    Hi Black Tie Barn, I am Ms.Erica, with Ms.Erica's Fragrance Candles & Chips. I would like to say very Nice Channel. You have become one of my Favorites. With this conversation, I wanted to say please, Be sure to keep us posted on the new Machine. It looks real Nice and I can see why you went that way. However, when you mentioned about maybe making changes to the recipe..I have to be honest that TOUCHED me. The one thing about Ms.Erica's Fragrance Candles & Chips is The Award Winning Recipe. I am sure with a machine that nice you will still arrive at one that is Nice to you. Sometimes we can get so lost in to making things faster and it sometimes touches what really has us in our position in the first place. I am working on packaging myself my recipe I have arrived. Keep us posted I am sure it will Turn out Amazing.

    3 weeks ago I had 2 candles I had puchased that had enough wax left in both to make one candle. I decided to figure out how to melt candle wax to make the one candle. I am now watching every one of your videos and have just placed my first order for tester wicks and 1 oz sample kit now looking for tester jars. So that's where I am in this journey, and after seeing this video realizing that if you follow a few rules and learn the craft you could potentially be in need of that machine sooner than later. I'm hooked!

    Wow, that machine is amazing! I started making candles in March and have been using a very small presto pot. I've only sold them at craft shows and make a lot of testers and very small batches. Right now I make about 12-20 Candles a month. I am enjoying the experience. I have been doing this for about 8 months now. I haven't sold one candle yet. LOL. Actually I haven't attempted to sell candles. I have been just giving them away to various people, my cleaning lady, my neighbors, family, friends. They only think I have been asking in return is feedback. I am getting close to the point where I am getting comfortable producing repeatable outcomes. So it won't be long before I can make my first buck. BTY. This is just fun for me. Not looking at this time for huge returns. Just might be a little retirement thing for me in the future. I want to thank you for your videos. You are encouraging all the way. There were times I would be frustrated but watching your videos seems to keep me on track. You are right. Wow. This is super cool! How does it mitigate the difference in mixing temp vs pouring temp? If it mixes in the jar, is it not being poured too hot? Any concerns about the mixing process not being as long? Are there waxes this may not be a good fit for? I have so many questions about the actual mechanics of this machine and process! LOL fellow geek about this kind of stuff. I'm always the but how does it work person. Down the rabbit hole I go! Seriously big congrats to you. This was a hard earned investment for your business and I hope to make it there myself someday. I'm making around 20 candles a month because I'm in the late testing phase for my business I hope to launch in September so I'm going to ramping up big time this week. This machine is definitely a goal I'm writing down for the future. Thank you for all you do and share. You have surely changed many lives by making information that was once gate kept by the experienced, so folks like us can start up for a bit less financial investment. I'm referring to all the testing we get to skip to learn the very basics because folks like you have been down that road and shared what did and didn't work, allowing us to make better educated guesses from the start. I'm grateful for you and the other chandlers like yourself on YT. I would be where I am right now without your channel and by proxy, YOU! So Thank YOU.

    Hey Heather. I actually just answered this same question so will paste the same answer below. Its a good question (i was curious about this as well years ago) and the short answer is.... you really don't need to with a machine like this. Temp is WAY less important with machines like this in terms of when to add FO. Because it mixes so much efficiently grams at a time so it mixes well at any temp. So with equipment like this. The key is basically setting your tank temp to your pour temp. In the batches I made in the video, I set to 140. But will depend on your specific wax. And of course testing with your wax

    Congrats, Love watching you grow.. I did have a question maybe you can do a video someday. On this, you mix your F/O and Color in a bottle, awesome. Can people do this on a small scale, I mean mix F/O and color and store them; if so how long could you store the mix for. If this is possible it opens up more ease of streamlining small batches. Love the info thanks.

    Thanks Tim. Not so much a myth more of major exaggeration. But that when hand mixing it does take longer and more heat. You just don't need to worry about it with this kind of pumper.

    Love this! Thank you for sharing, I’ve been obsessing over this idea for sometime and waiting for someone like you to get one, then share your review with us. THANK YOU (I’m no where near ready for this, but I like to predict and plan for my future). Aside from the obvious cost being prohibitive to a business not ready for this large expense, it’s the wicking part that would slow me down. It doesn’t matter how quick this process is to pour when it takes me hours to wick each vessel. Pouring 1000 candles in a day means wicking 1000 candles in a month haha. Did you see any automated wick placement machines at this convention? I’m seriously considering hiring someone just to pre-wick my vessels. I don’t know when it happened but this part is my absolute least favorite part of my job. Thanks again.

  • @BlackTieBarn

    @BlackTieBarn

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks Traci. Your are 100% right, it doesn't help with the wicking part. But that's gotta be done regardless. Still save all the time mixing and pouring. I just wick while more wax is melting. So not losing any time. ;) Ideally these machines really some of when you have additional help prepping jars too. Because then your ability to keep making more and more just keeps increasing.

    Awesome tool! You have inspired me to start a small candle company with my autistic daughter. I have two questions. With liquid color dye, if a single 10oz candle uses 3 drops of blue and 1 drop of black, do you just multiply that for 5 x 10oz candles (15 blue/ 5 black), or does that scale in a different way? So concerning that tool, how does it handle temp? If you mix scent at 180 degree and pour at 140 degree, does this machine just do it at a single temp? If so, do you blend high or low? I ask as I use Soy and if I pour before 140 degree I have issues. And ya, I am still at the pouring 4 to 6 at a time... about to make our first real batch of 120 candles for our first pop-up. Wish us luck!
