I increased my Macbook's battery from 4 to 12 hours! Here's how

Macbook Pro comes with a dedicated graphic card which consumes a lot of battery power, it is best to not use it on battery (to extend battery life) and use it when connected to power. Command to run in the terminal:
sudo pmset -c gpuswitch 2 && sudo pmset -b gpuswitch 0

    You can also disable turbo boost and decrease the disk usage, it will last 2-3 hours more and work completely fine. You need Turbo Boost switcher and there is a free version that is enough. Also you can disable auto updates and with all that you will have an incredible battery life. My macbook pro 13 2014 should only last like 4 hours in best scenario, now its 8.

    @@minhly650 hello I completely forgot about the comment, now I own a 2018 MacBook Pro 15 and still use these methods. For disabling the turbo boost you need the app „turbo boost Switcher pro“ it’s cost some but it’s easy to find a cracked version. But now I don’t remember how to reduce the disk usage but it thing it’s in the normal settings. You can also watch out for open apps, if you have 3 apps open or less the battery is going to last long enough.

    To perform operations like that, sudo is needed, and hence the password. However, you can configure your macOS to use your Touch ID instead of password in the terminal. About the graphic card, it should be immediate. Make sure you're not already on charger and follow the commands correctly.
