They do not age slower, actually. Smaller dogs don't get as many health complications in older age as big dogs do, so they generally live longer. Large dogs, such as the Great Dane and German Shepherd, are more prone to back and hip problems when they get a certain age.

@@surialpaca6542 Bulldogs have a lot of health issues due to how they were bred. Respiratory issues, hip dysplasia (I believe the majority of bulldogs end up with hip dysplasia, actually), etc. Pure breed dogs end up with health issues more than mutts, as well. Life expectancy for bulldogs is about 10 to 11 years.

I fell in love with Taj! My dog Hermie is 12 now and he can talk too. The older he gets, and the more he sees how happy it makes me, he's making up verses himself. Good thing, all loving phrases. ha ha Too funny. Hermie says, "Hello with love to Taj!" xoxo
