I wrote I'll Trade The Old Cross For A Crown with Russ Taff in 1970. It was written in French and translated by my aunt Vestal Goodman. The song was regularly sung by the Teen Tones singing group where Russ Taff got his start.

I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calv'ry was written in Flemish. It was written on Good Friday of 1972. I was in the foster care system and I was taken to Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Convent in Kansas City. The time I got taken into foster care I was abused for praying the Rosary and Marian Devotions. I was determined to become Catholic even though my mother objected to it.

I will be praying for your sisters family, extended family and friends. We rejoice when our loved ones trade the old cross for a crown, but in our humanity, we grieve their loss on this earth. But, we look forward to being reunited with them. Praise the Lord for His Love and Grace❤️🙏🏻❤️

When God brings up the same subject repeated twice, it is important. when it is 4 times I am listening and sharing how important it is. While picking up donuts for sunday school the Oak Rridge Boys sang The old rugged Cross, playing on Enlighten Radio then the Wilburn and wilburn said we dug out this old song "Had it not been... for the old rugged cross." I think we are gettin' ready for some tears. Pastor Paradee's sermon Mar 13 was The Cross.With tears running down his face he could hardly finish his sentences. Yes this is the major theme for Easter.

Hi Mark. I hope you're well. I was watching some old videos of yours and came across this. I enjoyed and love how you all sung this song beautifully. Michael English has one of those voices that he sings like silk. Also, this is one powerful song to sing. Plus, your voice here blends so well with the others. By far this is one of my favorite songs.
