Always use a metal practice one, the weight helps you get used to it. Tbh your still gonna have to practice with a sharp one at some point. You will still bleed, all part of the process of learning. So don't be afraid of it.
@RenABFF0

Shouldn’t you at least start with a blunt (metal) one, with approximately the same weight distribution. Otherwise someone clumsy is going to get hurt, really bad, really fast
@ogiceboy5862
Жыл бұрын
@@RenABFF0 practicing using a live blade helps to build handle discipline. If you start practicing with a trainer and you think you’ve done the trick but you grabbed something at the wrong time or something similar, you could be “cutting” yourself without even knowing it. There are alternatives to building handle discipline like a trainer with a bite handle indicator, which will make you feel when you “cut yourself” but it’s not sharp obviously. But I would never recommend almost any plastic trainer to someone first getting into balisongs. It takes a lot of adjustment to metal ones.

Welcome to the community dude. I remember my first time doing rollovers when I was first starting out. I mainly kept studying the rollover the Spy does from Team Fortress 2. I hope to see more from you dude.
Great work I'm surprised because sometimes when I don't look at the handle I actually can get the trick done
As you get more confident with the Y2K it'll start to honestly do itself you just flick it around your thumb and it'll do the rest but now that you've got the Y2K down try the zen rollover. It's essentially the same trick, but with the safe handle so you'll have to do a wrist pass to redirect the blade side also get comfy with doing rollovers into other rollovers. Will Hirsch has a lovely tutorial on a zen rollover > index rollover that you can loop over and over and it's a ton of fun happy flipping
definitely had my fair share of cuts on my knuckles from learning these on a real one, but then i bought a metal practice one so the weight difference of the real knife and practice wasn't too different
I learned the zen rollover rather than the y2k rollover. It's similar and is basically what the Spy does in his Meet the Team video.

I prefer the roller too, it feel more chill and natural doing it horizontally over the thumb rather than vertically like the Y2K

Nice! I’ve been flipping for a few years and the only suggestions I have are if you need to use a plastic Bali, use any of the squiddys from squid industries. Their still plastic but weigh a tiny bit more and move a tiny bit smother and sometimes that makes all the difference. And using a metal Bali makes flipping way faster and easier.

I've been flipping for a couple years now, and it's super cool watching someone learn for the first time!
Are we not gonna talk about the bloody glasses at 0:42? This is prob the medic's glasses he killed and took the disguise of..
"MOST" Balisong tricks are "USUALLY" a lot easier than they look, Y2K, mermaids, zens and fans all look great and can all be easily be learned in like a day, and it's like riding a bike! You never forget it!
