Sis at 2:20 has way too much product (whatever it was) in her hair. The key to a successful silk press is hair with no product build up. Clarify the hair, use a dime sized a mount of heat protectant throughout the whole head, and blow dry, then straighten using the chase method. One pass to press, another to curl/style.

what a lot of people aren't noticing is just how much hair she has in the front, the tiktok at 6:30 it's super clear that the curls are tight, there's a lot of hair in the front!! the least successful ones the bangs are barely curled/practically straight. Everything has to be ringlet curls for this style to work

How do you get it like that? I tried a straightener and it doesn’t hold up unless I’m doing it wrong. With the blow dryer and a styling brush I have a hard time since I don’t have the end part of the dryer like the end pieces.

Uh... No not ringlet curls. You have to go and curl out wards like the first gurls. But to have the 70s blowout you need to have the layering and bangs, thats why the unsuccessful ones failed

The girl @2:37 definitely did it the right way for girls like us. Our hair is different from the girl’s in the first one so doing it exactly how she did wasn’t gonna give the same results. For example, the first girl could swing her head with more force than the one at 2:37 and it still kinda bounces back because of the kind of hair she has.

Black women wore this hairstyle to, even diana ross soooo I'm confused... Also reason why some of the black women hair wasnt doing it is because they had a bit of product buildup.
