When I was a little kid, 30 years ago, I have heard these songs in church. It makes me think of some of my people that have passed and gone to our heavenly father.

When a dear Elder walked on, it was such a loss to her community At her.ceremony, until they sang this song, tears rolled down my face. At the hearing of this my heart rejoiced her going home Was just thinking of this at sunrise today. Wado ❤️🌹💯

I love this song and love it with the Navajo words! I actually played this song on my fiddle as our teen choir and adult volunteers sang it in English, when we went with the church youth group to Northern Arizona for a mission trip. The Indian men and women were wonderful and sang "Amazing Grace'" so beautifully for their Sunday service. I actually thought we could learn a lot from the wonderful, spirit-filled, faith-filled service they led. Thank U & may the Lord bless you mightily!

@nijoiz There is no exact Navajo word for "god" or "creator" because traditionally, there is a set of deitites and spirits that sparked creation and organized the world as such. These creators are called the Diyin Dine' or Holy People and Navajo ceremonies appeal to these deities. Individual deity names are Haashch’ééłti’í and Haaschch’é’óghaan. But I know some Navajos say "shidiyin" for Creator which just means "My Holy," which is sufficient enough. I believe the word diyin is adequate for God.
