face sculpt. I'll be lucky if these ever go on sale in Canada!

the extra outfit was unnecessary tbh I would’ve been okay with just the dress and some accessories… Love the base doll tho it’s probably my favorite sunny besides the two pack! I love the simple makeup bc it gives collectors an updated series one doll with a new sculpt!

I ordered day one so I think about a week? It took them two days to get the package out of the warehouse I think?

In the series they are revisiting these outfits and fun fact that if watch the series from the beginning sunny is the only one wearing her second outfit in the series

They are coming out with way too many for me to keep up with. I’m starting to chose one or two because I like to focus on my BJD’s. Out of this run, I’m definitely getting Amaya. Love her dress.

Honestly I never really liked the runway outfits in the show. Sunny’s especially is goofy and looked better before the transformation. So I never had high hopes for the doll versions. That being said, while I do wish they released the default/untransfotmed version of the dress over the transformation version I do like this Sunny more than her default Series 1 doll. Mostly because of the hair. I’m not a big fan of the hair on her default doll whereas the hair on her runway doll is actually really cute. I also like the face a bit more. Still, if I’m being honest my favorite Sunny doll is actually Jr High Sunny! She’s just really cute. The only drawback of that doll is the lack of a stand. But, yeah. While this isn’t the worst Sunny doll it’s far from being my favorite.

I agree with you. I love the dress so so much. It has big Card Captor Sakura vibes and is so fun, but the accessories and base doll don't seem to match the dress at all and are very disappointing. Thank you for pointing that out. I wish they would rerelease this dress on a fancier base doll with more well thought out accessories with only one outfit and a slightly higher price if absolutely necessary to get better quality and cohesion in the overall design.

I feel like they should do new updated releases for series 1+Amaya and Bella with new outfits ,hairstyles etc because atp, RH started in 2020 so that would mean that the first years (aka series 1/ some of series 2-5) should all be Juniors/Seniors rn so it would make sense to give them updated looks but I know realistically their not gonna come up with new updated designs for 30+ characters 😂😂but it really would be nice to get updated dolls to show the growth of not only the brand but as well as the characters 💕 also is it just me but does Sunny look like she has a new eye mold ? For some reason her eyes look seemingly smaller these last 2 Sunny releases compared to S1,WB,and Cheer Sunny

I think she is beautiful and unique plus i feel her face is rounder than the series one sunny doll which is interesting... I was looking at the dolls from this line and I noticed that the skyler doll has a demin that is very similar to kim nguyen colour scheme so im worried about that. Sunny looks awesome and I dont think she needed any accessories as it lets the dress have center stage

Only Jade and Poppy have second outfits that are worth it. Everyone else's second outfits are so boring. I would say Sunny has the worst second outfit, but Amaya's is worse. That said I probably will still get all of them because I love the runway looks. or at least 6 of them, I don't like Amaya's runway look.

I'm a bit cofused about the skin. Does she have the same pearly shine on her face as the old ones? Cause I prefer the more matte/natural skin of the newer dolls.

It's sort of an odd choice to come out with dolls that aren't relevant to the animated series anymore? Like, they don't have to stay chronological to the show and it doesn't matter to me as someone who doesn't follow it but considering all the other dolls are, these feel out of place being from season 1. idk I have to imagine these just got stuck in production purgatory really early on

I have never been a fan of the original sculpt or the shimmer, and I only have a few of those dolls. There have been so many RH/SH dolls in the past few years that I like better. I really dislike yellow, especially in bright shades, so it is hard for me to look at Sunny objectively. However, to me, Poppy and Skyler are the best of this series, but even their outfits aren't spectacular. I'm having to split my doll money among several lines, and I will likely not be buying any of these except maybe Poppy.

Run way sunny and series 1 sunny facemolds are very different

This feels like a old doll I probably will not get this doll because it seem old and basic.😔 but it still looks very cute💜💜 I am more of a fan of the show and the fashion show episode came out in June 2021

Perhaps the second outfits were meant for a fashion pack . If this line is an afterthought, they may have cancelled the fashion packs and added them to the runway dolls to call them ‘deluxe’ and sell them for £35-£40. I think a lot of collectors will keep the dress and sell the second outfit.

It would have made more sense to me if the umbrella dress were turned down instead of up. It would look like a proper umbrella and a proper dress and then you could have raindrops running down and create a sort of fringe with them. I feel like they overthought this. She’s still super pretty though.

Can't pinpoint what it is for me but most of this series is underwhelming. I think the only one i was is Sunny lol

They were boring when we first saw them on the show. I don't know why some people wanted this bland ass runway line so bad. Jade's dress was the only one with a bit of an interesting design, but we all know they couldn't make an electric dress for a doll. After series 1 & 2 this is the first line where I don't want a single one of them.

Series 1 Sunny looks horrible in comparison to this one. I am not a fan of the umbrella dress though.

weird, i love the hair andmakeup but hate all of the clothes, except for the earrings. the fact that she comes with only earrings andno other jewellery is weird.

Screening is mid Outfit and hair are cut!

I’ve seen much nicer runway Sunny’s , .. you just happened to get a really scruffy one. The hairstyle is quite cute but it’s not executed very well on this doll. Factory hair styles are always a mess
