I Love These Agates! Cutting & Cleaning Beautiful Fortification Agates from Haunted Ridge! | Part 2
In this one, we cut and clean all of our specimens from our recent trip to Haunted Ridge in Missouri! I selected a heap of rocks to cut and an even bigger heap of rocks to put through the iron out. Our results were fantastic! The red stained druzy clusters transformed into pristine glitter bombs, well defined crystals with great luster were revealed beneath the iron staining, but I have to admit that even with so many unique crystal specimens, it was the incredible fortification agate that stole my attention! These things are just SO much fun to cut open, and I was shocked to see how much variation in color was hiding inside! After cleaning and cutting so many different Haunted Ridge specimens, I simply can not wait to go back! I hope you all enjoyed, and I will have another one out soon!

When you get yellow after Iron-Out, soak it in bleach. If it turns orange, you can hit it with Iron-Out again and it will clean up some more. Yellow happens when your Iron-Out is getting loaded with iron and starts to form iron oxalate. Bleach breaks down the oxalate and turns the iron back into iron oxide which Iron-Out can then remove.

Thank you. I was wondering why my stones turn yellow.

@@beverlymasonlpcpc4264 Let me know if it works for you!
I feel like a kid in the Willy Wonka agate factory. Yum yum.
Wow! Those are amazing specimens. The crystals with the agate covering is my fav!
The agates are AMAZING and the druzy bots are killing me! GAH! Thanks for the video, Theo. I couldn’t even get to the end of the video before commenting. ❤ -Muh
Wow, that is some INCREDIBLE agate! Absolutely gorgeous!
Great finds. The Chrystal’s on the big piece are so rainbowy. I’m glad you use a water pick. Thanks.
We can't wait to go to Haunted Ridge!
yesss more appreciation for missouri lace!!
Absolutely GORGEOUS AGATES! WOW! Love it! 😊
Beautiful, sparkly banded rocks Thank you so much for sharing. :)
Awesome stuff Theo. I plan on getting there myself this summer.
Looking forward to polished specimens. Beautiful lace agate!
Haunted Ridge is 6 and 1/2 hours from me and yes I am planning to go there! Those are so crazy beautiful!
I've been waiting to see what you cut and polish up...I have buckets of this material myself. Super cool!
Stunning! The results you got are well worth your work. I appreciate your need for speed in compiling this video, but just for myself, I wished I could have slowed your 78RPM to 33 1/3 RPM (you're probably not old enough to understand that reference). Many of us seniors like to take more time to savor the moment. Thanks for sharing these videos.🏎🏃♀💿⏩
Awesome. Been waiting for this cutting video. 😃🏔🪨
Theo, the slabs at the 8 minute mark brought out the carnivore in my omnivore because they looked just like bacon strips. Maybe even candied bacon strips.😋😄

Oh wow😍❤️absolutely amazing ones❤. No wonder u want to go back👍😍👋🇫🇮
Sweet findzzz!!! Great Video!!!
Stunning
Nice score. I had the same feelings when hubby and I scored on lace. Amethyst in Florence, Arizona area.
I love cabbing the agate from Haunted Ridge Rocks.
Soooo beautiful!
Gotta love it!
These are beautiful!
And this video is why i always tell people- Dont buy foreign stuff unless you've checked "local" (from ya own backyard/country) first. Who needs crazy lace from mexico or central/south america when you have glorious specimens like this :D

you're so right
The bumpy, cloudy crystal at 3:20 looks like Stilbite!
JUST WOW!!!!!!
Wow! Those cut really nice. Beautiful stuff.
I live an hour from Haunted Ridge and have hundreds of pounds from there! Love that place
Ha ha 😆 yeah you’ll get better stuff next time. Stoked to see what you cut though! Next time you’re here we’ll see if we can find you any of the red agate 😉
Those pieces are so freaking beautiful! OMG! How can you not love the agate best from Haunted Ridge? It is so beautiful; and that big specimen piece you found is probably the nicest agate I've seen from there, bar none! It's gorgeous! And I am the same way! I absolutely love the agate best! How can you not? I love crazy lace agate so much and when I found out Haunted Ridge had agate that was similar to crazy lace, it was all over for me. Don't get me wrong, the crystal specimens are phenomenal but the agate is some of the best I've seen around! So pretty! Thank you Theo, for making a video of the gorgeous agate you found! And an annual trip to Haunted Ridge is definitely called for! Lol!
Stunningly beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Iron Out worked wonders on the stones.. I never saw Lace Agate in Montana stones. Thank you so much for cutting them & soaking them.. All the pieces & faces on the one at 10:32 mark are so Stunning.. Just WOW ! !

These rocks aren't from Montana. They found them on their road trip to see the eclipse
Awesome finds. When you face polish some of them I'd love to see your techniques. I use a flat lap but sometime have difficulty getting scratches out of the center. I'm hoping you can tell me how you mix your iron out ratio or measurements and how long you soak your crystals. Thanks, love tapping into your expertise.
I have not been there, but I have traded for some of the HR material. I have a couple of videos on it as well. Like you, I'm a Banded Agate junkie. I've done a few cabs with it already and have a bunch more in the works. It does take a pretty good polish even though the banding displays a little bit of undercutting. Which means it will work just find for jewelry, but not for competition. I look forward to seeing how well you are able to polish those pieces.
At 8:00 giving agate bacon vibes!🥓🥓🥓
YEAH NEW VID LETS GOOO
some looked like a piece of bacon!!!! (lairs of fat and meat). 😄😄Love those glittery drusy ones....and crystals and the patterns in those bacon-pieces. 😂
Wow! That is bigger than your head 😂
Wow
Wow I gotta get there

Oh dude! I'll have to check that out! We're definitely going back next year to spend some time in Missouri so I'll have to check it out!
So Dude... When are you (and your upgraded lady-friend) going to host another fabulous sales-stream? You've hinted and talked in brief past mentions and teasers on the subject,
I’ve wondered for a long time, is that a d&d battle mat on your table?
Do ultrasonic cleaners have any value in cleaning stuff like this.
I just uploaded a Haunted Ridge video! 😆
What is the name of your store? I've been trying to find it.
Why am I craving bacon now?!?
Some of your cut offs that were flat on the table look like bacon!
Chicka chicka, fake id, whaaaaa..
Aaaaaaaamazing!!!!!
