I didn't read both these books but one thing i can say that from 2,3 interviews i had seen about manu s pillai was amazing, such a dedicated hardworking knowledgeable person.. i never seen this kind of person before, no arrogance in words eventhough he achieved this much

I have read Manu's book. I personally believe what he has written the facts through a lot of research. if you look at the way he is presenting facts in his interviews, you will know that he is indeed speaking the truth. He has relied on documents especially letters written by palace spies to higher authorities in England. So there is a 95 percent possibility of stated facts being true. I will give only a five percent error since the facts tend to get manipulated as time marches on. There is another possibility of the British adding a bit of exaggeration in their reports. Though his books contain almost all information from the socio economic conditions prevailed in Kerala state, the various kingdoms and their rulers up to the end of the reign of the Maharaja in Travancore. A brief introduction to Kerala history and culture as well. As for the interview of this lady, as most of the comments have pointed out, the sheer arrogance in which she replies to the questions. The funny thing is she didn't even bother to read the whole book. How can someone criticize a book without reading it fully and understand what the author is trying to convey through it. Of course there is a hidden feud between the two streams of the royal family. It's a well known hidden fact and Manu has opened the Jeanie in the bottle and set it free. The majority of the audience like the Jeanie and that's why everyone is congratulating him. Very beautiful way of presenting facts as such mood maintained as in a story telling atmosphere so as while sitting with little children. Do watch his dozens of interviews. You can see how beautifully he orates different stories in a sweet way. Unlike the rani saying that Ivory Throne become a hit because it is cheap and with some sort of binding and all is utter nonsense. No one judges a book by a cover or by its volume instead by the quality of the content written inside. I think none has even bothered to read her the "Saga" book. It is of huge volume but i think even the publishers acknowledge the fact that the written contents are not worth the hype. She was telling some vague facts such as "someone tried to killed Maharaja in bed " repeatedly without revealing any of the circumstances which led to the incident. Story telling or writing something is an art and there are not so many artists who can do the job well enough theses days instead many of those who claim to be a top writer after writing something out just like that. I knew the fact that she purposely wrote this book to counter the narratives put by Manu in his book within a short span and without doing any research on the subject at all. Those who helped her edit/publish the book should also be zoo'd on since they are also unable to rectify the same. I have seen many interviews of Manu done by prominent anchors in Mathrubhumi, Manorama and other social media platform but not such a bad quality as this one. Doesn't the TNIE have some anchors who know HTGTJD?

he literally went through the archives in london and museums ,he is a professional.this lady is nothing but trying to create a controversy to sell her books.she herself states that she haven't even read his book,and it doesn't seem like she even referred any material for her book either.its ironic that she got to release a book that easily just because of her name .

I dnt know. I sense some aura of arrogance. Comparing page quality and binding . I had read Manus book to half , yet to complete. Whats so much offensive about that. He has written facts. And he has not written anything offensive about the family as a whole just about few persons. We may not like the history written in those pages but then we ourselves can countercheck the source of information. He has clearly given references rt 🤔 And madam we would buy book howsovef costly it is if we feel the information given is authentic. For some reason I find her language spoken in this interview not very respectful.

She doesn't like the book because it exposes some of her family history which was glorified before. So that book is bad because the 'maharani' has said so! Wow...are we still in the last century? I had huge respect for this lady. Now she has reduced to an insecure person who desperately clings to royal titles and privileges shamelessly to maintain her social dignity. Sorry to see her stoop so low. If she has concrete evidence, let her contest in a dignified way. Even Manu has admitted that every historical literature will be re read and reconstructed with the passing of time. He never bragged his findings are completely foolproof. This elderly lady does not have the maturity even as a 30 year old. This kind of rebuke actually puts her further in bad shape.

Even before Svati was born , Monroe wrote it’s a boy to Madras Governor . Churchill presided over the hideous 1943 famine in Bengal, where some 3 million Indians perished, largely as a result of British imperial mismanagement. So I request you that do not believe what Europeans wrote fully . They wrote with their colonial and imperial mindset

History Liberated cannot be even compared to the Ivory throne. I have read both the books. The difference is very evident. Those who hav not read , I would recommend you to. Im not saying that the book is wrong. But It cannot said to be true only because it has given some references and siteations.

The same way , the people with a good consciousness can understand the book by reading two or three pages. I even was not able to touch the book. Padmanabha dasar ennaal padmanabha daasar ennu thanne aanartham. Who is guided by Padmanabha. People have not experienced the cunningness of birtish and how they twist things, they will never understand it.
