@@Koolaidbloke dude the fact that this game literally started several entire genres is why it needs to stay. Dayz is why battle royal exists, its why survival shooters exist, its why we have games like Tarkov, never forget the legacy of what dayz created just because you got screwed by a bug. Dayz is a game like arma(duh) and Skyrim, it lives and dies by its mods, and its been like that since Arma 2. Also for the few bugs you encounter with the base game they are rare and not really that major, other than cars and server desync(usually due to servers not being restarted regularly) the game is fairly stable and BI is working on new physics for cars. Also this game has 100+ player servers that run with minimal desync on an outdated engine. its really not that bad, the game as a base is better than anything that's come out in this genre in recent history.

@@lostwizardcat9910 my guy this did not start the battle Royale genre the was a book released several decades before this game came out called “battle Royale” and I did get screwed over by a bug cause there are so many every game I play is a buggy mess the game is shit good stuff may have came out of it but doesn’t make the game good and the games that have come out of it like tarkov are significantly better then dayz could ever be $50 for a bug ridden game is insane the game ain’t even finished and it’s been out for like 5 years

@@Koolaidbloke Dayz did in fact start battle royal. You just seem to think dayz was a random game produced by a company in 2013. Dayz started off as a mod for arma 2 in the very early 2010s and spawned many, many game modes and genres still played today. Including survival shooters, base building survival games, battle royal, King of the hill, and more. The game was a bug riddles mess when it came out yeah, but as of now its a fairly stable game and I have well over 5k hours on standalone, and easily 10k or more on the Arma 2 mod. Tarkov devs literally abandoned half of their game after less than 6 months of its release, Tarkov was originally going to have a survival-esqu single/multiplayer story mode (which is why the food items are in the game to begin with.) As for bugs in standalone the only bug I get on a regular basis is cars freaking out on servers with more than 30 active players. Also in the future please separate your talking points so its not a wall of jumbled text.

@@Koolaidbloke In fact. Dayz standalone completely ignoring the PVP player base is what gave rise to battle royal games as a whole. PUBG scratched the itch that these players had, and in turn other companies copied that formula and added their own twists however extreme they may be. This all came from the Arma2 Dayz mod's various unique server styles, and subsequently dayz standalones failure to hit that niche market. Games like warzone, fortnight, PUBG, H1Z1 apex legends and basically every other battle royal game owe their entire existence to the original dayz mod and the various smaller mods that were added to the main Dayz mod by server owners.

I love how he went "yo friendly here" with the first guy he met, then after he got guns and his pals,he killed everyone that came across.😂

From what I’ve learned from Sovietwomble, you should play as a low-trust player (ie: not trusting anyone, even if they seem friendly due to high risks of being backstabbed for overly trusting people). So I’m surprised he wasn’t killed by the first people he met (who seemed friendly).

The very reason why I stopped playing. This can be fun if you have friends, but if you go into dayz to make friends or do anything besides pvp it is a massive waste of time. Back in the days when DayZ was an Arma2 mod only and it was really difficult to get it working the communities were amazing. Now it seems to be all about pvp and you either belong to a group or you are deadmeat. And I say this after being the medic-hermit of two servers for about a year, patching up random people. DayZ lost its charm for me. If I want to play PVP there are dedicated games for that, I wanted survivors against the zeds and elements with the occasional bandits, not a PVP with extreme-slow gearing up and clunky gunplay where you have to hope that the server registered your hits before the already dead opponent still kills you. What made DayZ unique in the beginning was the survivor element, where PVP was not the focus.

@@thegwolf I whole-heartedly agree with what you've said, the early day were amazing even looking back on all the bugs. The atmosphere is polluted, and I don't ever see it going back to the way it was. DayZ had the potential to be the best zombie zurvival game, now it's just a clunky mess of a pvp looter.

The use of the ingame map to show where you were going in the story was very good and useful you should make that a staple for sure

Damn, after seeing the raid of that first base, I feel dirty just watching this. Poor guys all new to DayZ and now they've lost everything.

That has to be the best hidden base I have seen in all of the years watching DayZ content.

