I've been intermittent fasting since around May '21. From fasting alone I've lost around 37lbs. I'm loving the fasting life...and if you fall off some times, just get back up and start again! IF it's a way of life for me now. I'm also dabbling in keto meals but I'm mostly pairing my fasting lifestyle with low carb eating. I only have 31lbs from my goal to be under 200lbs (I haven't been that size in 13 years... I'm so close!) ☺️

Everything you say is true, Myra. PREACH! IF is everything. Along with low carb and keto, I lost 53 pounds before my second pregnancy, and 60 pounds after my second pregnancy. During the 2021 holidays I ate like crazy and I DID NOT feel well. The more I ate, the more hungry I felt. (I was also eating aaaall of the carbs 😬.) The new year came, we got home, and boom, back to IF and keto and I feel SO MUCH BETTER. I'm here to stay in this lifestyle!

I discovered I was a natural intermittent faster when I started learning about keto. I’ve never been a breakfast person and really used to dislike when coaches would give the « eat more often in less quantities » meal plans because I really want nothing in the morning and could easily wait until 2-3pm (when I’m actually hungry). When I ate in the morning I realized I either gained weight or reached a plateau. I’m back with my natural habit + new to keto and it’s working so far. I’ve lost about 4kg in 3 weeks.

Fasting is THE BOMB. So easy to incorporate into any lifestyle. For me it's been keto and low carb since April 2021 with 18:6 IF. Trust me, once you start, you'll be amazed how easily you break your addiction to eating, to snacking, to carbs and to sugar. No more inflammation and bloating, which as a perimenopausal 52-yr-old, I was SO TIRED OF. It is truly a game changer.

I began IF along with low carb eating on August 23, 2021. I am on a 18/6 window. I have lost 52 pounds as of today January 7, 2022. I am 62 years old. Play tennis at least 3 times a week. Did not fall off the band wagon during holidays because I did not want to undo my success. I love this way of life. And I was on top of it all, Insulin Resistant.

Intermittent fasting is a way of living for me. I started April 4, 2018. I have fasted every day since, and cycled in/out of keto, paleo, low carb the whole time. It is hands down for me and my own personal journey, a way of eating that works for me. I have done numerous long fasts, and it’s something that you need to work up to. Long fasts are not something you can just jump into if you haven’t conditioned your body to the intermittent fasting way of life. I have also cycled in/out of charting calories, food, macros and ketone levels. Research and learn about it, and then listen to your body. I love it…it works for me.

I lost 23 lbs during lockdown doing Keto (20 grams net carbs a day) and intermittent fasting a couple days a week (which really helped). So I'm a huge fan of fasting. Oddly I realized I've been doing fasting most of my life, especially when I used to smoke 20 years ago, and I'd have a cigarette and coffee for breakfast and was never hungry till dinner lol! That was my Rock n Roll diet, and probably why so many musicians are so thin!!! But that was a lifetime ago. No more smoking! But I'm just curious how many carbs a day do you do when not in heavy Keto mode, how many carbs to maintain weight? I'm still experimenting to see what works for me (under 50 so far seems to be the tipping point). Thanks! Oh, and I love your channel! x

This is my first time watching any of your videos. And this was a big help and encouraging. I want to start IF after the holidays. I've tried it for a few weeks before and it was very beneficial such as u mentioned. But I fell off bc I wasn't expecting my cravings to be so crazy the week before my period and I wasn't prepared for that and it totally just through me off. Do you have any suggestions on what is good to eat that week before my menstrual starts just so I can be prepared to choose foods in such a way that will not throw me off IF? Thank you! I plan to look through more of your videos. 💕

I was one of those people who LOVED breakfast, breakfast foods etc etc. Never in a million years would I have thought to give up skipping my morning meal. The first few days of IF were ROUGH. I fast from 8pm to 12pm. I Wake up between 6:30am-7am everyday. I would get the most hungry around 8am and 9am so around 10 am I would drink black coffee to help suppress my appetite a bit longer. It worked like a charm! I'm on week 4 and I don't really get hungry in the mornings anymore and if for some reason I do I just go back to my mid-morning handy dandy black coffee. ☕ It has gotten so much easier to make it to 12 pm. However, I still struggle with late evening cravings. Anyone have any tips how to curb that?? I try to go to bed no later than 11pm (can't pass up me time lol especially as a stay-at-home mom).

