I hope THIS happens at Singapore's next election

It's been 35 years since a Malay MP has won an election on their own. I explain why it'll be good for it to happen again at Singapore's next election!

Sekali lagi terima kasih, Saudara.

PAP has NOT fielded a Malay in a SMC for over 35 years or even allow a Malay contest in President election without the race criteria such as in 2017. Plus for nearly 60+ years we only have 1 Malay Minister in the PAP cabinet (since 1959) now recently we have 2 but 1 is minister with no portfolio (aka min in prime minister office) and its mostly for the lesser prominent portfolio e.g ministry of environment despite being the largest minority in SG while Indians can have up to 5 at one time (holding prominent posts) recently (before S Iswaran was investigated for corruption case). But remember in 1956 to 1959 Singapore had a Deputy PM equivalent who is a Malay (Mr Abdul Hamid) under the Lim Yew Hock coalition government but after PAP took over there was hardly any Malay FULL minister holding a higher appointment like DPM,MOF, MINDEF etc till now. its been nearly 60+ years. as long not given a chance, its very hard to progress or break the glass ceiling for the minority group. its the same for women, if there are NOT given a chance how can females prove they are capable?

Unless Obscenely Paid & Obedient MPs Grow a Spine to Raise these “ Phenomena “ in Parliament, pls accept SG Muslims will be Disproportionately under represented & continue to remain as 2nd Class Citizens waiting for PAP Ceremonial & Symbolic Handouts …

I believe Currently The Most Influential & Favoured Race in Singapore is SIKH … Largely bcz in 2010 , SG’s “Sikh Temple Brigade” NOT ONLY caught LKY Red Handed & Paraded him like a Common Street Criminal at Sikh Police Temple in SG But also Aided & Abetted LKY to Cover Up his Criminal Wrongdoing in Exchange for Benefits, Concessions, Recognition etc … Truly Admirable SG Sikh Leadership 👏👏👏…. The Ram Singh Family 😊

Many Malays are elected in GRCs. That is the stated purpose of the GRC system (to ensure minority representation). The video just says that it would be good to see Malays contesting and winning in SMCs as well.

The real objective of GRC is to consolidate power in PAP CEC. In SMC, save dismissal due to imprisonment or serious criminal sentence, PAP can sack their own PAP MP who can join opposition and return to challenge the PAP in following by-election under opposition banners. But under GRC, by-election have almost become extinct or impossible. So PAP wants to govern with iron fist and ignore minority/ fringe groups concerns and bulldoze policies roughshod. This system immediately gives stupendous politcal control to the PAP CEC, but also hides very serious flaws which increases the risk of catastrophic failure of social stability in the long run.

You have to elect good competent person to parliament not minorities because of race and religious ground. If you speak English like this You wouldn’t get elected.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I didn't say that people should be elected to Parliament just because of their race and religious ground. If I said that, I was wrong. Rather, I said I hope to see a Malay winning an SMC in an upcoming election.
