Also it may be more than this but I really believe the whole Vox vs Alastor thing is just the whole radio vs television thing. And Vox is just petty that Alastor didn’t join his team. But the “old pal” is interesting I have to admit

What I really like about Alastor and Vox's song is how it showcases one of Alastor's key traits- his smile. Accoridng to Vivzie, Alastor believes showing any negative emotion shows weakness. Letting someone have the power to make you stop smiling shows that they are stronger than you. That's why he never stops smiling, no matter what happens. In contrast, Vox shows very early on in his own verse how much he _isn't_ able to stay calm and even-tempered when just talking about Alastor, much less able to keep his confident front when facing the Radio Demon. Basically, Alastor lives in Vox's head, rent free and he knows it. It even goes so far as Vox having a full breakdown at the end just from thinking about how much Alastor makes him angry.

I watched the pilot years ago, forgot all about it, and just picked up the show now and learning this is a deliberate choice by the radio demon is a little bit disappointing lol, or at least anticlimactic The entire time I thought he simply COULDN'T stop smiling because it was connected to some detail about how he died, or some sort of curse or magic hellish quirk or something, and I kept trying to come up with theories for why that is. Something about not having a choice but to smile would have been so creepy and interesting

Again, I love watching Mosco and Elijah identify with the characters in this show. Especially the scene where Vaggie and Angel are ready to kill Sir Pentious. Both of them pointed out that, in this scene, Morgan and Mosco are definitely Angel and Vaggie while Elijah is still Charlie. This show and these reactions are so sweet.

Vox and Alastor duet is so damn catchy and hilarious how much Alastor was roasting the hell out of Vox. Also, what I love about Alastor shutting down the Vox broadcast is that even though Vox is the updated technology, it still operates on the same operating principle of the radio waves. This way he will always be at Alastor's mercy.

One thing I really live about this episode is, I'm so glad they didn't go the obvious, overused "misunderstanding" story route of having Charlie believe Sir Pentious when he got caught and kicking out Angel Dust or whatever for the sake of drama.then the entire next episode would've been about Angle clearing his name. I hate that trope. Glad it was sudestepped here. And instead we got another fantastic song, "It Starts With Sorry."

Val is a moth actually, not a spider. Look at his hat. Also I think he's supposed to be a venomous moth too.

Yeah Lilith and Alastor gone the same length of time has me down the rabbit hole that this may also relate to how the music has gone from diegetic to Nondiegetic for the sinners *others notice singing is happening*, especially with the opening in episode one about Lilith's music empowering Hell...like she is off somewhere causing this to happen.

Your theory on Angel coming from a background that actively clashes with the depiction of childhood in the play is pretty spot-on. It hasn't directly come up in the series proper, but throughout most of the early/concept material, he and his siblings were born and raised in the mafia.

I love how all three of you recognized eachother in the "sorry song" scene

It's called a Fizzy. Mammon makes them, It's like Robo Fizz but there's a bunch of them made for different purposes. Also i never would have guessed Val was Spanish until he said princesa. And Al just doesn't show up on camera because he died before tv, he considers anything after his time is terrible and wants nothing to do with it, his powers are so great he doesn't need to consciously do it, maybe there's more but let's keep watching and find out

9:14 - 9:45 YES! That is exactly what I was thinking while watching the episode! I don’t think it’s confirmed what subcategory of aroace Alastor fits into, but I’m pretty sure he’s definitely asexual (and likely aromantic too, I don’t look into Vivziepop’s social media’s so I don’t know for sure). But Vox on the other hand, seems to be harbouring a LOT of interesting hate that can’t only come from that one little thing of Alastor denying his request to join the V’s (unless Vox is extremely petty, which honestly could be true). MAYBE just MAYBE, Vox has a wee bit of feelings towards Alastor that are kind of boosting his hatred, that are likely unrequited due to Alastor being aroace. Although I’m pretty sure my theory is fanon and likely not going to become canon, it’s still interesting to look into and imagine

Real I can see Vox hating yet harboring deep feelings towards Alastor, maybe having a bit of a crush even, yet I see this trope where he denies it even to himself and tries to believe he only hates him. I think A deeply humiliated Vox at one point, cause other than being rejected Val does say "are you still mad about that time he beat you?" So there was some competition over something else besides just joining the Vs

Given that Helluva Boss is the sister show. It makes sense that they put references to it in the show without specifically crossovers. Mammon did also make Robo-Fizz sex bots I believe. And Alastor himself manipulates any video source he shows up on.

this is like the 8th on 9th person that "that looks a lot like Fizz" a Question: nobody saw the Loo Loo Land episode with the robotic Fizz? nobody saw Ozzy's episode when Fizz explicitly said "you probably seen my face over the robo-mes all over hell (...) made by the man itself (Asmodeus)? and everybody missed the Mamon part of "making sex robots if it sells!" thing? Its getting me confused how so many people dont get why there are robotic Fizzarallis all over hell when Helluva Boss said it out loud several episodes....

I think Alastor just doesn't like television. He has full commitment to his bit and has enough power to warp video of himself.

An interesting dynamic with Angel Dust knowing how drugs and such works in real life and Charlie wouldn't. In fact this entire rehab idea has this one major flaw, Charlie was never human, she's the daughter of a fallen angel and what we are told was the first human woman *theories abound the backstory isn't completely truthful but I digress*, but Charlie never lived on Earth among humans in any era, like Lucifer chances are she has only ever seen the sinners so her ideas of what is good is based on how she feels, input from Vaggie possibly, and doing the opposite of Sinners. Its kind of like when Moxxie tried to be a popular girl at a camp, you could tell his entire idea of popular girl was based on his experience with the Sinners and not on real human interactions. So Charlie is trying, but she's doing it from an outside perspective.

8:45 One little nice touch I've noticed. Charlie in the pilot tried to cover the screen when it was revealed Angel was causing trouble, but she couldn't cuz it's green screen. Vox, however, can push pictures away because he's actually part of the TV. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but just a fun little detail anyway.

Something I noticed while watching this with the GF tonight. Alistor was gone for Seven years....and Charlie's Mom's been gone for Seven years. I'm wondering if those two things are related. Charlie's mom's absence, Alistor's return and, suddenly, the death of an angel? It all feels a bit...interesting..that this is happening NOW when Charlie's finally ready to help people.

Mamon had a couple of female RoboFizzs around him in Helluva. These appear to be similar RoboFizzs. It avoids copyright issues but serves as a callback to Helluva.