I would suggest a few more fats in your last meal for the day. You’ve reduced the carbs so you need to provide sufficient fat instead. If my protein is too lean I get hungrier earlier and can’t quite make it to my fasting window.

I started IF coming up on a week and it’s been super easy! I have never been a breakfast eater naturally so the 12-8 eating time frame works for me! I usually stop eating by 7pm 8pm I’m already Tryna settle down and relax , it’s really not bad at all, now you can pretty much eat whatever you want but that will slow your progress down a lot! So try not to do that, fill up half your plates with veggies 1/4 veggies 1/4 carbs whole grain preferably drink Lots of water! And if your craving sweet stuff just make better choices for now , like get baked chips instead of chips, veggies etc. once you get to your goal weight then that’s when you can kinda be more lenient on what you eat on your eating period timeframe. It’s good to add in a 30 mins exercise to get that extra boost of weight loss. Also taking KELP supplements help so much! I already lost 5 pounds and it hasn’t been a week. Look up DR Berger he has really good information on IF and KETO :) good luck y’all ! Here’s to a healthier you.

I'm new to intermittent fasting and do have a question. During your fast and you drink coffee, can you use stevia drops and/or Torani coffee flavoring?

Just want to say that I love your channel. Your recipes have so helpful, especially for desserts.🙄😂 I'm 56 years old and I've been doing Keto since August and I've lost 32 pounds. I used to take high blood meds. I deal with my heart racing alot. Just wondering being on Keto can cause that? Maybe low potassium or dehydration?🤷‍♀️

Ok I’m going to start it today, what do you mean by breaking your fasting? Do you mean at 12 everyday you start with bone broth first? And also during the “fasting” you can have water, black coffee or black tea? Sorry I’ve never done this before

  • @SavannahSmiles04

I just started fasting a few months back and I'm going to defintely add that bone broth. Has not been hard for me except when I cut soda and candies a week ago it was ruff but have better every and currently have covid but feel great. Only two ruff days but did a lil fast in between and pushed that water. Is breaking a fast with avacado on toast ok?

Yes I do intermittent fasting. I do O m a d and keto. This is the only thing that works for me. After I reach my goal weight I will slowly add more carbs but I will probably do omad and keto for the rest of my life. It’s a choice I have made for my health it’s more of a mind set than an adjustment for me.

@@cillaloves2fish688 it’s one meal a day. I realized I was eating just because it was time to eat not because I was hungry but it was just what I would usually do in the morning and midday, when I started OMAD I realized that was enough to keep me from being hungry and between keto and omad I have been able to take the weight off and I did fall off the wagon for a bit but I am back and continue to loose weight I have 20 more lbs to loose and so far I average about a 7 lb loss a month. I feel so much better now. I hope this helps you. Their are a lot of videos on KZread explaining OMAD check them out they can explain it better than I can… good luck…

The important thing is is that U R a nice person on the inside too......Donny and your love story is very sweet and U probably saw people judging U when U were overweight and in turn U don't judge Donny because of his age. Have U ever asked Donny if he would leave U if U gained the weight back? I hope not because U both don't seem superficial like that. Some men R honest and direct and have told their partner if they gain the weight back they probably wouldn't stay with them......Not a great answer but an honest answer. I just get the impression that Donny isn't like that but it's none of my business anyway.

i am a big guy. im over 6ft and over 300 lbs. I go to the gym regularly and cant gain muscle and lose body fat. IWe did blood tests and found out that My T is low so I started doing TRT and my dr also put me on Phentermine and Topiramate. The lowest I got down to was 308. The point is with IF, how many hours should I do? 16:8 is what I see most common. But the biggest issue I see is that during the week i can stick to an eating window no problem. My schedule is regimented during the week. On weekends when I go out with my girl is when I see it being a concern since we go out to dinner. How do I prep if for that If my eating hours change? Do I adjust the next day or the day of? Whats my move then? I am a very black and white person.
