June was always helping people peck out of their shells, so to speak. As noted, Luther's face told a different story. God bless them both. ❤

Luther Perkins has never got the recognition he deserved. He was the foundation of the Johnny Cash sound.

You know after not being mesmerized on his eyes after listening to this video 100 times I now just started listening to the song and he's actually a funny guy if you listen to the song it's actually a funny song he's saying that he dropped the money and he try to pick it up and Johnny Cash took it and kept it pretty much for himself and he's like alright f*** it I'll be happy tonight but I'll be miserable tomorrow I love it

Luther died just a year later after this was filmed During the early morning hours of August 3, 1968, Perkins returned from fishing on Old Hickory Lake to his newly constructed home on Riverwood Drive, Hendersonville, Tennessee. He allegedly went to sleep in the living room while holding a lit cigarette, even though he hadn’t smoked in years by this time, according to family. His niece, by marriage, awoke around 6:00 am to find the living room aflame and Perkins collapsed near the door, almost dead. An emergency crew rushed Perkins to Vanderbilt University Hospital, where he was kept under intensive care until he died two days later.[15]

Kind of a weird dude. I never heard him sing before but i've always said that when he's playing guitar for Johnny, it looks like he's thinking there's a hundred better places he could be. He just always looks so bored/timid.

You young fellows out there think that Luther was a fantastic guitar picker, he was good at a 4/4 beat. Boom chic boom chic. Thats it, he was not considered a good guitarist. It took him many times in the studio to get a song down right. Go do the research!
