Very clear annunciation, no distracting background music - this helped along with your clear step by step replacement process.
in 1993 I was 30 and I changed the motor-compressor to r-12 in 45 minutes ... and my knees did not hurt)))
Satisfação por ter instalado um compressor fabricado no Brasil
You are a perfect candidate for the carbon felt pad used to protect from welding and I'm sure brazing. You'll still need the regular wet cloth to cool. I was amazed it was able to protect whatever I put under it when Arc Welding.
Last week my fridge totally gave up. I figured it would be the relais and compressor like in your vid. But since i didn't have all the equipment and knowledge you have, i figured to buy another fridge and let them take away the old one. In contrast to the fridge in your video, mine was pristine from the inside, no filth or stains or anything. I actually hope they refurbish my old one at the depot, since there is already enough waste. Also i am glad there still exist simple fridges that don't have bluetooth or other of those electronics inside. (Unfort. not with washing machines. I can't find a single washing machine anymore with a mechanical clockwork cylinder inside. All bleep bleep electronics now). Keep up the good job!

I'm amazed it's cost effective to replace the compressor and re gas with hours of labour on a very old freezer. I note the old gas was let into the atmosphere. That's not allowed in many countries.

I had several old fridges that had rusted compressor pipes and all the R12 had gone years ago. The compressors still started and ran okay. I replaced the rusted bits with brazed copper pipe. I the pressurised the system with fuel grade LPG (propane butane mix). I then let all the gas out again and did this several times. As I refilled I watched the compressor current which did not get up to the rated current on the compressor label. Ice started to form on the suction side so I bled gas off until it stopped and then a bit more. After the fridge had come down to temperature, a little ice was forming again so I bled off a bit more. Two of those fridges are still okay ten years later,.No vacuum pump, no gauges, no oil change, no capillary change, no problems, lower power use, shorter running cycle just LPG highlighted on the label. Not illegal to bleed LPG to atmosphere. Most domestic gear chucked out can be home repaired.

If you are measuring the temperature, then go closer to the object. Many sensors have a 30° opening, this means that the sensor-area is around 30cm if you have a distance of 30cm. The laser there is only good to see were is the center-point of this circle. Some sensors have a focal point of 1:12 (2.5cm point at 30cm distance) or some very good with 1:60. Many people are doing it wrong, because they think that the laser itself is the measurement-device. And the surface what you want to measure should be black. If I measure a aluminium surface of a heat-sink, then I paint the surface black with a permanent marker before the measuring. If the black area is only 1cm in diameter, then I use only a distance of 1cm.

@@forevertechenglish IR thermometers are pretty neat. The one I have uses 2 or more thermocouples to measure the temperature-one exposed to light from the outside and the other not. The temperature difference indicates how much IR light is hitting the sensor. Lenses focus the light, so there's a focal distance where the measurement area is smallest, and getting closer or farther away makes it bigger (think of a magnifying glass focusing sunlight). The manufacturer generally tells you how large the measurement area is for each device. You're measuring the 4th power mean temperature of the measurement area, so if you measure something half hot and half cold the thermometer will show a reading closer to the hotter temperature. The IR emissivity of many materials is >0.9, but certain metals are a common exception. This pretty much means that those metals with low emissivity emit a small percentage of the IR radiation an ideal black body with emissivity 1 would. Such materials often reflect IR, so you're likely to measure the temperature of the reflection and the IR mirror you think you're measuring.

Either you are a liar or a thief! You can just like that change a "System" from one refrigerant to an other. There are factors that you Must keep in mind. There is a big difference in pressure between R-134a and R-600. Stop fooling people. No any time you have Not shown the pressure. Don't give me no "Damn" temperature, give me pressure. Why have those who invented the refrigeration system used 2 guages? ? ?
Use a pressure regulator for the N2. In Romania these are delivered with 200 Bars. I would really not feed the circuit with this pressure. Regulating pressure by tapping on the valve is just insane. You are only regulating the flow, if the system is not open you can build up that pressure in the circuit....
Great video! Very helpful and a good explanation of the process. I understand English is not your first language, so some future help for your English translations 🙂: It is not "smoke" coming out of the vacuum pump, it is moisture/steam. Smoke in English is just associated with something burning. The "Pinching Pin" would be better called the "Piercing Pin". It is penetrating a hole or piercing in English. Pinching is just to squeeze something together. Keep up the great work! You have a new subscriber!

