I Love These Miter Corner Clips!

I was trying to describe these to my brother over the phone, so I just shot a quick video to share with him. I didn't realize until a little later that I had made the video public, so sorry it is not the most professional quality.
You can usually find these clips for around $9 or $10 on AliExpress. My pack came with 10 clips and the tool for opening them. Not sure why they give you 10... Thinking sets of 4 would be better.

Nice, I would have assumed you could just squueze it by hand but I guess they're quite beefy?

    Does it mark the wood?

It can leave a mark on either side, depending on the softness of the wood. This is cedar which is pretty soft. I haven't tried it with hardwood yet.

I was working on these late last night and I learned the hard way that if you accidentally let go of the clamp and your finger is in a bad spot, it will definitely leave a mark on you. I know it goes without saying, but figured you might be amused by my pain.

What does this comment mean? Cut 8 mm off what? He's showing miter clamps. Clamps that have been around forever.

I assumed that he meant to glue the corner up as side to end. i.e. not a miter. There are obviously many ways to glue up a miter corner. Izzy swan has a video where he makes some miter clamping blocks that are nice, but probably not for picture frame miters. In this case I needed something just to hold the frame together so I could eyeball positioning. then I am gluing the frame down to a planter box as the top border. I didn't actually glue the miter joint, just glued and nailed it down. I just needed something to hold it all in place so the frame pieces weren't falling off while I was setting it up to nail. The planter box is the design you would see on the WhosTheVoss channel.
