It would makes sense though, this was a big fight for him in the sense that there was a record on the line that would potentially cement him as the GOAT. He is also getting older, fighting guys who are a lot younger, who recover quickly and have less to lose. His strategy would naturally change but I think he is still the real deal but that doesn't mean he won't one day meet his match. Anything is possible right.

Jones clearly didn't respect Reyes stand up in the first 2 to 3 rounds which is why he kept turning his back to him and Reyes kept blitzing Jones and tagging & scoring on Jones as he was turning back and evading.

I hate that people are saying “Reyes got robbed” Clearly it was a close fight If it was completely one sided then jones won then it’s a robbery But the fact is both have 2 rounds each so it was pretty much decided on 1 round and the judges went with jones (except the judge who scored it 4 rounds to 1... that was stupid) So if a fight is that close It’s clearly not a robbery, either could of won it Jones just had some luck with the judges

4N4KIN SKYW4LK3R in my opinion it’s because he’s getting older and now needs a new style and adapt He used to be the young fighter chasing all the legends he beat them and becoming, the youngest champion in UFC history!! He had the youth and was a lot more aggressive in terms of going for the kill, Now he’s in his 30s 11 title defences 2x UFC Champion, and has an amazing resume! MMA is always evolving, and now more than ever at a rapid pace, fighters have new tricks and only a select few can just about hang with them! At the moment he’s fought Anthony Smith a fighter that has a ton of heart and won’t stop coming to win, and then he fought the big hitting monster of a human being Thiago Santos, and now he’s just fought DR and amazing fighter all levels above the people he used to fight! He needs to be more patient and because of his more evolved style he imo remains the GOAT

It's such bullshit that Jones would fight Stipe at Heavyweight after ducking DC at heavyweight.

People need to understand the opponent has to go and TAKE the title. Reyes took 1st two rounds. 3 is debatable, but rounds 4 and 5 were clearly jones. Reyes is not going to take that belt without showing more dominance in the latter rounds.

They are only called championship rounds because they are normally considered the toughest as they are the last 2 rounds. Nothing to do with scoring! If reyes won first 3 but lost the last 2 then reyes won. Simple...

Tho Reyes seem to have won definitely the first two rounds, its not 100% that the judges seen it that way, and clearly the 3rd was up for grabs.

Jones had rounds 2,4, and 5 and also had cage control, pressure, initiating take downs and got a couple despite reyes popping back up. not enough for reyes to take the strap

Jones did nothing in this fight though. His so called "takedowns" were all stuffed and rendered ineffective. He lost the standup match by at least 3-2. All Jones did was look imposing. I get that Jones is the champion, but the sensible thing would be to make it a draw and call for a rematch.

Jones doesnt look the same, but no one can expect him to be! Hes older and been through alot, no fighter stays the same! I think one step backwards for Jones he is still ahead of everyone else! The rematch I say Jones wins easier! Jones although not very close but close did win this fight!! The effort Reyes put in here shouldn't win a title or beat the champ! The judges give John a win because,,, 1. Dominic did not win clearly, meaning no knockout! 2.Bones until this fight was considered a legend and won a long list of thugs! 3. In 4,5 round jones stopped Reyes,and looking Strong and have power and not heart I say that i now pound of pound Reyes win!!!we hop to see a rematch very soon,

Jones needs to seriously step up his game. Like his boxing is non existent. His kick boxing is ridiculous and lacks basic fundamentals. Dude is getting closer and closer to defeat every time he fights.

Fought a very reserved fight. Watched Reyes wear himself out then picked shots in the the later part of the rounds. John sounds like he got some painful bruises.

Nope. Reyes was really good at defending.

He's goona watch that fight and MOST likely go oh i won all the way, uncle Dana can i please go to HW now, oh i need a few warm up fights give me some 5-10th ranked fighters... Steers clear of Stipe,Francios,Blades,DC, perhaps he can fight Black Yeast Derrick Lewis, hurry up though he is losing weight he may be able to out cardio u in a couple more months...

Lol Jones isn't fighting Francis like he did dommick. He's not turning his back to dommick like Jones did to Reyes in the first couple of rounds. Jones clearly didn't respect Reyes stand up which is why he kept turning his back lol.

Round 3 was NOT decisive like people in this thread seem to think. Go rewatch the fight. I gave round 1 to Reyes hands down, Round 2 was closer but I gave Reyes the edge a 10-9 round win, Round 3 was VERY close and could’ve been either fighters round, that was the deciding factor, I went with Jones 10-9, rounds 4 and 5 were all Jones thanks to pressure, more strikes, and takedowns. I’m not a Die hard Bones fan, I just love the sport and love watching a good fight. Reyes will be the future of this division.