This retrofit would never fly in the US. The EPA requires the R134A to be recovered ($10,000 fine for venting) the maximum R600 charge allowed by the EPA in any household appliance is 2.4 oz (68 grams), a retrofit of this type would void the UL (Underwriter's Laboratories) certification creating a serious liability risk to both the company and the technician performing the repair. When I was R600 factory trained and certified by Whirlpool, we were only allowed to use newly developed special crimp connections made specifically for R600, never solder connections. The only R600 units I worked on that were solder connections were manufactured by Liebherr.

@waltahlgrim5508

The only reason we allow R600 in the US is because the amount of flammable product is so small there is no chance for a leaded product could make a burnable mix due to the minute quantity of product. Measure other similar refrigerators. Some refrigerators heat up the windings in this way for about 1 minute, while the motor stops, if the refrigerator was not connected to the mains for some time, and this may not be a fault but a normal operating mode. Other factors decide whether it is also a mistake. Then the power factor of the inverter converter is practically 1, it cannot be 0.6, since the inverter consumption is exclusively active. This is then either wrongly measured, or it is a different misunderstanding in terms.

@@forevertechenglish your confusing of flow and pressure is dangerous.
hi, is it same size of the capillary tube for refrigerant R134a or the different size of R600a ?

Kompressor 220v...tapi pakai R600@
How are you and how's the family, sir? I have a question sir, I want to change a compressor which is an R12 to R134a of the same compressor size of 1/5HP. The former technician that install the former compressor added a 1/10 condenser hereby he disconnected the inner condenser from the outside one. I am thinking sir, since R134a has a higher condensing power than an R12 would you advice if I remove the 1/10 condenser and replace it with a 1/8 or 1/6 condenser sir. It's a one-door freezer-fridge. Or I should use the condenser and add a cooler fan? Thank you sir, as I await your response.

Sorry Saw your comment today was busy. In your case, the former technician added a 1/10 condenser to compensate for the change in refrigerant. However, simply changing the condenser size may not be sufficient to ensure optimal performance. It's recommended to consult the manufacturer's guidelines or technical specifications for your specific freezer-fridge model to determine the appropriate condenser size for R134a.Removing the 1/10 condenser and replacing it with a larger condenser such as a 1/8 or 1/6 could potentially help improve the system's efficiency. However, it's crucial to ensure that the new condenser is compatible with your system and that it can be properly installed without causing any issues with airflow or space constraints.adding a cooling fan to the condenser can help improve the heat dissipation process and enhance the system's overall performance. A fan can increase the airflow across the condenser, assisting in heat transfer and maintaining lower condensing temperatures. This can be particularly beneficial when using R134a, as it operates at higher pressures and temperatures compared to R12.

See the technical specification sticker on your refrigerator.
Ela fica mais economica em ralação a gasto de energia?

Yep, because it consumes less energy then a conventional compressor, and is variable
I literally do the opposite here in the United States and replace r600a with 134a. I'm thinking about using r401a (yes 401 not 410) It was made as a replacement for r12 . R12 is about 30% more efficient than r134a so that should lower head pressure.
Excellent work. Where did you get the compressor and inverter to drive the compressor?

I got it from a local compressor vendor
Why must you crimp end? Can you leave service valve on?
Did you charge the refrigerant in liquid or gas?

@@forevertechenglish I was one of your video, where you said R600a should be charged in liquid why is that?
How did you decide on the amount in the refrigerator when changing gas? is it random? Or by calculation? and thanks for video 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I charged the amount of gas gradually and left the refrigerator work, at which point the refrigerator started to cool at its max potential, that's the point I left it, I also checked the manifold readings. As r600a is a low pressure gas.
Sir compressor take 30 amp only humming and trip 1.5 ton window ac new capacitor voltage OK what's the reason sir 🙏