Hell yeah, outro is an trailer for a second episode! I felt like the base was coming up a little weak, so I'm hyped that there's going to be a sequel episode.

I love seeing little hidden comfy living areas and hideouts.

Whenever I make a base with buddies it ends up being raided by at least 5 people at a time. Usually I'd be the only one defending against a squad. It can get really disappointing after the 10th base being raided all the way through. But that's just DayZ

“They’ll never understand your genus until your gone” has got to be one of the hardest lines I’ve ever heard, even knowing the context it was used in the conversation was just a normal thing, but for me, that really is so true, no one ever in this world will fully appreciate and be grateful for what we are and who we were capable of being until we’re gone

Haven’t played DayZ or kept up with it since the early SA days, it’s crazy how much content seems to have been added! Cool video man this looks dope as hell

this is a modded server. i cant actually believe people play a server with mods like this. you have to mf sleep looking at a black screen for 5 mins wtf is that. and surgically removing bullets in between getting rushed by a player. how is that fun surely it just makes the server a pain in the arse to play. way too much rp id rather play a pvp server all day

I know a lot of people who just find normal DayZ boring to play unless it’s just pure pvp. But it’s such a good mix of chill and excitement. I’ve had friends question why I wouldn’t just go in and kill someone if I know where they are like 31:30 but it’s hard to explain that you want to ration yourself since it really is extremely easy to die. Even just taking one stray bullet and getting wound infection can kill your quick.

I don't play DayZ but this was really interesting. I like the commentary explaining the mechanics for those of us that don't play.

Can't wait for round 2! Such a great place to hide away. And possibly some real fun pvp defending. Also, that first go around with an AI was an awesome start with some slight humor.

Hey Nezar!! Not sure if you’ll see this but I love your videos man. I was in a very dark place for awhile due to health related problems. During all of that, your DayZ videos brought me much joy and laughter. I wish you the best man and hope to see you continue creating great content!

It’s because it’s a European modded lag server. Find something with less mods closer to your home and the game plays great.

DayZ is a shit game to play, especially solo. If this seems interesting, I'd recommend Arma 3 and a mod like Exile, if that's still around. It gives the same feel with a much better gameplay experience. Server mods have ai packages, rules to fit various playstyles, vehicles so you aren't stuck in a running simulator. The creator said an hour long vid takes him a week or two to get footage. So, this is seriously time condensed and if you play solo, you'd be like the ghillied guy they killed. It's very much a KoS game, kill on sight. The devs never succeeded in making ammunition valuable for use against the zombies and creating any incentive for players to trade rather than just kill each other.

Never played DayZ long enuff to learn the game. I think I have 5 hours. Rust calls me back over n over. But I've watched a lot of these videos to learn. I've never ever seen this in my life. A base thar wasn't created out of a standing building already. This is amazing. Thanks for showing us this.

I have one of these in 7 days and it's absolute beast mode. I reinforced it and built trapped around and on the platform of the bridge. It's high defensible and works as a natural funnel the zombies just flood into. The higher the bridge the better, but water is best. I haven't played this game yet but I've been working my way to it. The bridge base idea tho I stand behind for sure

It took me weeks to get passed the starvation. Once you figure out which locations are best for different supplies it becomes easier.

I can't usually stand watching games. I'd rather just play it if it's interesting. DayZ is such a shit game to play, though, at least last time I tried it. Me and a buddy, that I cajoled into playing, ran for near an hour to group up and then we got killed by a hacker teleporting around.

It’s funny you mentioned tarkov when that dude was ratting in the train car, cuz whoever made this server clearly wanted to put tarkov in DayZ. Started getting that vibe when your friend had the altyn but really realized it when you had a mischka helmet and your one friend had a ronin and then you mentioned surgically removing bullets and I saw the bronze lion statue, then your friend role playing killa

@@TheFeedGreed That's always been BIs model and lets be honest, it's perfect. I wish cars were more stable and I think gunshot sounds could use a little work, other than that I don't care, take all the devs put them on the arma4 engine, let the modders take over and put some LOVE into dayz. Plus we all get to pick our own dayz that way rather than being forced to play what the devs decide.
