Initial investment is very high and waiting period is of 3 years if government provide any subsidy it is a very good crop .

It is a gold mine, It also grows in wild In.N.America, i don't think gentleman knows the life span of the plant. why all our Ag. Universities are not working on it. Usually cuttings are used for planting, its does not grow much tall , Simple plastic tunnels should give longer harvest season.

Thanks for introducing new crop in Maharashtra. Blueberry crop is actually junglee crop and mostly grown in Canada because of cool climate. But blueberry crop can be grown in all parts of western Maharashtra. Good to know about farmer because he can be a good source for purchase of plantation material.

Great info! One risk factor not mentioned is that the berries can easily get spoiled, bruised, crushed, have mold, etc. after picking. They do not stay fresh for more than a week after picking, so have to be consumed soon after picking. They need to be transported with care (extra cost of good packaging). Another way to make profit is to make blueberry jam.

Blueberries are growing in wide range of climate viz: temperate, sub-temperate, sub-tropicalor high chill, medium chill, low chill varieties. Most of them are imported from Mexico. There are many companies totally doing breeding, research and commercial cultivation. Very very congratulations to Karvat sir for successfullly developing cultivation practices and introducing it to common farmers with intention of increasing their income as did in Strawberry crop.

Very nice video with a nice person. Thses are the people who always have scientific mind and giving service to the country. He has travelled maximum countries to cultivate blue berries in India. Unimaginable. Hats off to him.

I tasted blueberries during my USA visit. I loved them, used to buy big boxes from Costco and binge on the. On return I searched for them in India, but found them in only high end shops at insane price like Rs. 700 for 100 to 200 grams. Nice to know it is being cultivated here.
