Parry was obvious to counter because it had an animation, the moment you see it go off you throw right after ez hit stun

I would love if UFC 5 implemented the same rag doll physics and the follow up shots on the ground to finish the fight. UFC 4 is a smoother experience, but UFC 2 was just a ton of fun.

I’d like for it to be atleast a LITTLE bit realistic. The whole not being able to throw directly out of a block is a great example. That is such a basic aspect of fighting and they completely missed it. It’s so clunky having to release the block and then throw and then block again. And then release and then throw and then block again. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to throw a jab with your other hand staying at guard. It makes it unbearable fighting ai for example because they literally know every time you are gonna try and hit them because you gotta stop blocking before that. They can time every strike with your releasing of the block and it makes it no fun to fight them. Just getting rid of that one advantage makes a MASSIVE difference in the overall feel of the game. I cannot even enjoy the game because I’m constantly questioning who tf made the game and why the fighters promoting it actually promote something so bad. The game just needs to be stopped being made so they can start from scratch and figure out the basic physics and controls before another company comes along and does it right. It happened with ea and the skate series. The only reason they haven’t made skate 4 is because they are trying over and over to create enough hype to logically release it and think they can profit. No real skaters wanna support it because there are now multiple WAY better games made by skaters. And anyone who atleast knows skating a bit knows skate is not even close to the same level as the others. The literal only people who play it are ones who just want some fun but don’t know much about skating. Which is completely fine but it kills the game. I can see this happening with the ufc series if they don’t soon fix it.

I would love for EA to make a real boxing game with the sweet science in mind and not focus trash bag micro transactions ruining the gameplay

This game is still my favorite ufc game. So janky and Thai clinch sucked but those knockout animations were great and punches felt way more realistic

I'm glad I'm seeing comments that agree. You simply cannot beat this game's K.O's whoever sits there arguing it, never played UFC 2 during its peak. Ultimate team with your caf, yourself with game face knocking people out cold and it actually felt like you rocked their shit.. nothing beats it. You go and look at UFC 4 the punches look fake when they land, the head snaps a direction from animation not due to getting hit, like this game the head will literally look as if their neck snaps sometimes it's that brutal.

Yeah EA really STB with UFC 4… guys fighting with like Pokémon/Street Fighter characters makes me wanna cry… turning a sim game into a total POS. I returned UFC 4 on day one three hours after I bought it. It’s like they tried to make the game worse. Stupid animations, no clinch block… UFC 4 was just terrible. UFC 2 was based off a boxing engine for a new Fight Night EA was working on

​​​@@greg6162To me, what was so mind blowing about EA UFC 4 is that they took longer than usual to develop the game, so we were all expecting some huge changes and improvements in the gameplay, and then it comes out and they added all this weird fictional shit that absolutely nobody asked for.......werewolf and mummy costumes, the backyard and kumite arenas, fuckin EMOTES??? I mean is this a UFC game or Fortnite?? I frequent various EA UFC message boards and FB groups and I don't recall a single soul asking for any of this stuff. And honestly I don't care that they added a bunch of casual friendly content, I get that they're trying to market this game to more than just hardcore MMA fans...........BUT, they completely ignored all the improvements the community did ask for, thats whats so frustrating! I don't remember anybody asking for monster costumes but I do recall people asking for a Pride mode, improving the fighter damage system, doctor stoppages, bringing back ragdoll KOs, making career mode much deeper, overhauling the grappling and ground game, more options for CAF's and the ability to share them, adding a sim/realism mode, online fight cards, etc. They literally addressed NONE of this, and added a bunch of shit nobody wanted or asked for, that's why I was never a fan of UFC 4

Something about the boxing in this game feels more physics driven. I don't really know how to explain it, but it doesn't feel as good to throw hands in UFC 3 or 4.

I know exactly what you’re saying bro and It’s because the jab in UFC 2 actually works like a jab. In 3 and 4 the straight works like the jab should work but you can’t really combo out of a straight and it isn’t as quick because it’s coming from the rear hand.

