‘I just can’t believe it’ Rebecca Strong overwhelmed with joy after winning Canada’s Got Talent

Rebecca Strong, a local singer from Prince Albert, was named the winner of Canada's Got Talent 2024, a prestigious competition that has attracted millions of Canadians. Strong, who is the first winner from Saskatchewan in the show's history, won the competition ahead of Nanaimo dance duo Funkanometry and singer Eshan Sobti from Mission, B.C. She also won the largest cash prize in Canadian television history, $1 million, and $25,000 from CIBC for receiving the Golden Buzzer from Judge Lily Singh. After her final performance, all four judges gave Strong a standing ovation, with Singh and fellow judge Kardinal Offishal declaring her to have done enough to win. Strong chose Adele's iconic song, Rollin' in the Deep, as her final song, inspired by her powerful voice. Her family members, who have journeyed with her since her first audition, were in attendance for the finale. Strong hopes her success will inspire other Indigenous singers to pursue their dreams.
