To support young trees you need to dig next to it put a stake or post 3/4 up the stem next to it, then tie it with rope we do it with our young trees and rose bushes as they get bent over by wind and heavey rain, enjoy your travels.

Plus, with all these organic materials and your food waste you should have build a compost bin. Your trees and plants would benefit and you would make your soil better

You're doing what I want to do . I live in central Oregon, it's the high desert ; about 3000 ft level . Cold in the winter ; hot in the summer with cool nights , not humid , very dry. I've been dreaming of moving to Portugal for a while but have a 90 year old mom that needs me so have to put things on hold . You're doing a fantastic job just don't try to do everything at once so you don't get overwhelmed it'll be there when you return . Keep up the good work

When you want to secure and straighten a tree, you have to use 4 or at least 3 beams or poles around it and by tying the trunk to them you keep it straight and steady.

I will miss these videos. Your place is beautiful.

The only problem with the young oaks is that having grown with so much competition, the acacia, they have had to grow leggy to compete for light, but that breeds in weakness as you see. Stake only for a year or so at most or the weakness will continue. Great proactive move though.

Was that cheper to fly to Stuttgart Berlin and then by train to Basel as a direct fly from Porto or Lisbon to Basel or Zurich?
