I knitted a 1960's Mary Quant Pattern with the Modern EMU Yarn!
In this video I show you my process for knitting the Mary Quant Cable Sweater that was published in 1966.
The original pattern was a collaboration between Mary Quant and EMU Yarns. The yarn company still exist and I was able to substitute the original EMU DK yarn recommendation with their modern day equivalent that knits to the exact same tension!

@@skadiwolf1371 thank you for watching my video and taking the time to write a lovely comment 🤗 I’m pleased you like the top and the pattern book 😃
Yes please my nan passed a lot of really old patterns to me and I buy most of my yarn from the knitting network and they stock a lot of emu yarn so id love to see you knit swatches with newer yarns, especially as I find a lot of the newer acrylic yarns are thinner than the older yarns. Thank you for your channel. Its a breath of fresh air to find a yarn or knitting review from an english person on youtube, as most of them seem to be american knitters using yarn we're not able to get in the uk.

@@valrose242 thank you for taking the time to watch my video and for your kind comments 🤗 That’s so nice of your Nan to give you some old patterns 💕💕💕 Ironically I’m shortly going to be uploading a video where I visited a yarn shop in Jersey that only stocked yarns from the US 😂 this is a one off as I was away on holiday in Jersey and needed my yarn shop fix 🧶🧶🧶. Normally the yarns I tend to use are UK or European based yarn companies 👍
Cool pattern, looks lovely in red. Emu has such lovely colours and wish I could buy it, but i'm in NZ.

@@knittingagogo I found a good UK website to buy from. They have so much variety. I love that you are doing retro patterns. My mother always like English Vogue knitting patterns from the '60s. She really didnt like the American version in the '80s.
