I also got a black tip shark once and tons of fish

Are you fishing East or West of the OIB pier? Also do you ever fish Shallotte inlet? I will be there mid October and looking for some fun fishing.

I am most often surf fishing east of the pier which if you come off the bridge is to the left. And I have fished shallotte inlet it’s just not that great to surf fish because of the weeds...
