I have wanted to fish here for years...

Спорт

Getting to go up to Pennsylvania to fish the famous Susquehanna River in a national kayak tournament was such an amazing experience. I had heard of this river for a long time and how it is one of the best smallmouth fishing rivers in the world. When i got the opportunity to come up and see it for myself, plus fish a competitive tournament, I jumped at the chance and came to see it for myself.

After losing a big bass on a broken spinner bait I started using a snell knot on the arm that goes to the hook. Better chance of the knot holding on a break.

Wow, the Susquehanna River is such a wonderful place to fish, especially to hold a tournament in. The average size of those smallies just blows my mind and just adds to my conclusion that the Susquehanna River is just a wonderful river all the way around, no matter how you look at it, as far as fishing tournaments go. That river cuts through the mountains just a winding through and I thought it appeared to have a lot of hilly peeks just a few feet under the water's surface, and a ton of rocks, ledges and underlining cliffs, the kind of ingredients that make the perfect habitat for the smallies to hangout and swim around and ambush prey. ThankQ Jon for taking us along with you bubba. I really enjoyed it my brother. ❤😊

solid fish but side scan will help you find bait and concentrations of hawgs which is what you need in these tourneys - a fish painter would probably be a writeoff - could drop you down a bracket #tools #guessing every lure will work at this place - i think the difference is staying in the hot pockets - you will be able to talk to fellow kayakers and see what patterns are and where people are fishing - you are in top 25% which is not bad - you may have a big second day...I can't imagine what 21/22 inch fish looks like judging by what you have caught already at this place - footballs! try the hellgrammite or craws
