@@cameroncothern3218 Definitely. I get the hype everyone had, but it was just so disrespectful, imo. Sure, he did a great job in that movie, but he wasn't allowed to talk about it, which should be obvious to anyone in show business. And he's also there to promote the movie that he IS allowed to talk about and did an absolutely fantastic job in.

Just wanted to say I really liked the way Colbert handled Garfield's answer on his grief. Looked him in the eyes, thanked him for sharing, held his hand with both his own. And that's enough, because the pain they feel is their own, and you are not there to say you know it, because you don't. You only have to show that you are listening, that you are there for them. Brilliant.

The conversations end, but your father is woven into the fibres of your being, so you can't lose him. Even when his influence on you ripples out to others around you. And then in turn, to those people who pass on some of his essence to effect more people, and so on... The emptiness of loss of the relationship is the contrasting shadow that highlights all those bright moments that you have gained in your years of knowing him. And those memories, his love for you, are yours to keep; the smile through your tears for those personal precious moments. Even as the powerful waves of grief lessen, you can smile that secret smile of knowing, with gratitude for such a man, such a father, as part of your life, and part of who you are.

He had me crying because I think I my beautiful mother who has read the Bible twice in her life. When she started getting to the point she knew she wouldn't be here to many years ahead was when she read the Bible a second time. She knew every word and meaning in the Bible with a 6th grade education and I can hardly pronounce many of words and the understanding with a full course education. My grandfather taught himself how to read and studied the Bible and taught this to his kids. He never went to school and was a brilliant person in reading and writing. He read many different books on religion and listened to tapes of a well known person who studied the Bible. I wish my grandfather were here to speak to people about what he learned because we would all believe in God and know he really exist. I believe Andrew is a Christian and by this his pain from losing his mother gives him hope that he will see her again in God's time to call us home.

I couldn’t have told you a single thing about him, other than that I was pretty sure he was an actor in whom I had little-to-no interest. After watching this interview, I can assure you I’ll never forget him. I will watch everything he’s in. What a human being. Sometimes-rarely-television has the power to transcend its medium and truly touch you; this was one of those times.

I lost a beloved pet of almost 16 years, and I fight daily to remember the good times and not cry. It's not the passing that is bad, but it's the missing her daily that is what hurts. I've done my best to move forward, but it's hard -- especially at the first. So, go easy on yourself. It's really a "tough road" if you were close, as I was with my Dad. He wasn't the best man that ever lived, but he did the best that he could with what he had. So, you are not alone. One of best things that helped me was going to some grief therapy get-togethers and doing some individual counseling. It sounds weird, but it really, really helped me process it. So, I hope you are moving forward and not being consumed by grief, as I was at the first. So, if you want to chat about it, I'll reply. Know people care about your loss, even if they don't say it ... I’m 23 and recently lost my mom this 4th of a July 2022. She had a long battle with cancer, to being remission, developing kidney failure, to receiving and transplant, and then developing cancer again for the 3rd time. I know that she’s in a better place away that’s sufferage free, but I just can’t help but miss the fact that I’ll never see her again 😢

That part of Andrew talking so eloquently about his love for his mother really got me...

I wish I could get the entirety of the “grief” monologue tattooed on me or just framed somewhere in my apartment forever. Been grieving my mom for more than a month now, and it’s only getting more painful with each day, but Andrew’s words have touched my soul and even somehow made me feel better in some weird sense.

I didn't know he lost his mother. What a wonderful expression he's found in saying that grief is the unexpressed love that stays behind.

Ended up shedding a few tears at this. Obviously this is still very raw for Andrew but he has such an articulate way of describing his grief. I'm sure his mother was very proud of him, and I really hope he gets all the recognition he deserves for this film.

"grief is the unexpressed love you never got to share with them" is one of the most powerful things I've ever heard anyone say.

It's all the unexpressed love.. Never heard it that way. That's a great perspective