Cause hands are fast, they slap, animations are clean. When you land a shot the screen is shaking, your hit make his head fly, you can hear a loud snap - all these visual and nonvisual cues paired with seamless animations do the magic. In UFC 4 pretty much everybody except feathers and below have sluggish hands, animations are clipping and overall have a questionable quality. When you land you don't feel that, opponents head is shaking like a pair of fucking balls almost as if you slapped the bitch and bitch got F in acting classes

I love the TKO animations in this game. The option to get extra shots in or walk off is nice instead of the clunky animations in ufc 4

UFC 2 is so fun and underrated. Controls felt simple, fresh strikes and knockouts, funny ragdoll moments.

I love hearing Mike Goldberg as the commentary. Rogan & Goldberg was the best commentary duo IMO. Man seeing that Lawler vs Macdonald match reminded me of their actual fight and lawyer's massive lip gash. That fight was a bloodbath!!

UFC2 The best part of the series! Guys, would you like the servers to work again?

The striking in UFC 2 just looks so much better. It went more floaty with 3 then more cartoonish and floaty with 4. You expect to see progress with newer games not regression

I can agree with ufc 2 being more fun but there’s no way you think the striking looks better 😂. Ufc 2 striking was very unrealistic, it was like playing tekken. Ufc 4 definitely has its flaws but the striking is the most realistic of any ufc game.

@@actionjackson8573 dude ufc 4s striking is embarrassing compared to ufc 2 atleast in ufc 2 there was weight behind the punches and kicks in ufc 4 clinch spamming is worse, elbow knee spams are worse and counter striking/defensive styles have been nerfed to oblivion since dudes can throw their whole kitchen at you and still have half a bar of stamina by the 3rd as they're nate diaz

This was the most fun I had with a EA ufc game..the parry system was so fun and I liked how they don’t reset your rank record like they do now with every new season

4:38 wow this UFC game actually has those Lawler/Mcgregor uppercuts. You don't have to be touching heads to make it land.

Very fond memories of this ufc. I remember winning 20 something matches before finally losing my first one in ranked. Great times, wish I could say the same about 4. 4 was just very disappointing. Subbed to martial during the ufc 2 days, remember watching some ufc 1 stuff of his as well, great times.

Boy was this video a treat. I hated the parry in this game but got used to it and learned how to deal with it. This game to me is like the Mortal Kombat x of the Mortal Kombat franchise. It's just the most fun out of the franchise the combos you could do and knock your opponent dead plus the elbows miss being able to throw elbows on the ground we def need more ufc2 vids

Believe it or not this was actually my last UFC game I owned. I only briefly played UFC 3 and I believe it was just the demo. I absolutely loved UFC 2 though and the gameplay always looked and played better than UFC 3 in my opinion. I won’t speak to much on anything after because I haven’t played it but UFC 2 had every fighter play unique to their style in my opinion, everyone felt different to play with. My favorite fighter to use was Jon Jones I even played an entire career with Jones. Also if you’re wondering why I haven’t played since then I’m not really sure why, I just didn’t end up getting the newer games and also I sold my PS4 a few years back and have had a Switch ever since. We don’t have UFC on the Switch unfortunately.

Just played ufc2 w/ Khabib the ground and pound is sooo gratifying. You’re able to to use all the different ground strikes when u want. It’s too bad they couldn’t somehow combine this game with the movement and striking of ufc4. I like the clinch better it’s more definitive as to what to do.

ufc 2 used to bring so much joy when I played it, my bro and I still play it consistently. From the animations, grappling, the best ufc game imo no doubt.

To this day, I still play ufc 2 more than ufc 4 . Ufc 4 animations aren't doing it for me plus the controls are too complicated it's like playing an arcade game.

This was the best game ever, a combo of this games mechanics with ufc 3 movement would be the best game ever

Undisputed 2010 will always be my bread and butter. Martial, if u can, play that game, plz!
