For all you people under age 25, the reason why you all think of 2000s anime is because a lot of pop like rock songs (including j-rock) from the 2000s used that damn corny combination of synths/chiptune and electric guitars. Honestly... thats what made this era of music so special. It's sad no new music really does this. It gives off a vibrant and energetic asthetic that really suites a sunny summer day.

The song was created in 1996 part of the Pinkerton Deluxe Edition album. It's supposed to be in the scrapped rock opera album, Songs From The Black Hole. The album would be replaced with Pinkerton after the frontman got out of Harvard and the album would become among the biggest inspiration for the third wave of emo music. This scene would give birth to iconic bands such as Paramore, Fall Out Boys and My Chemical Romance.

I have no idea why a random ass Weezer b-side is popular all of a sudden but I’m not complaining it absolutely slaps, one of the best off Pinkerton imo

So I met a person named Tomy or sometimes they call him Tony, he was a student who moved from another place. He was such a mysterious guy and he never talks but he can play piano, so I become one of his friends. I always took this as being in love with the version of them you created in your head. she’s obsessively thinking about him (he is in my eyes segment) and then mentioned “I breathe love, and see him every though my love is a world away!” I feel like this part is her daydreaming about him daily, but her idealized version of him is in a different world. She realizes this in the song which is why it’s titled “I just threw out the love of my dreams” However she stills thinks about him hence “my righteousness is crumbling.” And this is why the segment “he is in my eyes” has the present tense and is repeated until the end of the song. She stills fantasizes about him but separated the two versions of him and will never make a move. I might be projecting 💀
