I think metal might be one of the easiest genres for AI to nail just because how incredibly narrow and formulaic all the subgenres are. Like i mean no hate but sometimes I feel like whenever someone does anything slightly original in metal it suddenly becomes it's own subgenre lol

QT once again proving she’s the peak talent of the fear& pod

This competition was about using AI in a goofy and unserious way to write/create flawed music but in the end, the best song to come out of it was written with no AI lyrical assistance which ultimately just sorta proves the limitations of it when compared to a creative human (QT) in a full-circle way. Also AI can be used negatively, but I appreciate Will for thinking through how to do this with the inclusion of real musical talent as well ❤️

Yeah, as of now I think the real bottleneck for AI music is that the lyrics are just wank most of the time. They're always extremely basic. I think it would be a good tool for a songwriter who can't actually play instruments or something, but until GPT 5 or whatever comes out that can make better lyrics it'll never be of human quality. As usual AI tools are best used to compliment a skilled human operator, they aren't on the level of being fully autonomous yet.

I get you're going for human positivity and that's cool. Though, it's worth noting AI also empowered us to create a lot of listenable or bopin songs over the course of a single gameshow stream. Humans can always take what AI makes as merely inspiration or tweek it and it's also an extremely powerful technology. People like to say AI isn't creative like a human, and for the sake of say a diss track, I think this ai isn't on the same level. On the other hand, humans aren't as creative as people give us credit for - most people are doing at least as much copying or borrowing of ideas as AI does. In fact, humans train on source material, but with GAN based AI, the AI generating content has never even seen other people's work directly.

I think this has been the ideal usage of creative AI for a while now. Human creativity driving AI, which then creates a launching off point for human talent (when it gets made into a real track). QT decorating an AI-designed cake is another brilliant implementation of that dynamic. To be fair, I can see where a whole end to end song could definitely make people nervous because that is itself an acceptable final product, and one that is hard to tinker with outside of the black box. But as a demo machine that artists can draw inspiration from, I think such tools are in their element. (or as audio meme generators, where no one would be commissioning an artist for a joke track)

no one does it like will. man deserves a hundred times the viewers. the turnaround on this event alone was insane, from conception to execution i think it was like a few days.

man i will say i was concerned when i saw this in my recommended, but i'm glad i gave it a chance. will really took all the precautions to make sure to actually help real music artists, while being able to have a unique and fun time with friends who may not be familiar with making their own music. also when hasan spoke up with the "what if i'm still mad" was absolutely perfect and made me laugh. i mean it was probably the best thing to say in the intro lmfao also QT WINS HANDS DOWN QT SUPREMACY

I would place them Cyr 1st, QT 2nd, Hasan 3rd. QT followed the round prompts and had the diss track down, she clawed her way to a chaotic silver. Hasan's songs were decent, but got worse as it went on, they had a theme but he was stretching the rules of the game so I think he's a clear third placer. Cyr's songs were consistently solid and on point. Best song though was Forever United, Yugoslavia Yacht Rock Anthem 100%. Wake going in a 50s/60s RnB/Soul direction was risky and it just didn't pay off. Will you better host more of these!
