I HITCHHIKED Vietnamese Boat to hunts SNAILS!

It's crazy where my travels may take me. I hitchhiked a fishing boat without knowing where are they going or what are they catching. Just to explore Phú Quốc Island a bit more and see it in other way than most of the tourists. It turned out that this day that I spent with local fishermen, was a day I will never forget.
When travelling around Vietnam, you can notice that Vietnam is home to a wide range of sea food dishes. We, tourists, want to try as many as possible. And in order to try these specialities, they need to be caught first. And it's no easy task to do! Shellfish and oysters are living deep down at the bottom of the sea, in depths of 10-15 meters.
Every day hundreds of men set off on their boat, to dive without oxygen tanks to these depths to make their living. Now they have a tourist with camera on board, documenting their daily job.

It's not easy to find an experience like this without it being too touristy. Sometimes it's hard for us, consumers, to imagine how food we are eating is being caught/harvested. I'm glad that I was able to document this part of local Vietnamese culture and share the knowledge here with you. Thanks for your kind words and I can't wait to show you more of my adventures in this vast world!
